It’s summer in Southern California, but if you were to pop into shops at the Disneyland Resort you may be wondering it is actually Fall. This week, World of Disney transformed its main room into a Halloween hangout. And it’s certainly looking more like Wonderland over at WonderGround Gallery with its Alice in Wonderland by Mary Blair Collection. As with every Disneyland Merchandise Update, there’s even more to look forward to! Let’s get started…
Halloween Hits World of Disney
We are almost to the start of Halloween Time at Disneyland and hints of the holiday are trickling into the merchandise realm. The main room of World of Disney in Downtown Disney is already dressed in its seasonal best, with a Mickey pumpkin centerpiece and themed projections on the walls and floor.
There is a lot of new merchandise created for this Halloween season, more than we could possibly fit in a section of a Merchandise Update. If you want to see what this year’s Halloween brings to store shelves, you can read all about it here:
Costumes
Beyond the items created specifically for the holiday, the Halloween section also contains a good number of previously released kids costumes. Some of them are always easy to find and purchase (like princess dresses and pirate costumes) while others might be typically harder to get your hands on (like Mary Poppins). With Oogie Boogie Bash coming up, it is clever of Disney to sell costumes for kids who might want one for the after-hours event.
The Haunted Mansion
Earlier this week, I spotted a Loungefly mini backpack and wallet (sold separately, of course) with the same Haunted Mansion print as the hat that was highlighted in a previous merchandise update. It features several popular ghosts from the attraction drawn as Funko’s POP! characters, with stylized faces and exaggerated proportions.
That wasn’t the only new Haunted Mansion item discovered. This tie-dye crop top shows the ghostly retreat with features from the attraction at both Disneyland (the pillars at the entrance) and Walt Disney World (the tall chimneys and atrium to the side). Bats appear to be escaping en masse.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
It is hard to think of Halloween without The Nightmare Before Christmas coming to mind. More and more merchandise of Jack Skellington is wrecking the halls (or shelves, rather) in World of Disney.
Shoppers will notice a trucker hat with an iridescent Jack face patch on the front. There is also a sequined hoodie with glow-in-the-dark features and a pair of socks depicting the Pumpkins King’s likeness.
In the same area of the store are these fingerless gloves. One hand has a Jack-faced patch with the letters for “Jack” spelled out across the fingers, while the ghostly pup Zero gets a similar treatment on the other hand. The gloves match well with the woven beanie, which is sold separately.
WonderGround Meets Wonderland
Disney’s animated classic, Alice In Wonderland, celebrated its 70th anniversary this past July and, while it is a little late (don’t tell the White Rabbit!), Disney is now selling a collection of merchandise inspired by Mary Blair’s concept art for the film. This Mary Blair x Alice In Wonderland collection is available on shopDisney but, if you want to see the items in person, I suggest heading on over to the WonderGround Gallery, where they are also sold.
The apparel were created in collaboration with Her Universe. There is a two-piece dress set, a woven top, and a graphic tee with embroidered detail.
As far as accessories go, WonderGround Gallery has a headband set of 3 and a bag charm with a chain.
Housewares might be the prettiest category of this collection. You can find items such as a lovely, embroidered throw pillow (depicting one of my favorite scenes, the Golden Afternoon), a kitchen towel, a woven throw blanket, a spoon set, and teacup.
But anyone who knows me personally would not be surprised to read that the Alice and White Rabbit plush set is my favorite of the whole lot.
Odds & Ends
World of Disney
Coco enthusiasts, rejoice! Loungefly recently released this beautifully vibrant, new mini backpack. The accessory is decorated with art of Miguel, Hector, Ernesto de la Cruz, and that special guitar seen in the movie, all surrounded by sugar skulls, carnations, and Mexican Otomi-style embroidery. The front pocket reads “Seize Your Moment.”
As of August 17, the nuiMOs of Jasmine and Rapunzel were still MIA at World of Disney. They were released on August 2 on shopDisney and expected to arrive at Disneyland by now, but that just has not happened.
But that doesn’t mean nuiMOs collectors won’t find anything new on their next shopping excursion. Several new accessories for our plush pals are now available. There are miniature headphones as well as two food items modeled after dishes found in the Parks, the Mickey Mouse Kitchen Sink Sundae (like you would find at Clarabelle’s on Buena Vista Street) and a Minnie Mouse popcorn bucket (with the hatch open so the “popcorn” is visible).
As far as adorable Disney+ characters go, I may personally be more of a fan of Lokigator but there is no denying the popularity of The Mandalorian’s Grogu. If you prefer the latter, you’ll be interested to know that a new figure set has landed. You can see all the accessories included in the second photo.
WonderGround Gallery
The Artist Series, which features merchandise with designs from different artists, doesn’t arrive on shopDisney until August 23, but if you are in the vicinity of the Disneyland Resort, you can check out (and purchase!) some of the merchandise a little early.

Pin Traders
Pin Traders in Downtown Disney still sells plenty of trading pins but for a while, they have been adding more variety to their inventory. However, this week was the first time I noticed that nearly a third of the racks available were being occupied by non-pin merchandise.
