Following the debut of the popular Wishes Come True Blue color collection, the Walt Disney Company continues to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of their partnership with Make-A-Wish with a new Mickey Mouse plush and a brand new animated short film!
To mark the occasion, the plush unlocks another donation to Make-A-Wish, and is accompanied by a brand-new animated short film titled “From Our Family to Yours.”
In the film, Filipina lola (“grandmother” in Tagalog) connects with her granddaughter through their tradition of making parols, a star-shaped lantern, every Christmas. As a young child, Lola was given a Mickey Mouse doll by her father in 1940, which echoes her present-day relationship with her granddaughter.
“Christmas is a time for giving and giving back, and we’re delighted to debut this festive ad campaign supporting our long-term charity partner Make-A-Wish,” said Tasia Filippatos, senior vice president of Disney EME. “Our goal was to tell a universal story that inspires through the themes of family, love and special holiday traditions. We hope that Disney fans enjoy the short.”
The Voice Behind the Film
Griff, the 19-year-old British singer-songwriter who performs the song “Love Is A Compass” in the film, is a rising star known for her 2019 debut single “Mirror Talk,” which was released through Warner Records. The music video for the song has been viewed more than 475,000 times on her YouTube channel.
Griff was recently nominated for a prestigious Ivor Novello Rising Star Award.

The Mickey Mouse plush that’s featured in the animated short is available online at shopDisney.com.
For every Mickey Mouse Vintage Holiday Plush sold through January 31, 2021, shopDisney will donate 25% of the purchase price to Make-A-Wish, which will assist in making dreams come true for children with critical illnesses.
