It feels like it’s been a while since we’ve had a Disneyland Merchandise Update. And boy, do we have a lot of ground to cover. In fact, there is just so much stuff that we had to split this update in two! This portion includes several new lines honoring Mickey and Minnie along with a collection celebrating all things Pixar.

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E

The first set of merchandise we’ll look at today is from a line called Mickey: The True Original. It has several pieces of apparel that allow guests to dress like Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

This Mickey hoodie is a redesign of a previous hoodie that was available at the Resort. Note the faux gloves on the sleeves. This style as well as the Minnie variant are available in both Adult and Kid sizes.

This one is an interesting take on the Mickey design. It is a stylized Mickey t-shirt with a mouse-eared hood.

Here is the Minnie version of the hoodie. Like the Mickey one, it is a redesign of a previously available item.

Minnie also gets a hooded t-shirt. As you expect, her hood not only includes mouse ears but a bow as well.

Throwbacks Are Here to Stay

A new Retro Character collection was also released recently. It includes clothing for kids and adults as well as accessories. We’ll look at the adult apparel first.

This display is from Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street. Among the apparel, you will spy a cinch backpack and several cups and mugs.

The zippered hoodie shares the same print as the joggers.

That same print is seen on this pullover hoodie on the right. The women’s shirt on the left features colorful Minnie art.

Now moving onto the clothing for the younger set. This is certainly a colorful bunch of clothing.

Minnie, a Mouse of Many Hats

The Minnie Rock the Dots line of clothing and accessories returns for another year. Loungefly contributed two pieces to this line, a mini-backpack and a wristlet.

Along with the everyday wear, there is also a Disney Dress Shop dress in this style. Wouldn’t this dress look adorable with the Loungefly mini-backpack or wristlet?

The Main Attraction Really Is Minnie

The first entry in the monthly series, Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction, celebrates Space Mountain. It has been so popular that items are selling out fast and many are already gone. Some of the items, namely the plush and Loungefly mini-backpack, were still available at the Resort, at the time of writing. The plush was found at Disneyland’s Emporium while the mini-backpack is from the adjacent Fortuosity Shop.

Also for sale at The Fortuosity Shop was the limited edition Main Street Minnie Doll, which was released alongside the Main Attraction series. There was also a teaser display for next month’s collection, Pirates of the Caribbean, available starting February 15.

Speaking of dolls, several stylized Minnie Mouse (and Mickey Mouse) are now sold at the Resort. The first two bigger doll sets have the emblem denoting Disney Parks merchandise while the other smaller boxed dolls just have a simple Disney one. One of the boxes, the one on the right in the last picture, doesn’t match the other ones. The included doll has a slightly different mold as well. I wonder if this was intentional…

The Wonderful World of Pixar

If you have ever watched a Disney-Pixar film, you probably noticed the colorful Luxo Ball from the intro. The Luxo Ball now has its own set of merchandise, including a Spirit Jersey and an ear headband by Loungefly.

Next up is the World of Pixar collection, which highlights the many beloved characters from Disney-Pixar films. I really love the stylized art.

Here is a look inside the Notebook Set, seen in the above photo. It contains tons of different styles of sticky notes.

In addition to the World of Pixar Collection, Finding Nemo received several of its own pieces of merchandise. That flock of seagulls (I can hear their cries now) was featured on quite a few different items along with a few of Dory and Bruce.

This mug has a little seagull sitting at the bottom. As if you needed an incentive to finish your coffee.

At first glance, these mini-purses resemble the pass cases sold at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. They are unfortunately not, but they’re close though! They only have a zippered compartment, compared to the Japanese version that also has an outer sleeve to hold your Annual Pass. The Japanese pass cases also have a reel-clip in addition to the removable neck/shoulder strap. Our version has a removable shoulder strap and a removable strap to transform the pouch into a wristlet. Which style do you prefer?

The zipper pull on the Mike Wazowski purse is a small sock. The other purses are just standard zippers.

Toy Story 4 gets a new addition to its plush toy roster in the form of Gabby Gabby. She is a relatively good size, about to-scale compared with plush Woody and Buzz, and even has an embroidered pull-tag sewn on her back.

I saved the absolute best (in my opinion) for last, Coco-inspired alebrije. There are ones of Dante, Frieda Kahlo’s monkey, Mama Imelda’s Pepita (this one costs more because of its size), and a chihuahua. These four collectibles were found at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff on Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure.
