The calendar now officially says “December” and we have the chilly weather to match (or Southern California’s equivalent of chilly weather, anyways). In this Disneyland Merchandise Update, you can look forward to items like clothing to cuddle up in, delightful accessories, and the most magical kitchen linens around. There are lots of fun surprises ahead!

World of Disney

This loungewear top looks impressively warm, with waffle knit fabric on the sleeves and sherpa fleece lining on the hood. The matching bottoms are sold separately.

With its color scheme and use of buttons rather than a zipper, this cozy hoodie is eye-catching. I love the addition of classic Mickey Mouse and the Disneyland logo on the front and back.

Flannel is a fun (and warm!) fabric for the season and World of Disney has four new button-up shirts made from it. And what makes these particular shirts extra-special is the art of Mickey and his pals found on the back and above the left pocket on the front. The styles include Mickey, Minnie, Pluto (with the wording “Main Street, USA” on the back), and Goofy (themed to Frontierland).

There is also this sweater with the Disneyland logo on it, for something simple yet bold. It uses Mickey’s color scheme as inspiration for the design.

For more layering options, we have these Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck printed cardigans. I must confess, although I am typically partial to Donald, I like the print on Mickey’s cardigan a bit more.

Sweaters must be very en vogue right now because there is even a fuzzy Ear Headband with a bow made of woven, sweater-like fabric.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

Fantasia is celebrating its 80th anniversary and this Sorcerer Mickey Ear Headband is a great way to show you are honoring the occasion. Or that you just really like Sorcerer Mickey. Either way, it is simply magical.

Joining the lineup of glow wing accessories (we already have Tinker Bell and Maleficent styles), here are ones designed after Buzz Lightyear. There is also a talking arm communicator you can buy to add to the look.

Marvel Avengers Campus won’t be opening any time soon but that hasn’t stopped some of the upcoming merchandise from escaping early. Initially sold at an Annual Passholder-exclusive reservation-only shopping event, this Spider Bot was made available to the general public several days later at World of Disney.

Last month’s Wishables series was the “Inside Out” Emotional Whirlwind series, based on the attraction found on Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure. The chaser is everyone’s favorite imaginary friend, Bing Bong. The mystery bag holds one of the five emotions featured in Inside Out: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. This is noteworthy because the mystery bags normally have four options rather than five.

This month’s Wishables release is so special that it gets its very own section! You’ll find it at the end of the article.

There is also a new mystery bag (or box, in this case) toy on the block, Park Pals Collectabuilds. The first series of Collectabuilds, however, includes 12 different figures and 5 different cardboard attraction vehicles that you can construct. It is a cute idea but I think I would be more excited about it if there was a greater variety of figures as opposed to just different colorways of the same 6 characters.

If the “Park Pals” moniker sounds familiar, it’s because the name also belongs to an earlier style of character figure that you could clip onto things. A new figure was even released recently, the reindeer Pluto you see in the back row.

These hand sanitizer holders do a good job of adding a little whimsy to your effort to sanitize. Which is your favorite? I rather like the Tea Cups one.

These hand sanitizer gels held in these cases are made by Disney. But the bottle is removable so you can easily switch it with your preferred brand if you so chose.

Disney Home

Before I get started on this section, I want to mention that each item is sold separately. Some are grouped together for ease of discussion.

The apron and dishtowel themed to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room are perhaps the most practical of the ones you will see here. The stains that inevitably occur in the cooking process would be easiest to hide in their colorful print.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine , Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

Conversely, the Fantasyland apron and matching dishtowel are so fancy, with the large number of sequins and golden-hued accents, that I would be too nervous to use them for any in-depth recipes.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

While a slight improvement over the Fantasyland apron, the sequins on the Mickey Bar-themed apron and dish towel would likely suffer damage over time if you actually used them for cooking and cleaning.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine , Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

If I had to rank the practicality of each apron’s design, this Three Caballeros one would likely fall second, behind the Enchanted Tiki Room style. I think the dark color of the fabric combined with the design on the print would be more forgiving with spills and stains than the majority of the other aprons. I do, however, wonder if those little pompoms dangling from the bottom would hold up in the washing machine.

