The calendar still says October but my mind is already drifting towards the Holiday season. And shopDisney is entirely to blame. They already have a seasonal section all set up. So before we get to the Downtown Disney portion of this Update, I wanted to share some of the highlights from the online store’s offerings.

First, an ADORABLE new visitor from a galaxy far, far away!

Here we go . . .

The Child: Animatronic Edition – Cute or Creepy?

The first batch of Hasbro’s The Child: Animatronic Edition is making its way to their new owners and we’ve got one to show off! The main feature is that touching the top of his head causes giggling, babbling, and other sounds (from the doll – not you), all with accompanying motions. Additionally, laying the little guy on his back will make him fall asleep (the process is cuter than it sounds).

The Child: Animatronic Edition is currently sold out on shopDisney but we spotted some in stock over at Hasbro Pulse. He retails for $59.99. Did you order one already? I have a feeling these are going to be VERY popular this Christmas.

shopDisney’s Flurry of Holiday Merchandise

The Holiday section on shopDisney is impressively vast. There are so many types of items such as toys, apparel, and home goods that I could never show them all to you. Rather than detail every piece in the section (it would be December by the time I am done!), I’ve curated a selection of what I feel are the most noteworthy items.

Apparel

Face masks are getting dressed up for the holidays, with two options of themed 2-packs to choose from ($11.99 for each 2-pack). The Mickey Mouse and Friends Holiday set is my favorite of the options. I don’t know if it it’s the inclusion of cookies or the holiday plaid but this set just speaks to my sensibilities. The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Joy set focuses solely on the Big Cheese and his Main Squeeze. The Minnie face mask feels a tad plain but the pattern on Mickey’s mask, reminiscent of old holiday sweaters, is adorable. I would not be surprised to see that print on other merchandise later on.

The Face Mask 2-Packs are available here: Mickey Mouse and Friends Holiday / Mickey and Minnie Mouse Joy.

Holiday Advent Calendars are fun for any age. These sock-filled ones, available for Men or for Women ($29.99 each), not only provide a moment of entertainment but also some pretty cool socks afterward. Each Advent Calendar, regardless of which gender set you purchased, includes six pairs of crew cut socks and six pairs of low cut socks.

The Holiday Advent Sock Calendars are available here: for Men / for Women.

I can almost smell peppermint when I look at this Mickey Mouse “Holiday Cheer” Spirit Jersey ($74.99). One of the notable details that sets this Jersey apart from ones I have seen previously is that it has embroidered details, such as the Mickey appliqué on the chest and the wording on the back.

The Mickey Mouse “Holiday Cheer” Spirit Jersey for Adults is available here.

The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Holiday Family Sweater Collection supplies a lovely outfit option for the photos on those holiday greeting cards. The Mickey Mouse Holiday Sweater is available for Men ($49.99 to $54.99) and Boys ($34.95). Details in this sweater include a pom pom on Mickey’s Santa cap as well as metallic thread accents. The Minnie Mouse Holiday Sweater for Women (and $49.99 to $54.99) and Girls ($34.95) has colored sequins sewn onto the “Christmas lights” in the design.

The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Holiday Family Sweater Collection is available here: Mickey (Men or Boys) / Minnie (Women or Girls).

This Disney Villains Holiday Sweater ($49.99) is another cold-weather option. Plus, the thing lights up! There are little, multicolor LED lights embedded into the weave on the front, which are activated with a press of a button.

The Disney Villains Light-Up Holiday Sweater for Adults is available here.

There is a whole bunch of Holiday Plaid sleepwear available for this winter. Here are the four most interesting pieces (you can find the whole set here). One of the fun touches found in these items, besides the wonderful plaid fabric, is that each one has an embroidered character appliqué. The Holiday Plaid Robe for Adults ($49.99) as well as the Holiday Plaid Pajama Pants for Men ($29.99) star Mickey Mouse. Minnie Mouse can be found on the Holiday Plaid Nightshirt for Women ($34.99). And Pluto makes an appearance on the Holiday Plaid Nightshirt for Dogs ($27.99). Yes, the dog gets its own nightshirt and I love it.

