Spring has definitely sprung at Disneyland, and the 70th-anniversary celebration is layering on even more color and whimsy. From festive decorations to brand-new entertainment, the resort is dressed to impress. We’ve already experienced the first wave of celebratory shows and can’t wait to see what else is in store when the big day arrives on July 17th. In the meantime, we’re all in on the “Celebrate Happy” vibe. Are you?

There’s a lot happening at the Disneyland Resort this week—new offerings, returning favorites, refurb walls galore, and some bananas baseball antics (literally). Let’s take a look at everything going on at The Happiest Place on Earth this week.
Magic Keys Still Unlocked
It’s been nearly two weeks since Disneyland Magic Keys went back on sale, and we’re honestly amazed that both Inspire and Believe Keys are STILL available for new purchases.

If you’ve been debating becoming a Magic Key Holder, this may be the best time to do it, with so much going on in the parks for the 70th anniversary… and no guarantee that these keys will remain available for long.

It’s Party Time!
Disneyland’s 70th anniversary has a consistent theme, “Celebrate Happy”—and there’s no better way to do that than with a good old-fashioned dance party. Two kid-friendly bashes are now encouraging the whole family to dance, dance, dance!
At the Pixar Pals Playtime Party in the Fantasyland Theatre, families can meet characters, play games, and of course, dance it out with the Incredibles, Joy, Sadness, and other Pixar pals.
We have some favorite moments in the show…
Edna Mode voguing is priceless…
And Sadness trying to dance to Walking on Sunshine is worth making a trip to the theater during show time… even if you just decide to sit in the bleachers and skip the dancing (which is suspiciously like aerobics).

Note that between “shows,” the theater is still an active spot to meet and greet with characters and take photos at numerous photo ops.

Meanwhile, over in Tomorrowland, Stitch’s Interplanetary Beach Party Blast is back on the terrace. It’s a mix of beach vibes, space tunes, and Stitch’s usual chaos.
And with the new Lilo and Stitch film rocketing to smash box office success, there’s a lot of extra energy to this dance party.

And just across the Esplanade, there’s another way for kids to burn off some energy indoors (and for parents to enjoy a little A/C). The new Disney Junior: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! show at California Adventure brings Mickey and friends to life with a colorful stage production that’s perfect for little ones.

Constructionland
Disneyland
It’s a wall world after all right now at Disneyland, with construction walls up in Fantasyland and Adventureland.
The Enchanted Tiki Room is getting a tune-up…

And the Matterhorn is conducting another of its annual refurbishments.
California Adventure
Not to be left out, DCA has less-than-beautiful construction walls of its own. The winery patio is currently under construction for an undisclosed project.

And Napa Rose at the Grand Californian is also under construction. When it reopens, it will have a newly-designed dining room and patio.
Downtown Disney District
The ESPN Zone transition continues, with new screens hiding the creepy moving sports heads. These new screens evoke the same look as the Mickey head-shaped tiles used throughout the new West End of Downtown Disney. It adds a bit of design consistency… but the fake printed tiles make it quite clear that this project is only temporary.

Tortilla Jo’s is now just a memory as construction crews have finally removed most of the old building and are preparing to start construction on the new steakhouse and barbecue restaurants that will be built in its place.

And we’re seeing considerable progress on the new two-story Earl of Sandwich, with the exterior being framed up. In the coming days, this building will be completely enclosed.

The Earl of Sandwich food truck continues to suffer a lack of customers. Tucked away between the Star Wars trading post and the old ESPN Zone off the employee lot, this location just doesn’t get much foot traffic.

The new Nectar Life truck is completely hidden in a corner of the west end near the Earl of Sandwich construction site, which is unfortunate since they have really cute bath and body products that people are probably just hurrying past.

Look for the cute pink truck to check out their bakery-inspired bath products.

Disneyland Refurb Calendar (updated 5/29/25)

Savannah Bananas Day
The Savannah Bananas spent the day at Disneyland on May 28th for (what else?) Savannah Bananas Day!

The wacky baseball team known for their antics on and off the field was honored with a cavalcade, and, in true Bananas fashion, performed a special dance number to “Hey Baby” in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Also at the park on May 28th were the Firefighters, who made sure to pay a visit to the Disneyland Fire House in Town Square. The Savannah Bananas played the Firefighters at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on May 30th and 31st.

Even if you missed Savannah Bananas Day, you can always get into the banana spirit with these banana bites at Disneyland and California Adventure:
- Brown Butter Banana Upside-down Cake at Blue Bayou Restaurant
- Banana Split at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor
- Banana Pudding at Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree
- Banoffee Tart at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe
- Banana Sno-Ball at Royal Street Veranda
- Banoffee Pie Cold Brew at the Cappuccino Cart in California Adventure
- Banana Split Churro near Goofy’s Sky School
- The Oswald Sundae at Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
- Banana Cone-Nanza Churro at Cozy Cone Motel 1 – Churros
- Strawberry Banana Sensation at Schmoozies! (alcoholic option available)
And we can’t forget frozen bananas available at select outdoor vending locations, and of course, good old-fashioned bananas available at fruit carts.
You can watch Banana Ball on Disney+, ESPN+ and ESPN or ESPN 2.

Live at 5
Dusty and crew partied at not one, but two dance parties on Thursday. If you missed the fun, you can watch it here.
Secret Tiki Menu
Did you know? Vista Parkside Market has a secret menu with Enchanted Tiki Room bird-themed cocktails (sadly, you don’t get to keep the bird).

If you know the secret phrase (“I’d like to wake up the glee club”), the bartender will give you a QR code that unlocks a menu of drinks inspired by our favorite feathered friends.

May The Force Still Be With You
If you missed out on Star Wars Nites and didn’t make it to the park for Star Wars Day, all is not lost because we spotted Star Wars Nite and May the 4th merchandise in a tunnel headed in/out of Galaxy’s Edge.

Say Hey Howdy Hey to Rex!
Rex from the Toy Story movies arrived on Sunday, June 1st, to meet his fans in California Adventure. He’s only be hanging in Pixar Pier for a limited time, so if you’re a Rex fan, be sure to plan a visit soon.

MiceShots
As we inch our way towards summer, let’s take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the parks are in springtime.

We love the slate of new and returning entertainment for the anniversary celebration that all include the peppy Jonas Brothers “Celebrate Happy” theme song in one way or another, but we also can’t help but smile every time we see the very happy birthday cake-style celebrate happy decor across the resort.

And as magical as the 70th Anniversary decor is, nothing beats good old-fashioned Disneyland…

DCA looks festive right now as well. Though we wish they’d repurpose a few of the Food & Wine Festival booths for the 70th.
