After landing earlier at Walt Disney World, the Halloween Time has arrived at Disneyland with plenty of Halloween merchandise for guests to partake in. There are treats galore for all the good boys and ghouls, from the popular Loungefly bags and Spirit Jerseys to themed toys and even some actual candies. Let’s take a look at what new Halloween merchandise is now available on both coasts.
[Note: There may be some variations in merchandise, depending on whether you are in Walt Disney World or Disneyland. But several items will look very similar and in many cases be the same.]
Apparel
Adult Clothing
Disney has now introduced us to the happiest skull on earth. The guy is chilling on the chest and back of this plaid flannel shirt. I really like the style on this one.
Grey plaid is so popular this season that it even got its own Spirit Jersey. The pattern runs along the shirt’s sleeves and is also inside Mickey’s silhouette on the chest.
If you are a fan of lime green and having multiple font styles on your apparel, this is the shirt for you. This long sleeve shirt is decorated with words like “Boo!” (with Mickey hidden inside), “Scare,” and “Scream.” It’s not our favorite but it fits in line with the edgier style of Disney’s newest merchandise.
In addition to the day-glow green long sleeve shirt, eerie monster Mickey is also pictured on a zippered hoodie and a t-shirt. On the latter, he is joined by monster versions of Goofy and Donald along with the caption “I am just here for the candy.”
Minnie may not be my favorite mouse but I actually love the look of this hooded sweatshirt dress. In her costume (presumably The Bride of Frankenstein), she promises to “Haunt you later.” The fabric on this dress is relatively lightweight and could be layered with a cardigan or scarf later in the chillier hours of the day.
Hulk ain’t afraid of no ghost, as made clear in the is “Happy Hulkoween” shirt. This one comes in adult and kid sizes.
The more I stare at the art on this Star Wars shirt, the more I appreciate the detail. I don’t know what I love more R2-D2 as a ghost, the team of Storm Trooper skeletons, or the fact that details in the graphic glow in the dark!
This women’s tee has a print full of cheery ghosts, dandy candies, and grinning gourds. And can we all agree that it is nice to see some more women’s shirts that are not crop tops?
What’s a seasonal event without a new Spirit Jersey? This design has a print stuffed with Mickey and Minnie pumpkins wearing a variety of different facial expressions. A purple-to-orange gradient version of the Walt Disney World or Disneyland logo is on the chest with a similarly-colored “Walt Disney World” or “Disneyland” written across the shoulders on the back. This also comes in kids sizing.
This women’s tee is designed by Her Universe. There is an appliqué cauldron on the chest joined by a castle (Cinderella’s from the looks of it) made from stars as if it was a constellation.
This hoodie sweatshirt has raglan sleeves and an overall neon vibe that I bet would work well underneath a black light. The Sanderson Sisters (joined by Binx the cat) fly across the front on brooms with a starry castle in the background. Along the top of the graphic, it says “It’s just a bunch of hocus pocus.”
Hocus Pocus fans are going to want to get their hands on this Spirit Jersey that stars the Sanderson sisters and the line from the movie “It’s just a bunch of hocus pocus.” On the front, the chest says “Hocus Pocus.”
What’s this? Another Spirit Jersey? This Oogie Boogie-themed shirt is covered with an allover print of dice, bats, and Oogie Boogie’s laughing face. The chest has “Frightfully Fun” written on it and the back says “Oogie Boogie” across the shoulders.
Clever pumpkin-themed wordplay takes center stage on this shirt. It features the pun-tastic phrase “Oh my gourd” surrounded by several Mickey-themed pumpkins.
This tie-front shirt has a simple “Hey there, pumpkin” on the front, accented by a small Mickey pumpkin.
For a more cartoony look, guests can opt for this tie-dyed graphic tee depicting Mickey, Donald, and Goofy getting into some Halloween tricks of their own.
A hoodie is a good idea for when it starts to get breezy and chilly after dark. This particular zip hoodie has a Mickey pumpkin appliqué on the chest and a print full of ghosts, candy, skulls (they’re smiling, don’t worry), and Mickey pumpkins run along the sides and a portion of the sleeves. Get used to that print; you are going to see it a lot.