You can find these items here: Holiday Plaid Robe for Adults / Holiday Plaid Pajama Pants for Men / Holiday Plaid Nightshirt for Women /  Holiday Plaid Nightshirt for Dogs.

This last set of apparel makes me quite hungry. It’s decorated with sweets! For adults, there is this Bodysuit ($39.99). I am not personally a fan of these but they must have some appeal because companies keep making them. Girls are treated to a simply adorable Nightshirt ($19.99) while Boys get a PJ Pals set ($19.99). There is also a PJ Pals set for Baby ($16.99) that looks a lot like the one for Boys. And finally, the family pup is treated to more sleeping attire with this Nightshirt ($14.99). I must confess up until this holiday season, I didn’t even know puppy PJs were a thing. Did you?

Home Goods

I don’t know about you but baking cookies has been a much-loved part of my family’s holiday traditions for as long as I can remember, and this apron ($22.99) looks like the perfect one for the occasion. Not only is the print covered in gingerbread Mickey and Minnie’s, accompanied by cookie snowflakes and Christmas trees, but the ribbon trim looks just like peppermint candy canes. The pocket reads “Baking Spirits Bright,” is also decorated with different appliqué cookies.

The Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Holiday Apron for Adults is available here.

We saw this Baking Set ($39.99) back in the Summer during Disney’s Christmas in July online event. If you don’t have these tools already, this set is an adorably festive option. It includes two different sizes of spatulas, topped with decorated silicone paddles, two cookie cutters (one of Mickey and one of Minnie), and a mixing bowl.

The Mickey Mouse and Friends Holiday Baking Set is available here.

Put those homemade cookies to good use by gifting some to Santa Claus. The time-honored tradition of leaving a plate of cookies and a glass of milk for St. Nick gets even cuter when you factor in this set ($24.99). I love that the straw is included with the “Ice cold milk for Santa” resembles a candy cane. So sweet!

The Mickey Mouse Milk and Cookies Set is available here.

This cookie jar ($49.99) looks sweet enough to eat! All the detail added into all four of its sides are nothing short of magical. Not only are there gingerbread versions of Mickey and Minnie but also Goofy, Donald, and Daisy. Plus, the house is decorated with all sorts of “candy” details. I love the addition of the peppermint not-so Hidden Mickeys.

The Mickey Mouse and Friends Holiday Cookie Jar is available here.

If Advent Calendars aren’t your thing, but you still want to count down to the holidays, this Countdown Calendar Castle ($44.99) is the ticket. As darling as the other cookie-themed items are, this one takes the cake. It is so pretty that I just want to stare at for a while . . . and then eat some cookies.

The Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Holiday Countdown Calendar Castle is available here

This Fleece Throw ($34.99) is a good size, measuring 50 inches by 60 inches. It’s reversible with one side covered in a holiday-themed print and the other with faux fleece (plus a little Santa Mickey and Minnie appliqué in the corner). While the appliqué certainly adds a dash of color to the fleece side, I can’t help wondering if the change in texture is off-putting in practice for some.

The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Holiday Fleece Throw is available here.

This pillow ($34.99) is positively bursting with holiday spirit. I love the Mickey and Minnie appliqué and the inclusion of a toy soldier. The candy-striped trim fits perfectly. I bet it would look great paired with the throw we just saw.

The Mickey and Minnie Mouse Holiday Throw Pillow is available here.

Toys

Two wintery additions to the Disney Babies line come to us in the form of Mickey and Minnie ($29.99 each). As the name suggests, the characters are much younger than we usually see them. I always love the prints used on the pouches and this time is no exception. And can we appreciate that Minnie’s bow is decorated with a peppermint candy?