In terms of art, I think I like the Disneyland map-like print found on this oven mitts and dish towel the most. Unfortunately, like a good number of the kitchen linens we see in this section, it just doesn’t seem like it would be useful. The oven mitts are potentially passable because they don’t get as much use as an apron or a dish towel but such a light and delicate print is just asking to be ruined in the cooking/baking process.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

The Haunted Mansion design used on this oven mitt and dishtowel are a good mixture of clever implantation of ride elements and dark, patterned material, which as I have said, is more forgiving.

After admiring the art on this potholder and dish towel, I find myself craving an order of Mickey Waffles. The “recipe” of the front of the towel is a clever touch.

It is always interesting to see Orange Bird merchandise on this coast but here we are with an apron with the little guy’s face on it.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

Anything Alice in Wonderland-related immediately catches my eye. I love that tea cup’s “handle” near the wrist can be used to hang it on a hook or peg for easy access.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

Interestingly, while the rest of the dishtowels you see in this section are sold individually, these two Beauty and Beast-themed towels are available as a set.

The Disney Dress Shop

Frequent shoppers at the Parks will remember the Designer Ear Hats and Headbands released over the past two years. Previous models have included designs by the likes of Joe Rohde,  Jerrod Maruyama, and Heidi Klum. This particular Ear Hat was created by Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse in the new Mickey Shorts cartoons.

The Ear Hat comes with a drawstring bag to store it in.

Wondering what that “Try Me” tag means? Well, this Ear Hat talks! You can hear Bret Iwan speak as Mickey Mouse by pressing a button on the back on one of the ears. Watch (and hear) the Ear Hat in action in the video below.

Made to match the several pieces of holiday attire, like the Snowman Spirit Jersey (seen in this Merchandise Update), the print on this Dooney & Bourke shoulder bag is sprinkled with Mickey-themed Snowmen, a snow-capped castle, Mickey Mouse, and Minnie Mouse.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

In addition to the Snowman Mickey one, the Dress Shop also has other Dooney & Bourke bags in stock. These are particularly notable because they were originally sold at reservation-only shopping events previously held at Downtown Disney. The first bags we see here are inspired by Tangled. The crossbody and satchel, seen in the top and middle shelves, is covered in a print filled with floating lanterns, Corona’s sun symbol, and Pascal the chameleon. The tote, seen on the bottom shelf, features lovely art of the lost princess herself, Rapunzel.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

These two Disney pets totes come from the same earlier shopping as the Rapunzel set. Both sides of the bag include some of our favorite feline and canine buddies from Disney films.

I want to point out two critters in particular. One the cat bag, you’ll spot Charlotte’s childhood cat (the one with a froggy costume hood) from The Princess and the Frog. The opposite side of the dog bag (not pictured) has another pet from the movie, Stella, Big Daddy Le Bouf’s dog dressed as a Spartan warrior (boy, this family loves to dress up their pets!). Given that both of these characters are pretty obscure, I wonder if their inclusion is hinting at future merchandise for the upcoming Princess and the Frog re-theme of Splash Mountain.

Speaking of beloved furry friends, what do you think of this furry Marie backpack? It is pretty darn adorable!

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Cozy, Sparkle, and Shine

And if you love fuzzy things, you are going to adore these fluffy outerwear. Marie once again gets the spotlight in a zippered jacket while one of the 101 Dalmatians highlights the hoodie.

Beyond the pet-themed designs, you’ll also find this zippered jacket, covered in Mickey Mouse body parts.

Shoppers are also treated to some fuzziness with this new Spirit Jersey. The torso portion of the garment is made of fluffy fleece-like fabric.

shopDisney and Disney Parks

And now for something that is available not only at Disney Parks but also online at shopDisney: the new Magic Carpets of Aladdin series of Wishables! Within the series’s mystery bag, you’ll discover either Aladdin, Jasmine, the Flying Carpet, the Magic Lamp, or a mystery design (if it isn’t one of those spitting camels, I will be greatly disappointed). Genie is the chaser, so he is sold separately from the mystery bags.

And while the Wishables Genie may not have any magic powers of his own, by purchasing one of these mini plushes you help grant children’s wishes with Make a Wish. Disney has other merchandise that donates to the charity (the Wishes Come True Blue color collection and the Vintage Holiday Mickey plush) but unlike those, which only gift a portion of the sale, 100 percent of these Wishables’ sales will go to Make a Wish.

Genie and the series’s mystery bag were spotted at World of Disney in Downtown Disney.