Halloween Time is here and Haunted Mansion Holiday has officially landed in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square. On this strategically torn shirt, Jack Skellington stands proudly in front of the Haunted Mansion’s facade with a stylized version of the Disneyland logo underneath. Given that the seasonal overlay is not available at Walt Disney World, I imagine this shirt will be exclusive to the Disneyland Resort.
Made in collaboration with Her Universe, the print on this skater dress is full of characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Main characters like Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie are included along with those who have smaller roles, like the Mayor and Dr. Finklestein.
The art on this long-sleeved shirt has a distressed look to it, which somehow seems fitting for a character whose exterior is the equivalent of a burlap sack. The front has a graphic of Oogie Boogie holding dice with his signature along the bottom. The many facial expressions of the villain line the sleeves.
This denim jacket, inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas’s Jack Skelligton, gives off a major 90’s vibe.
This asymmetrical sweatshirt has glow-in-the-dark features (I imagine the Jack face and bats are what glows). Within the graphic of Jack’s face is a slightly sad-looking Sally with some bats flying overhead.
Both the baseball cap and hoodie found in the picture below were originally released last year. The cap has Oogie Boogie’s mocking face on the front with “Seriously Spooky” embroidered on the bill. You’ll see a small spider and the generic “Disney Parks” phrase embroidered on the back.
The zippered hoodie has “Oogie Boogie” running asymmetrically from the right sleeve to the chest. The boogieman’s silhouette taunts you from the bottom portion.
Biking is a surefire way to burn off those extra candy-binging calories. And you can add a bit of character to the activity by donning this pair of Nightmare Before Christmas biking shorts.
Jack and Sally’s clothing styles blend together in these leggings. One leg is fashioned after Jack’s suit. The other looks like Sally’s dress.
This tie-dyed hoodie infuses Disney villains with street art flair.
A similar style is seen on these lounge pants.
If you are a serious fan of Disney Villains, you may want to have it “spraypainted” across your chest. Well, the chest of your hoodie, anyways. The back of the hoodie has stencil-like art of Scar, Dr. Facilier, Hades, and Jafar. Along the bottom are the phrases: “Power is eternal,” “Infamous,” and “Look into my eyes.”
The hoodie seen above has matching lounge pants with icons representing the baddies seen on the back of the sweatshirt. There is the skull and crossbones from Dr. Facilier’s hat, Hades’s skull with blue flames, Jafar as a snake, and the crown with a tail represents Scar.
This long-sleeve shirt is a similar color to the one seen in the flames atop Hades’s head, which is fitting since the guy’s face is printed on the front. It is joined by his little skull icon, flames, and, oddly, a thunderbolt. The back has the villain’s greeting of “How ya doin’?”
Out of this style of Villains attire, I think I like Scar’s shirt the best. The scheming lion finally gets the crown he always craved, painted above his head. The front also has the phrase “Call me king.”
Kids Clothing
Kids can dress up courtesy of this two-piece set with a tie-front top and skirt. The top has a graphic depicting Minnie Mouse in her cat costume. This would be great for a simple, last-minute Halloween look or perfect to visit the parks in.
This purple shirt with ruffled sleeves is one of the simpler designs, with just a Mickey pumpkin as the focal point surrounded by “Happy Halloween” and “Walt Disney World.”
This tie-dyed graphic tee for kids matches the adult version seen earlier.
Disney created this onesie for the littlest trick-or-treaters in the family. With its similar color scheme, it resembles the adults’ and kids’ graphic tees.
Accessories
Ear Headbands
There have been several iterations of the whole “light-up Mickey Balloon” Ear Headband design in the past but I think this one is perhaps the best themed. Not only does it have the standard Mickey Balloon inside each of the ears but the backside of the balloon portion has a silhouette of Mickey trick-or-treating. The side of the headband says “Boo!”
The witch hat on this Ear Headband is made of candy (well, sort of). With a base resembling candy corn and a hard candy bow, it is a very sweet design.
Grey and black plaid mingle with sequined orange for this Halloween Ear Headband. The side of the headband says “Haunt It!”
Disney gives you the opportunity to wear a pumpkin patch on your head with the help of this Mickey Pumpkin Ear Headband.
