After 7 previous monthly releases, we’ve reached another Disney100 Decades collection, the 90s! I know I certainly have fond memories from that time of enjoying Disney’s entertainment in the theaters and on television (but only after I finished my homework). This collection includes merchandise featuring A Goofy Movie, Beauty and the Beast, Darkwing Duck, The Disney Afternoon, and A Bug’s Life. Let’s take a look!
What is the Disney100 Decades Collection?
The Disney100 Decades Collection is a series of monthly merchandise collections created for the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration (AKA Disney100). Each month explores different eras of The Walt Disney Studios, starting with February’s 20s Collection (The Walt Disney Studios was founded in 1923), featuring merchandise inspired by Disney productions from that time.
And without further ado, here’s the Disney100 Decades 90s Collection!
A Goofy Movie Loungefly Mini Backpack ($88)
Goofy and Max’s wacky father-son road trip from A Goofy Movie rides again on this Loungefly mini backpack. On the front of the backpack, we see the pair up a creek without a paddle (but thankfully, still in possession of a car). The translucent river rising above their vehicle is a cleverly hidden front pocket.
Along the sides and back, you’ll find some of their luggage and souvenirs floating downstream. The Disney100 Decades label is also on the backside of the bag, at the top.
The backpack’s main compartment is lined with a print filled with snapshots from Goofy and Max’s trip.
Beauty and the Beast Light-Up Ear Headband ($39.99)
The stained glass windows seen at the beginning and end of that “tale as old as time,” Beauty and the Beast, have been transformed into the ears for this rose-crowned ear headband. Each molded plastic ear is not only filled with faux rose petals but also has a light-up element via a rechargeable battery (a USB charging cable is included).
When lit up, the “stained glass” on the ears has an otherworldly glow.
While you can already find this item at Disney Parks, it is only on preorder at shopDisney, with an estimated ship date of November 3.
Darkwing Duck Plush ($29.99)
He is the terror that flaps in the night. He is the stuffed animal that begs to be hugged. He is … Darkwing Duck! This 15-inch-tall plush captures Darkwing’s confident personality in his facial expression and pose. He is made with a combination of fuzzy fabric for his body and satin in his costume. And like the plushes from the previous Disney100 Collections, this hero of the 90s comes packaged in a Disney100-branded organza storage bag.
A Bug’s Life MagicBand+ ($64.99)
If you are still mourning the loss of A Bug’s Land in Disney California Adventure (and trust me, I get it), maybe this MagicBand+ will help fill the void. Limited to 4,300 pieces, it features Flik, Heimlich, Slim, Francis, Dot, Tuck, Roll, Dim and others. Francis also takes center stage on the band’s tappable icon.
The Disney Afternoon Pin ($34.99)
Darkwing Duck is accompanied by more of the crew from the Disney Afternoon television block in this layered trading pin. Cubbi Gummi of The Gummi Bears, TaleSpin‘s Baloo, and Chip, Dale, and Gadget from Chip ‘n Dale’s Rescue Rangers join him in attempting to jump out from your TV set in this layered pin. This limited-release design can also function as a stand-up diorama.
