Disney Believe: Everything We Know About Disney Cruise Line’s Newest Ship

Big Disney Believe cruise ship update! Disney Cruise Line’s October 7 reveal gave us the maiden voyage date, the stage show lineup, the restaurants, the lounges, and the Tower Suite. Everything new is below, and we’ll keep updating this guide as more details (and stateroom photos) arrive.

Disney Cruise Line is in the middle of an ambitious expansion, growing to a fleet of 13 ships in late 2030. Since D23 2024, the line has debuted three new ships: Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and Disney Adventure. Next in the queue is the Disney Believe, and we now know she’ll set sail on her maiden voyage on December 18, 2027, sailing 4- and 5-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with stops at one or both of Disney’s island destinations, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Bookings open October 19, 2026. This is our running guide to everything we know about her so far.

One note for anyone who’s sailed the Wish, Treasure, or Destiny: the Believe shares their layout, and many of her venues are familiar spaces reimagined with new stories. If you know your way around her sister ships, you’ll feel right at home.

The Disney Believe Ship at a Glance

The Disney Believe is the next new ship for Disney Cruise Line and the fourth in the Wish class, following the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, and Disney Destiny. Here’s the key info:

Maiden voyage: December 18, 2027
Homeport: Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Itineraries: 4- and 5-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean
Bookings open: October 19, 2026
Theme: Promise and possibilities, the belief in magic, family, nature, and yourself

Her opening cruise director will be Trent Hitchcock, who emceed the October 7 reveal alongside Tracy Wilson, Disney Cruise Line’s senior vice president and general manager of operations.

The Theme: Believe

The Disney Believe will honor the dreamers and doers who dare to pursue their own happily ever after. According to Imagineer Claire Weiss, the ship celebrates the belief in magic, family, the power of nature, and most importantly, believing in yourself. Every story told on board will be tied together by that thread of believing in something.

While the Disney Believe Reveal livestream was hosted by Hugo and Beatrice (portrayed by Tommy Bracco and Kara Lindsay from Newsies on Broadway), those characters will not be onboard the ship. 

Instead, you’ll meet two new storyteller characters wandering the ship: “Possibility Seekers” named Percival (a self-certified scholar and amateur stargazer) and Professor Philomena (a plantologist and nature empath).

Meet the Ship’s Characters

Disney Cruise Line ships wear their personalities on their hulls, and the Believe is no exception. Here’s who’s been announced for the bow, the stern, and the Grand Hall.

Bow: Tinker Bell

The bow character is the one and only Tinker Bell, who taught us all to believe in fairies. A fitting choice for a ship built around the idea of believing.

Stern: Buzz Lightyear and Woody

The stern characters will go to infinity and beyond for what they believe in. Yes, the odd couple from Toy Story will be hanging out together on the back of the ship.

“They’re actually drawing Believe, but they’re using crayons because they’re toys,” Claire said.

Maquettes of the stern characters were shown at D23 2026.

Grand Hall: Moana

The biggest reveal for any new Disney Cruise Line ship is always which character gets the honor of anchoring the Grand Hall. For the Disney Believe, that’s Moana.

“Moana’s is an epic adventure story about believing in yourself so she’s the perfect fit for this ship,” Claire said.

The October 7 reveal added new details: the Grand Hall chandelier moves like the sea itself, with the Heart of Te Fiti hidden within it. And Moana won’t be voyaging alone: her statue includes Pua and Heihei by her side.

A maquette of the Moana statue was shown at D23 2026, and a miniature bronze version was put on display in the Disney Cruise Line pavilion.

Disney Believe Entertainment

The October 7 reveal gave us the Walt Disney Theatre lineup: three shows: one world-first stage adaptation, plus two returning favorites with new twists.

Disney Seas the Adventure

A show starring Captain Minnie Mouse and Goofy, with Tinker Bell along for the ride.

Tangled: The Musical

A hit show from the Disney Magic crosses over to the Believe with reimagined set design and special effects exclusive to the new ship. It’s the familiar tale about believing in the power of your dreams, dressed up for a brand-new stage. Broadway star Susan Egan (the godmother of the Disney Destiny and a newly honored Disney Legend) performed “When Will My Life Begin” from the show at the reveal event.

Disney Encanto

The big surprise: Encanto is making the leap from screen to stage in the world’s first stage adaptation of the film, exclusively aboard the Disney Believe starting in 2027. Following Mirabel on her quest to save her family and their miraculous home, the production draws on diverse Colombian cultures with vibrant costuming, creative scenic design, and joyful traditional dance styles. Lin-Manuel Miranda announced it himself via video message, and the show features his hits from the film, including “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” and “Surface Pressure.”

Gazelle

A multi-level entertainment hub that captures the spirit of Zootopia’s bustling city, where anyone from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew can be anything if they believe in themselves. By day it hosts trivia, games, and character encounters; by night it shifts to adult-exclusive entertainment, silent discos, and variety acts. And for the first time on Disney Cruise Line, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde star in a new family show that asks guests to help them solve their latest case.

Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party

A nighttime spectacular across the ship and sky, with a live rock band and Disney Cruise Line’s famous fireworks at sea.

AquaMouse

Disney Cruise Line’s signature attraction at sea returns: a 760-foot water ride that drops riders into a Mickey Mouse animated short. Aboard the Believe, Mickey and Minnie star in “Port Adventures,” from the snowy slopes of “Swiss Meltdown” to the villainous hijinks of “Sing a Silly Song.” Little ones get their own Toy Story-themed water wonderland with a splash zone, wading pool, family waterslide, and smoothie bar.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club

Kids ages 3 to 10 get five themed areas: Marvel Super Hero Academy, Fairytale Hall, Star Wars: Cargo Bay, the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, and Mickey and Minnie’s Captain’s Deck. Exclusive to the Believe, the entrance itself is themed to Monsters, Inc., complete with “Caution: 2319” tape and a figure of Mike Wazowski with his laugh canister.

Disney Believe Dining

Oaken’s Table: A Frozen Family Feast

The Believe’s theater-in-the-round restaurant is a brand-new, untold chapter of the Frozen story. Set in a sommerhus courtyard deep within the forest, Oaken and his family invite everyone to dine together while his cousins play their own reimagined renditions of famous tunes from the Frozen soundtracks. Favorite characters stop by, including Oaken, Anna, and Kristoff. It follows the same dinner-show format as Arendelle on the Wish, Pride Lands on the Treasure, and Plaza de Coco.

1923

Returning from her sister ships, 1923 celebrates the legacy of Disney animation with more than 1,000 drawings, props, and animation tools pulled from the Walt Disney Archives, spotlighting stories like Lilo & Stitch, Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story, and Peter Pan.

Worlds of Marvel

Also returning: Worlds of Marvel, this time with “Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix,” where the whole family eats to the beat of an awesome mix alongside Rocket and Groot.

Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods

The open-air food court on the upper decks returns with barbecue, cantina bowls, pizza, burgers, and soft-serve. Exclusive to the Believe: Pluto’s Pita Platters, with a Mediterranean-inspired menu of kebabs and pitas with garnishes and dips. Pluto’s Platters will share the space with Mickey’s Smokestack Barbecue.

Café Kakamora

A café named after the curious piratical coconut creatures who are both friend and foe to Moana, drawing inspiration from Motunui, her storied island. A story about the healing power of friendship, told over coffee and tea.

Big Hero Sips

A warm and inviting coffee shop inspired by San Fransokyo from Big Hero 6. Just imagine Baymax asking you to rate your cappuccino on a scale of one to ten.

All the coffee spots onboard Disney Believe will serve the white chocolate coconut Royal Voyage Latte, the first time a Disney ship has offered an exclusive coffee drink.

Inside Out: Joyful Sweets

The sweet shop returns with new characters from Inside Out 2, larger-than-life sculptures of Joy, Sadness, Anxiety, Envy, and the “Sense of Self” structure, and a reimagined menu with nearly 20 flavors of gelato and ice cream plus daily handcrafted specials.

There will also be new ice cream treats, including orange and chocolate ice cream with a hard orange shell and Anxiety’s signature spiky hair in dark chocolate.

Lounges & Bars

Wishing Well

A Snow White-inspired lounge set in an enchanting courtyard, with a canopy of white blossoms and red apples on one side. Furnishings come draped in the bold colors of Snow White’s gown, with hand-carved wood framing on the stage nodding to the Seven Dwarfs’ cottage and an ornate bar with a stained glass art piece evoking a gothic castle. Live music and activities run throughout the sailing. The menu leans into the fairy tale, including a mischievous potion brewed by a queen who would stop at nothing to be the fairest of them all. Keep an eye out, too: the reveal teased a magic mirror Easter egg hidden somewhere else on the ship. Hmmmm…

One of the signature cocktails at Wishing Well will be Peddler’s Disguise made with Green apple, elderflower, vanilla, white cranberry juice, lime juice, and Fever-Tree Lime Yuzu Soda. The glass will magically change colors when filled with its potion. 

Sea Notes

A whimsical musical underwater kingdom inspired by The Little Mermaid, with an elegant pearlescent piano described as a forgotten treasure from Ariel’s grotto.