Man, no pun intended but this bizarre Hades Headband just will not die. It made its debut last Halloween and stuck around for quite a while afterward, just sitting on the shelves of Disneyland’s World of Disney. The furry hairpiece on top lights up to simulate Hades’ firey hairstyle. The God of Death’s name plus a stylized skull are embroidered along the side of the band.
This Nightmare Before Christmas Ear Headband is designed by Loungefly (and even has the metal plaque on the band to prove it). The fabric on the ears has a reflective metallic featuring the character images. The hauntingly translucent bow is cut in a shape similar to bat wings.
Bags and Purses
Like its matching Ear Headband, Nightmare Before Christmas characters in the print on this Loungefly mini backpack have a metallic, reflective quality. The sides of the bag are decorated with metal stud accents.
This Minnie Mouse Mini Backpack by Loungefly combines plaid-covered mouse ears, a pumpkin-hued bow, and the print with the Disney-fied Halloween icons we saw earlier for a delightful seasonal accessory.
With this textured Loungefly Mini Backpack, Oogie Boogie is both sinister and supportive as he hauls your necessities around the Parks. Bats and bugs add some frightening flair to the design. Interestingly, the metal plate on the bag doesn’t say “Disney Parks” but instead just reads “Disney.”
This Loungefly mini backpack could easily be mistaken for a Haunted Mansion design, perhaps themed to Madame Leota. But in reality, it is part of the Hocus Pocus collection.
I have a lot of love for Loungefly’s mini backpacks but there’s also a special place in my heart for their canvas backpacks. This Nightmare Before Christmas design has embroidered portraits of various characters from the movie.
Jewelry
BaubleBar crafted several pairs of earrings for this Halloween Time. Here’s what’s available.
Other Accessories
This “Wicked Spooky” baseball cap is decorated with the same Ear Hat-wearing skull seen on the flannel shirt from earlier.
This bucket hat gathers many of the phrases and icons seen on other Villains graffiti-style merchandise into one convenient piece of headwear.
Toys
Now that we’ve covered the apparel and accessories of Halloween Time around the Disney parks, let’s take a look at some of the more entertaining aspects of merchandise: toys.
Mickey is garbed in an orange suit with a purple-lined, plaid cape and top hat in this Halloween plush. On the bottom of one of the toy’s feet is the greeting “Happy Halloween.”
The Minnie Mouse plush is, interestingly, dressed as a black (grey?) cat for Halloween. Her costume includes grey cat ears, a silver dress with an orange skirt, and silvery shoes, which also has “Happy Halloween” on one of the soles.
My personal favorite among the Halloween plush is this Chip and Dale set. The silly chipmunk duo are not actually in costume themselves but instead have chosen to hide out in a grinning Jack-o-Lantern.
If this quartet of Hocus Pocus plushes seems familiar, it’s because they were actually released last year at Disney Stores. Designs include Winnie, Sarah, and Mary along with Binx the cat.
With another seasonal event, comes another seasonal Star Wars droid. This Halloween’s model is the R6-W1CH and the little guy has a witch’s hat on top of his chrome noggin’.
Halloween House Goods
Grab a handful of candy, if you dare, by sticking your handing into the “mouth” of this creepy-cute candy dish, shaped like a Mickey pumpkin.
Don’t feel like carving your own pumpkin? Just stick a candle into this Mickey pumpkin candle holder and you’ll get the spooky, flickering effect of a candle within a Jack-o’-lantern.
If you buy several of these Mickey pumpkin throw pillows, you can turn your couch or bed into an indoor pumpkin patch. The front has the Mickey pumpkin’s “face” and the back says “Hey pumpkin.”
This charming figural mug takes after a pair of Jack-o’-lanterns, the one of which has mouse ears! One side of the mug has the pumpkins’ smiling faces and the other says “Trick or Treat.” Peek inside and you’ll spy a spider, just hanging out.
Christmas isn’t the only occasion to hang a wreath. And when the wreath happens to be made out of pumpkins, the decorations simply shrieks “Hang me for Halloween!” Atop this Mickey-shaped wreath is a sparkly purple bow embellished with a bat. A spider wove its web around the inside and hangs out the bottom.
