If you have ever walked into a shop at Disneyland, then you’re well-acquainted with all the eyecatching selections that Disney has to offer. This week, we split our Disneyland Merchandise Update in two because there were so many fun, new items that have sprung up at the Disneyland Resort. You can catch the first portion of the update here. Highlights in part two include a new take on the Disneyland logo and a salute to Space Mountain. Grab your piggie banks because there’s a lot you’re going to like!
Love Is In The Air
Valentine’s Day is coming up and guests at the Resort might feel inclined to pick up a souvenir for that special Disney-loving someone (if you can’t make it to Disneyland, I would recommend our Valentine’s Day Gift Guide). And to save you from scouring stores in search of just the right thing, Disney has provided lovey-dovey displays in several retail locations, loaded with timely gifts.

Themed merchandise includes items like a locket with Mickey and Minnie on the front, a charm bracelet with Hidden Mickey message candies, and the Disney version of a Silly Band made in different shades of red and pink.

I also spotted this Mickey and Minnie plush pair (seen on the left). The embroidery on the heart says “I Love You! 2020,” not to be confused with “I love you 3000.” On the right is a St. Patrick’s Day Mickey plush, which is also currently sold at the Resort.

Disney Goes Retro (Again)
The Wear It Proud Collection of apparel and accessories recently landed. It is notable for its bold font style and bright color scheme.

I got some major old school vibes from these Goof Troop shirts:

Much like some of the other retro movie merchandise, the cover art from Disney VHS tapes is used on several different styles of shirts.

Mice In SPACE!!
Space Mountain in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom celebrated its 45 year anniversary on January 15. And some of the related merchandise has made its way to this coast. The majority of the products were apparel but a few other fun pieces were included as well.

On the left is another look at the Space Mountain mug (complete with spiky lid). The giant one on the right is actually a cookie jar.

In addition to the clothing seen at the start of this section, I also spotted a camp shirt with many tiny Space Mountains covering it, as well as a windbreaker (found in the next picture down) featuring a stylized depiction of the attraction.

Odds and Ends
Two new shirts with matching leggings (sold separately) arrived at Disneyland. Following the trend of the Disney cats and dogs shirt/leggings combos, comes a pair themed to our animated avian friends. A Pooh-themed “Oh Bother” shirt with yellow leggings is a fun choice, too.

Disney’s Park Life line now has a Disney Dress Shop dress to call its own and fittingly, it matches the one worn by the Minnie plush in that line.

Two more Ear Headbands have emerged. The first one has two faux peony blooms instead of the typical “ears.” The second is this year’s graduation Ear Headband, which is pretty much the same as previous year’s except it says “Class of 2020” on the band.

These plush cosplay hair clips are a fun way to show off a little love for Minnie, Marie, or Rainbow Unicorn. The first two are simply a pair of ears but Rainbow Unicorn’s set also includes a plush horn with a small “mane.”

You’ve seen Shoulder Groot and Shoulder Porg. Now, meet Shoulder Pascal! That’s right, this little plush of Rapunzel’s chameleon buddy uses magnets to perch on your shoulder. I think Pascal is the best implementation of the shoulder plush concept yet. The character is life-size (or thereabouts) and would make a perfect Disneybound accessory.

A new month means a new series of Wishables. January’s entry was the Disney Parks Icons Series and included Spaceship Earth, the Tree of Life, the Hollywood Tower Hotel, and Pixar Pal-a-Round, plus Sleeping Beauty Castle as a chaser (if you are shopping in Walt Disney World, you’ll find Cinderella’s Castle instead).
