So much has happened on the merchandise front since our last update. Highlights include not one, but two new color collections, Fourth of July items, and more merchandise celebrating the debut of Tale of the Lion King over at Disney California Adventure. We’ve also sprinkled in other fun new finds for your enjoyment.

Everybody neat and pretty? Then, on with the show!

Make it Pink! Make it Metallic!

Joining the ranks of previous collections like Potion Purple and Briar Rose Gold, are Imagination Pink and Magic Mirror Metallic. Let’s look at Imagination Pink’s offerings first.

Two-sided sequin designs seem to be en vogue now (and you’ll be seeing more of them in this post). Both this tote and the Mickey silhouette tee utilize this technique.

And what would a new color collection be without an accompanying Spirit Jersey? The mannequin here is also sporting the Imagination Pink ears.

A keen eye may have caught that I haven’t been listing all of the items in these photos. That is mainly because I wanted to give you a better look at them. Behold, the Imagination Pink Loungefly mini-backpack (that was a mouthful) along with the bracelet and necklace belonging to this collection.

There is also a keychain with the same design as the necklace.

Onto the Magic Mirror Metallic Collection!

Disneyland Merchandise

Like the Imagination Pink collection, this one also has its respective ears and similarly designed keychain.

Playing off of the “magic mirror” concept, this travel tumbler bears a portion of the memorable Snow White quote on one side along with a “mirror” on the other. Trust me when I say that this one is super-shiny.

Loungefly once again has their own pieces for this collection. But unlike the usual mouse-ear and sequin design, these are translucent with little reflective Mickey heads printed on them. It is a nice change of pace. And with the security checks at the Resort entrances, I can’t help but wonder if these will make things just a bit easier than the others.

Interestingly, there is not a Spirit Jersey for this collection. There are, however, a pair of sandals (interesting choice, if you ask me), a smartphone case, and a more traditional Mickey tee with a reflective print.

One thing that I have noticed with these color collections is that they seem to be made with women in mind. The tees are mostly women’s cuts, for example. I think Disney is doing male collectors a real disservice here. Speak up guys, would you buy a wallet, men’s style shirt, bowtie, perhaps even a belt in whatever the latest pattern or color is?

Celebrating Independence (from your money) Day

It’s not that far away from the Fourth of July, so Disney is bringing out all the red, white and blue merchandise that will fit on the shelves. Seriously, there is a ton of it.

They also released a new ear headband for the occasion. The colors on it are slightly muted to give it an old-timey feel.

The side of the headband reads “Land that I love.”

In addition to the two displays shown previously, there is also a long wall of apparel. This, of course, includes two new Spirit Jerseys.

Disneyland Merchandise

The blue one is the adult’s version. The front just has the small Mickey head in the corner, like the one on the white children’s one. The back of the children’s Spirit Jersey is identical to the adult’s but their front side is more interesting, with the addition of stars near the bottom.

Other items of note include a fanny pack with Minnie on it (once again, apologies to the men), and a light-up necklace.

Disneyland Merchandise

But they’ve got this for you guys: a cap with a bottle opener under the bill (for soda, of course).

A Lion of a Tale

The Tale of the Lion King recently debuted at Disney California Adventure and not far from the show’s stage is a merchandise booth stuffed with themed goods. Some of the items have been around since last month but there are still quite a few new items to note.

These patterned plushes of Simba and Nala are special edition and only 40,000 were made. Why 40,000? Because each plush represents one of the real animals that the Disney and the Lion Recovery Fund are supporting with the donations from purchases. You can read more about this charity campaign on the Disney Parks Blog.

The booth also stocks film-accurate plushes, if that is more your speed.

I am loving this Simba headband. Much like the character headbands found at the Tokyo Disney Resort, these headbands are soft rings that snug around the head.

Disneyland MerchandiseThis little, fuzzy Nala purse (with ears!) is an option for younger guests.

Disneyland Merchandise

And for those of us who remember what a VCR is, Disney lovingly recreated the old VHS box for the Lion King as a clutch. The inside even has a print of the VHS on it!