This light-up Mickey pumpkin, similar to the rest of his gourd brethren, has plaid ears. But this smiling fellow’s face illuminates, thanks to the wonders of electricity.
I know many of you are simply counting down the days until All Hallow’s Eve and, guess what, so is this Countdown Calendar. The centerpiece is a fairytale castle made from colorful pumpkins, surrounded by Mickey, Minnie, and Figaro the cat.
Pumpkin Spice is pretty much the official scent for fall so of course, that is what this candle smells like. The candle’s holder has a pair of happy little ghosts on one side and a Mickey pumpkin on the other.
The doormat is what welcomes potential trick-or-treaters to your home and this one has Mickey and Minnie pumpkins with teeny-tiny matching ghosts along with a cheery “Happy Halloween.”
The cartoony renditions of the Sanderson Sisters adorn this glass set. The concept is great for helping identify whose glass is whose but I hope nobody gets into a fight trying to claim a certain favorite witch. Designs in this set include Sarah, Winifred, Mary, and one of the trio together. The keen eye will note that in the fourth design, there is a reference to the Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular, a Halloween show from Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World in earlier years. The after-hours event has now been replaced by Boo Bash. It’s pretty peculiar that this set can be found at Disneyland, where there’s never been a Spelltacular show, but it’s still cute.
Binx the cat makes a return in mug form! His kitty tail is the handle.
This apron has a print similar to the previously-seen Loungefly Mini Backpack, except with a purple background rather than a black one. The apron’s pocket has appliqué Mickey and Minnie pumpkins and the phrase “if you’ve got it, haunt it.”
This dish towel set includes two pieces. For the first, Mickey Mouse is dressed in the same outfit seen on his plush toy while toting some Jack-o-Lanterns with sparkles and bats in the background and”Happy Halloween” embroidered on the top. The other towel has that popular Halloween icon print.
This eery battery-powered candle is decorated with glittery art of classic villains like Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Dr. Facilier, and others.
Odds & Ends, Halloween-Style
Your beloved pet can get into the Halloween spirit with this seasonal Spirit Jersey sized just for them. The bottom portion has a Mickey and Minnie pumpkin print, just like the one for humans. But instead of saying “Disneyland” or “Walt Disney World,” the back reads “Happy Halloween.”
This year’s version of the Mickey pumpkin candy pail not only lights up but also makes music! And like many other items we have seen for this season, grey plaid is integrated into the design, this time on the ears.
As you might expect, this light-up spinner lights up and spins.
If you were looking for something bright to wear around your neck, you have two options: a lanyard with a large Mickey Pumpkin on it or a necklace full of pumpkins (some Mickey-shaped and some not) and fall leaves.
Or you can just clip a light-up Mickey pumpkin on your backpack or purse.
When trick-or-treating in the nighttime, it doesn’t hurt to have your pick of light sources. Adding to the Mickey-themed glow accessory options is this glow necklace with Jack faces for light bulbs/beads. There are several of the Pumpkin King’s expressions seen on the glowing orbs, like an open-mouth smile, a laughing face, and a somewhat cheeky grin.
You can also buy a pair of Crocs with a plaid design similar to what we have seen on several other pieces of merchandise.
Accessorize your Crocs with themed Jibbitz charms shaped like candy corn, a Mickey pumpkin, and other Halloween icons (sold as a set).
Hocus Pocus’s Binx makes another appearance, this time as a keychain with charms that, once combined, read “Under my spell.”
For you pin collectors out there, Disney has provided some Halloween pins to add to your collection.
For those of us who, for whatever reason, can’t trick or treat this year, Disney is selling these little Mickey and Minnie Pumpkin treat buckets filled with candy (sold individually). The Mickey bucket has candy corn and the Minnie one is full of gummy candies.
Jack Skellington’s head isn’t always filled with thoughts of Christmas. Sometimes it is filled with candy! This mini candy bucket contains a sealed pouch of sour jelly pumpkins.
And here are some more sweet treats created just for Disney Parks!
Disneyland’s current purchase-with-purchase promotion is Halloween-themed! Guests have the opportunity to buy a special tote bag for $24.99 after a merchandise purchase of $40 or more. The tote in question is covered with Mickey and Minnie pumpkins and has Disneyland Resort patch on the side.