These items are available here: Mickey Mouse / Minnie Mouse.

This Pluto plush ($16.99) is a very good boy. He brought us a candy cane and look how proud he is! And in case we can’t already tell this is a holiday plush, Pluto is also donning reindeer antlers and attached peppermint candy charm to his collar.

The Pluto Holiday Plush is available here.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

Apparently, they do in fact celebrate the holidays in galaxies far, far away and this Porg ($16.99) is proof! Even though it is pretty much just Disney adding a scarf and hat to an earlier-released plush, I can’t help but find it charming. And doesn’t the little guy look like he is in the midst of singing carols? Or is that just me?

The Porg Holiday Plush is available here.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

Groot ($16.99) seems to have gotten himself tangled up in a mess of Christmas lights. Unfortunately, the little lights don’t actually light-up. They are just embroidered appliqués. It should also be noted that while he looks similar to the plush that rides on your shoulder, this one does not have that ability.

The Groot Holiday Plush is available here.

Part of the Disney Store’s 2020 Holiday Special Edition Doll Collection, Ariel ($49.99) is dressed in her cold-weather finest. Her dress is packed with detail, with a velvet bodice, satin skirt, faux fur trim around around the neckline and hem, and gold accents. She is posable and comes with a display stand. Any Little Mermaid fans looking to add her to your collection?

The Ariel 2020 Holiday Special Edition Doll is available here.

This Advent Calendar ($44.99) is packed with 24 different figures from the Disney Animators’ Collection Littles Series. Some pieces are characters while others are furniture or other accessories. You can see every item included in the shop listing but you won’t know what day yields what figure until you open the door.

The Disney Animators’ Collection Littles Advent Calendar is available here.

Wonders from World of Disney

Over at World of Disney in Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District, a number of new pieces of merchandise have hit the shelves.

Are You Team Princess . . .

This water bottle looks a lot like the Princess mug we saw last week.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

If you are a fan of the art used on the water bottle, then you’ll love these stickers. The princesses represented are Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Tiana, and Moana.

Or Team Villain?

If you prefer the darker side of things, there are villains stickers, too. The baddies available are Hades, Dr. Facilier, Maleficent, Ursula, and The Evil Queen.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

The Maleficent graphic from the sticker is used on this V-neck tank top. I love the use of words mixed with the art.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

This hoodie also features Maleficent, along with her raven Diablo and her dragon form. The stone-washed appearance of the fabric works well with it.

Ursula takes center stage on this crop-top, first seen in the Disney Parks Halloween Merchandise Preview way back when.

Odds & Ends

This denim button-up shirt looks very similar to some of the apparel sold in the 90s. It even has embroidered art of Mickey and friends on the front.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

I’m also getting old-school vibes from this denim jacket, covered with Minnie Mouse art. Do you think it would pair well with the denim button-up or would it be overkill?

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

Even more merchandise for The Child (he will always be “Baby Yoda” to me) has cropped up in the form of this kids pajama set. The highlight is the graphic on the top, which uses double-side sequins on The Child’s face to make him either awake or napping.

And now for my favorite from this Update, here we have a plush of Up’s Dug as part of the Disney Babies line. Not only is the plush himself positively (paws-itively?) precious but the print on his pouch such lovely detail. It is covered with all of the pup’s favorite things, squirrels, tennis balls, and some of Kevin’s feathers.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the Holidays

The fact that this contactless door opener is needed is rather depressing but covering it with the Haunted Mansion’s wallpaper pattern makes it a little less so. If you aren’t familiar with this type of item, you insert your index finger into the hole and use the hook to grab the door handle or press elevator buttons. While some contactless door openers have tips that double as styluses for use on keypads, this one doesn’t appear to.

, Disney Merchandise Update: Baby Yoda for the HolidaysHere’s a different kind of “sad.” Once again, leftovers from the latest Downtown Disney shopping event have made their way to World of Disney. . . exclusive no more . . .