This Lion King snack bucket is available at snack carts and popcorn stands around Disney California Adventure. Depending on where you purchase it, it may be filled with popcorn or cotton candy. It’s nice that Disney is giving guests more options for bucket fillings. I think I may actually go for cotton candy next time.

Andy’s Coming!

We gave you a survey of a great many Toy Story 4 items that made their way to the Disneyland Resort recently but a few snuck under our radar. Specifically, a plush of Bo Peep’s sheep trio (they are named Billy, Goat, and Gruff), a kid’s Bo Peep outfit, dresses, and Woody-themed Spirit Jersey.

Disneyland Merchandise

And don’t be jealous ladies, there are a duo of outfits for you with matching accessories.  First up is this Bo Peep costume with wraparound skirt with pants. It’s a fun new look.

Disneyland Merchandise

The details on this outfit are whimsical. For example, the sheep are embroidered near the lace hem on the pants.

Disneyland Merchandise

Speaking of sheep, they make an adorable accessory. Part purse, part pet.

Disneyland Merchandise

The bow sports an enamel pin of the sheep and shepherd’s crook.

Disneyland Merchandise

There’s a more traditional dress design as well, featuring a Toy Story 4 print.

And this unisex spirit jersey might be popular with both men and women.

Disneyland Merchandise

While we are on the subject of toys, a whole mess of other playthings were released since last month and now seems like a great time to give them a look.

The next Classic Cozy Knits plush is none other than the Cheshire Cat! He seems to be a bit larger than the previous releases in the series. The tail alone is impressive in its size.

Disneyland Merchandise

If you haven’t hit a Star Wars overdose yet, this Porg shoulder plush is pretty dang cute. Using a magnet patch that you slip under your shirt, hat, or what-have-you, the little fellow attaches itself to your person and is ready for a day of adventure.

Disneyland Merchandise

The latest in the Wishables series was released recently. This one is from The Little Mermaid and includes Ariel, Ursula, Sebastian and Scuttle, with Flounder as the out-of-bag chaser.

Speaking of The Little Mermaid, in celebration of the film’s 30th anniversary, Ariel joins Aurora in the Disney Parks Diamond Castle Collection of dolls. Figures in these collections are limited in edition and larger and more detailed than the typical ones found in stores.

And finally, a new bubble-making contraption has been added to various stores and stands throughout the Resort. This Mickey Bubble baton is an amalgamation of a light toy and a bubble wand.

Odds and Ends

This new Moana dress is a great option for Disneybounding.

Disneyland Merchandise

I spotted these Luxo Ball leggings along with a matching two-sided sequin tee over at Pixar Pier.

Disneyland Merchandise

Disney Dress Shop addicts, rejoice! A Pirate Redd dress is now available.

The treasure chest purse compliments it nicely.

At last, we see some men’s apparel!

Disneyland Merchandise

As you can imagine, this Tigger tee can be found over at Pooh Corner.

Disneyland Merchandise

Soarin’ Around the World has a few new themed shirts. Interesting timing, seeing as how the attraction has temporarily reverted to Soarin’ Over California.

Disneyland Merchandise

Disney and Loungefly are really hitting it off. Beyond the mini-backpacks we already saw, there are Rainbow Unicorn (from Inside Out), Dug (from Up), and a new series called Disney Parks Minis. The last one also has a matching wristlet wallet.

Disneyland Merchandise

There were several new (non-Loungefly) regular-sized backpacks as well.

Disneyland Merchandise

Between Grad Nights and the traditional celebratory trips to Disneyland, there are plenty of reasons for Disney to sell graduation goods. This graduation cap ear headband has the words “Class of 2019” embroidered on the band.

Disneyland Merchandise

Disney is expanding their pet line even further with the inclusion of the Briar Rose Gold pet headband.

Disneyland Merchandise

To end our update, feast your eyes on this new Coco mug. Between the guitar-shaped handle and the character-laden print on the face of the skull, I can’t decide which part I like best.

Disneyland Merchandise

Until next time, Remember Me!
