June’s 60s-inspired edition of the monthly Disney100 Decades Collections was recently released, and this may be its most exciting one yet. Featuring 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, The Sword in the Stone, Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, and even Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, the Disney100 60s Decades Collection incorporates clever nods to each title in the merchandise. Let’s take a closer look!
What is the Disney100 Decades Collection?
The Disney100 Decades Collection is a series of monthly merchandise collections created for the Disney 100 Years of Wonder Celebration (AKA Disney100). Each month explores different eras of The Walt Disney Studios, starting with February’s 20s Collection (The Walt Disney Studios was founded in 1923), featuring merchandise inspired by Disney productions from that time.
And now, let’s move on to the Disney100 Decades 60s Collection!
101 Dalmatians Loungefly Mini Backpack ($88)
It’s all puppies, all the time, on this Loungefly mini backpack. This charming accessory incorporates wrap-around artwork with your favorite characters from 101 Dalmatians. The front of the backpack has flaps on the rug and the armchair that reveal even more pups when lifted.

The puppies that run across the backside of the backpack are in the process of shedding the soot from their fur that was used to disguise themselves from Cruella De Vil. And near Disney100 patch is attached above them, close to the top of the bag.

As you would expect, the print used for the lining is also covered with cuddly, spotted canines, with paw prints mixed in for good measure.

The Jungle Book Ear Headband ($39.99)
The layered and embroidered elements in this Jungle Book-themed Ear Headband certainly are eye-catching. The base of the ears is a woven fabric with the film’s characters screen-printed on both sides each piece. The addition of embroidered background foliage and the felt leaves in the foreground add depth to the design. And the burlap bow tops off the piece for a tropical look.

Additionally, one side of the band is embellished with a metal “Disney100 Decades” plaque.

Merlin and Mad Madam Mim Plush Set from The Sword in the Stone ($34.99)
This is another brilliant addition to the Disney100 Decades 60s Collection (and my personal favorite as well). Inspired by the “Wizard’s Duel” between Merlin and Mad Madam Mim in The Sword in the Stone, the set includes plush versions of Merlin transformed into a 5-and-a-half-inch-tall mouse and Mim as an 11-inch-tall dragon. The pairs’ detailed designs and expressive faces add to their charm. And I adore that differently-textured fabric was used for Mim’s dragon scales.

Like the plushes in previous collections, the set comes packaged together in a gauzy Disney100 Decades drawstring storage bag.
Heffalumps and Woozles MagicBand+ from Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (64.99)
Heffalumps and Woozles may steal honey, but I think I can forgive them as long as they don’t steal my ticket to Disneyland. Winnie the Pooh’s imaginary(?) nemeses take center stage for this limited-edition MagicBand+ (only 4,300 pieces available).

Ludwig Von Drake Pin from Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color ($34.99)
The inspiration for the 60s Collection’s limited-release pin is likely the least well-known of the bunch. This television show was broadcast on NBC beginning in 1961 when the channel was the only one airing programs in color. A portion of the first episode included Professor Ludwig Von Drake explaining the color theory, so it is especially fitting that this pin uses differently-colored translucent panels that swivel to create different colors.

What Comes After the Disney100 Decades 60s Collection?
Along with the release of the 60s collection, shopDisney also treated us to a sneak peek at what’s coming in July for the Disney100 Decades monthly releases. From the collections’ dedicated page on shopDisney, we already knew that the Disney100 Decades 70s Collection would include merchandise featuring the Aristocats and the Muppets. And what was revealed today was the Muppets-themed item, the Loungefly mini backpack:
