We are edging into that time of year when we start to contemplate what holiday gifts to give to our loved ones. To help get your creative shopping brainstorming started, I have compiled a guide with 10 items that I think would make nice presents for the holiday season. For the most part, they are not holiday-themed, just great gift ideas. You can find my recommendations for seasonal items in my recent Disney Holiday Merchandise Update. 1. Jungle Cruise Adventure Game ($44.95)
I don’t know about your family, but mine is definitely missing visiting Disney Parks and enjoying attractions. And while that isn’t a possibility for many of us, enjoying a game night certainly is. This game, inspired by the Jungle Cruise, has two to four players transporting cargo and passengers as they make their way down the board. Every part of this game simply radiates the details (and the humor) seen in the beloved Disney attraction. I particularly like that the “Navigation Cards” contain jokes that you would hear while riding at the Parks. This is Disney Parks version of the board game with slight differences, like the boats looking more like the original ride vehicles, but the overall game is the same.

2. Pixar Art Puzzle ($24.99)
Puzzles are a great way to spend the time when you are stuck at home, regardless of whether it because of snowy weather or a pandemic. If you are going to do a puzzle, you really cant’t go wrong with a Ravensburger one. I have done several myself. The pieces are very sturdy, which I appreciate. The company has made many puzzles with Disney art but only a few are available on shopDisney. I selected this one for several reasons. It consists of 1000 pieces so it will take some time (which I consider a good thing). And not only is the art used interesting but it doesn’t have a lot of areas that are a single color, which makes it a little bit easier to put together if you have kids helping you out.

3. Sleeping Beauty Storybook Replica Journal ($29.99)
Remember how Disney animated films began with the opening of a storybook? Some of those books were replicated and turned into journals. There are also journals for Robin Hood, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, The Sword and the Stone (unfortunately sold out), as well as Enchanted but my favorite is the Sleeping Beauty one. This hardcover journal features about 250 pages, each with gilded edges. The lined pages have art of Princess Aurora in the corners. But the biggest draw here (besides the cover) is the inclusion of several full-page illustrations seen in the film, and in this case, from the book in the film. Whether you love journaling or just appreciate Disney history and art, this is sure to be a treasured possession.

4. Mickey Mouse and Friends 2020 Holiday Train Set ($139.99)
You may recall seeing this electronic train set in our coverage of the holiday merchandise at Downtown Disney. Well, it is also available at shopDisney! The Mickey and Friends Holiday Train set is such a hit every year that I think the if you or a loved one doesn’t already own one but are train fans, it is a gift option worth exploring. The set includes the locomotive, coal tender, skating carol car, caboose, and oil tanker car along with 22 feet of track, two lamp posts, and a radio transmitter for controlling the train. When the train is running, it plays Christmas carols, the headlight on the locomotive turns on, and several characters on different cars move.

5. Cars Mini Racers Advent Calendar ($19.99)
We featured an Advent Calendar filled with themed Disney Animators Collection Littles figures in a previous Merchandise Update and now here’s one stuffed with Cars goodies. The advent calendar includes five die-cast mini racers: Lightning McQueen, Tow Mater, Jackson Storm, Cruz Ramirez, and Manny Flywheel. Other items include pieces of track and accessories to make for fun, wintery race. I love the idea of this one so much and I think a lot of kids (and adults) will enjoy it.

6. Vanellope with “Comfy Princess” Doll Set ($119.99)
Perhaps the best part of Ralph Breaks the Internet was Vanellope meeting the Disney Princesses and introducing them to comfier attire. This set contains dolls of all of the girls in one big box. And I appreciate that the princesses’ faces are painted to fit the style seen in the movie, rather than just slapping the clothes on a standard doll of the character. Each of the dolls are articulated and several even come with accessories, such as Moana’s coconut beverage or Jasmine’s lamp. This would be a fun gift for any fan of Disney Princesses or you doll collectors out there.

7. Winnie the Pooh Lounge Pants for Women ($24.99, Currently Marked Down to $20)
Made of knit fabric, these women’s lounge pants look super-comfy. The stretchy waist and cuffs should help keep the warmth in but not feel constricting (and around the holidays, I feel like that is especially important). And if you do need a little bit of a snugger fit around the waist, there is a drawstring. The cheerful print of Winnie the Pooh flying in the sky with balloons adds a touch of whimsy and I love the art style used. It reminds me of the pictures made with those rubber stamps found in stationery stores.

8. Mickey Mouse Lounge Pants for Men ($24.99, Currently Marked Down to $20)
I also selected a pair of lounge pants for men because, not only would it make a cute couples gift when paired with the previous item, but they look like a great piece of Disney apparel in their own right. Like the women’s lounge pants, these have an elastic waist with a drawstring. The print features Mickey Mouse in the art style seen in the new Mickey Shorts. Some of the mouse’s well-known phrases like “Oh Boy!” are sprinkled around as well (although I wish they included “Hot Dog!” in the mix).

9. Disney Princess Deluxe Sleep Set for Girls ($49.99)
Disney describes this as a “Deluxe” sleep set and I honestly have to agree with them. It includes a nightgown, a robe, and an eye mask, all themed to Disney Princesses. The nightgown is long-sleeved and made of jersey knit fabric. It has princess art with gold foil lines on the front, ribbon details, as well as a mesh skirt overlay, almost giving it the appearance of fancy dress attire. The robe is satin with a stretching waistback for comfort. And the padded, satin-covered sleep mask reads “The Princess is Sleeping.”

10. Toy Story Alien Pixar Remix Pajama Set for Boys ($22.99)
The Toy Story Alien Pixar Remix is a collection of merchandise in which the Toy Story Alien cosplays as different characters from Pixar movies (not just Toy Story). This pajama set is part of that collection. On the pants, you’ll spot artwork of the cosplaying Aliens. It has an elastic waist, like the lounge pants from earlier. However, a drawstring is not built in this time. The included shirt, which is more simple (but nonetheless endearing), just has an Alien being “chosen” by “The Claw.” It is a ringer tee with raglan sleeves.
