Halloween Time is returning to the Disneyland Resort September 3rd through Halloween, and it’s mostly as you remember if from before the park shutdowns, but with one big change.

Here’s what you can expect for Halloween Time 2021 at the Disneyland Resort…

Update 8/10/21: Information regarding dining and dessert packages for Oogie Boogie Bash have been added, along with reservation info.

Halloween Time at Disneyland

Disneyland’s offerings will be the same as in years past. Expect the “Pumpkin Festival” on Main Street USA and the popular Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay as well.

But, what we are most excited about are the Halloween Screams fireworks on weekend nights.

Halloween Food

We don’t know specifically what food and beverage will be featured this year, but here’s what was offered in 2019 (the last time the Disneyland parks celebrated the season). Expect items from donuts and funnel cake fries to cupcakes and churros.

There are all sorts of delicious goodies coming to the Resort very soon. While the items we’ve shown here are just samples of the past, we should be seeing very similar offerings this fall.

Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween Party

(25 select nights beginning September 9th, 2021)

The Oogie Boogie Bash is a special ticketed Halloween spooktacular event at Disney California Adventure. It’s a bit darker and scarier than the old Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland, but not much more. Still, we think this event is a touch more fun for the whole family since it appeals to a wider demographic.

Before we get too far into what to expect, there is one item that won’t be available this year, “World of Color Villainous.” Due to fountain maintenance, the show won’t be offered this year and will return in 2022.

But you’ll still be able to dance and party with the characters, enjoy the amazing Villains grove in the Redwood Creek area, watch the delightful Frightfully Fun Parade, and go trick-or-treating in the character-enhanced treat trails. Additionally, during the party hours, most attractions will be available to ride— including the brand new Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure. Event-goers can enter Disney California Adventure 3 hours before the party begins.

Even if you don’t attend the party, daytime guests will enjoy the resort-wide decorations, Halloween ride overlays, and special treats and merchandise.

UPDATE 8/10/21: New information was released about the return of specialty dining packages for Oogie Boogie Bash. There are two options for party-goers: a three-course meal (either lunch or dinner) during the mix-in hours at Wine Country Trattoria or a dessert buffet that takes place during the Bash at Sonoma Terrace.

If you’re looking to get a prime spot for viewing, a dining package is recommended since you’re given access to the reserved area for the Frightfully Fun Parade. As an added bonus, the children’s meal includes an Oogie Boogie Popcorn Bucket (also available for adults for an additional charge). Because this dining package occurs during the mix-in time, you won’t miss out on any of the Oogie Boogie Bash offerings. Reservations for dining at the restaurant can be made for Wine Country Trattoria on any date of the Oogie Boogie Bash subject to availability. Upon arrival, let the host know you want to upgrade to this dining experience, which is subject to availability, and must be made in person. Oogie Boogie Bash tickets are required for this dining package, and will need to be shown for verification at the location.

The other specialty dining option is a dessert buffet that takes place at Sonoma Terrace. The dessert party will be available twice a night, at 7pm and again at 9:30pm. Guests partaking in the buffet will also have access to reserved standing areas for the Frightfully Fun Parade. Advance reservations are recommended and can be booked online up to 60 days prior to your visit at  Disneyland.com/Dining. Oogie Boogie Bash tickets are required for booking, and will need to be shown for verification when arriving at the location.

Reservations for both dining experiences will be available on August 11!

Oogie Boogie Bash Event Highlights From Previous Years:

, Halloween Time & Oogie Boogie Bash Return to the Disneyland Resort September 3rd

While some things may change, this is more or less what the Oogie Boogie Bash will look like in 2021. The event is expected to be VERY close to the way you experienced it in the past, but without World of Color Villainous.

No World of Color Villainous This Year

World of Color: Villainous! was a great show that followed the story of a young girl, Shelley Marie, and her encounter with the Disney villains. She can’t decide who she wants to dress up as for Halloween, and steps through a magic mirror to meet the villains first-hand.

We’ll miss Villainous, but there’s still plenty to enjoy at this event:

Villains Grove

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail Transformed – Explore Redwood Creek Challenge Trail as the worlds of Ursula, Scar, the Queen of Hearts and other Disney Villains unfold via ethereal scenes replete with hauntingly beautiful color, sound, light and shadow.

Redwood Creek transforms into a dark Halloween themed lair for Disney’s most dastardly villains at Halloween. The “Villains Grove” features themed areas not unlike a haunted house, with special lighting, music, and projections of the villains of course!

Treat Trails

Immersive Treat Trails – Collect goodies along trails featuring eerie music, themed décor and some spooky and kooky characters — including Oogie Boogie and the Mad Hatter—as they oversee the festivities from their thrones.

The Treat Trails have been entirely revamped from the Disneyland version with music and effects. You’ll find Oogie Boogie and the Mad Hatter (among other villains) in the themed areas, and you’re in for some good tricks, and definitely some good treats.

Frightfully Fun Parade

Frightfully Fun Parade: Don’t miss this spirited howl-o-ween parade, where some of your favorite Disney Characters march in masquerade along with a cadre of Villains and stars from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Disneyland’s popular Halloween parade is now part of Oogie Boogie Bash. The parade features the Headless Horseman, along with Mickey and Minnie and the rest of the cavalcade of characters. You’ll even spy the Cheshire Cat from “Alice in Wonderland.” Due to California Adventure’s long parade route, guests shouldn’t have any trouble finding a great spot.