Signature cocktails at Sea Notes will include the Sea Salt Martini made with Mermaid Sea Salt Vodka, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, cucumber juice, and Cocchi Americano Aperitif, topped with salted coconut sea foam, beet leaf microgreens.

Under the Seaweed, the non-alcoholic version, will be made with Lyre’s Tequila Alternative, cucumber juice, coconut water, lime juice, and blue curacao syrup topped with nori seaweed and salted coconut sea foam.

Both versions will be served  in an opulent seashell-inspired glass. 

Skygazers

An astronomer’s observatory lounge with towering bookshelves and celestial maps, where the constellations nod to classic Disney stories. Look closely and you’ll spot Jiminy Cricket and Mufasa among the stars. It’s pitched as a place where grown-up dreamers can dream, under a story-filled evening sky, with craft brews, specialty cocktails, light bites, and live sports on the screens.

Signature cocktails at Skygazers will include Moonshine made with Roku Gin, Dassai Blue 50 Sake, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, Cocchi Americano Aperitif, and a moon aroma bubble.

The non-alcoholic Starshine will be made with Seedlip Garden 108 Distilled Non-Alcoholic Spirit, Origami Zero Non-Alcoholic Sake, white grape, yuzu, elderflower, and a moon aroma bubble.

Haunted Mansion Parlor

It’s official: the Haunted Mansion Parlor returns on the Believe, with an all-new menu of spirited craft cocktails and mocktails developed exclusively for the ship. Foolish mortals welcome.

More for Adults

Returning favorites round out the grown-up side of the ship: Palo Steakhouse, Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, and The Rose for dinner and drinks; the Quiet Cove infinity pool; Senses Spa and fitness; plus the Untangled Salon and Hook’s Barbery.

Disney Believe Staterooms

The Believe Tower Suite

The Believe’s funnel suite is a one-of-a-kind, two-story Tower Suite inspired by the Magic Kingdom. At nearly 2,000 square feet, it sleeps eight with two main bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, all with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the top decks. Each room nods to a different Magic Kingdom land, and the living room features fireworks- and balloon-inspired light fixtures plus an art piece depicting Cinderella Castle. The reading room goes full Frontierland with a Big Thunder Mountain Railroad mural. (Fun detail from the reveal: Hugo and Beatrice “snuck in” to take a look, so we’ve already seen inside.)

Royal Suites

Four royal suites were revealed, in two designs. The Royal Rose Suites take cues from Beauty and the Beast: two-story suites with a spiral staircase, a dining room, and the enchanted rose rendered in stained glass, with bedrooms evoking Belle (gold and blue) and the Beast (deep sapphires). The Royal Reef Suites go under the sea with a Little Mermaid theme: oceanic teal and coral pink, scallop-shell edges, pearlescent and driftwood finishes, and a bathroom with a tub overlooking the ocean.

Concierge Staterooms

Concierge guests get a dedicated lounge themed to the surreal world of Alice in Wonderland, plus a private sun deck with complimentary food and beverages. The concierge verandah stateroom is Peter Pan themed, with a mural of the flight over London and Big Ben above the bed. The one-bedroom concierge suite keeps things elegant with botanical wallpaper and kite-flying artwork. Seven special oceanview rooms evoke the playful spirit of Toy Story, with floor-to-ceiling views.

Verandah, Oceanview, and Inside Staterooms

The standard staterooms carry all-new papercut-style artwork inspired by Moana, Coco, The Lion King, Inside Out, and Zootopia above the bed, with a “Believe” bed runner. Seventy percent of staterooms include a verandah, and more than 450 connecting doors make larger family configurations easy. The verandah rooms even sleep the kids in style, with bunk beds tucked into their own nook.

Solarium Staterooms

The solarium staterooms sit beneath the ship’s upper decks with big angled windows, and they’re Toy Story themed, with Woody and Jessie riding through the desert above the bed.

All staterooms will share the same color palette and interior design (regardless of the theme).

Hallway Theming

Hallway carpets are themed to Moana and Inside Out.

Themed mail clips will include:

• Decks 2, 6, 7 – Moana
• Decks 8,9 – Coco
• Decks 10, 11 – Inside Out
• Decks 12,13 – Peter Pan

The Bigger Fleet Picture

Looking past the Believe, Disney Cruise Line will introduce an entirely new class of ship starting in 2029. The new class will be larger than the classic ships (Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Dream) but smaller than the bigger ships (Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, Disney Believe, and Disney Adventure).

Disney Cruise Line also announced that the Disney Wish will head to Europe for the first time this summer, and that it’s doubling the number of cruises sailing out of San Diego.
