The roller coaster of Disneyland Magic Key availability is headed up again. While the Inspire Key and Believe Key annual passes are currently available (while supplies last), starting Jan. 13, 2026, the Imagine Key and an all-new Explore Key (replacing the Enchant Key) will also be available for purchase (as always, while supplies last).

The big news here is that the Enchant Key will no longer be available for purchase or renewal starting January 13, 2026.

If you’re currently an Enchant Key holder, you can keep using your pass until it expires; however, when it’s time to renew (on or after January 13th, 2026) you’ll be given the option to renew at a different pass type, including the new Explore Key.

We have additional information below on the new ability to renew or upgrade your current Magic Key using the Disneyland App or website.

What is Disneyland’s New Explore Key?

The Explore Key is very similar to the Enchant Key it replaces, with the only functional difference being expanded summer availability. It will be priced at $999 (approximately $25 more than the old Enchant Key) and includes the following benefits:

  • Reservation-based Park Hopper admission with an ability to hold up to 4 theme park reservations at a time
  • Up to 10% off select merchandise and dining
  • 25% off parking at the Toy Story Parking area
  • 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass

NOTE: Explore has the same benefits as the Enchant Key, but opens up portions of June, July, and August that were previously blocked out under the Enchant Key. The new key is clearly aimed at locals who were frustrated by Enchant’s full summer blackout but don’t want to pay Believe or Inspire prices.

As always, availability is unpredictable. Keys can sell out in hours or stay open for months — there’s no clear pattern, so it’s worth setting a reminder and purchasing early if you plan to renew or join the program.

We’re curious what you think of this new Magic Key.

Upgrading and Renewing a Disneyland Magic Key

Disneyland has quietly rolled out a useful new option for Magic Key holders: you can now upgrade an active Magic Key pass online or in the Disneyland app, without visiting Guest Relations.

How to Upgrade Your Magic Key. You have two ways to do it:

  • On the Disneyland website: Log in to your MyDisney account and head to “Manage My Passes.” From there, select your active Magic Key and choose the upgrade option.
  • In the Disneyland app: Tap the menu (☰), select “My Tickets & Passes,” choose your Magic Key, then tap “Upgrade Magic Key.”

In both cases, follow the on-screen steps to complete the upgrade.

Important Things to Know Before You Upgrade Your Magic Key:

  • Availability is not guaranteed. Not all Magic Key tiers may be available at the time you try to upgrade.
  • Your pass must be active. Expired or inactive Magic Keys cannot be upgraded digitally.
  • Upgrades only. You must pay the full price difference at the time of upgrade, and downgrades are not allowed.
  • Same expiration date. Your upgraded Magic Key keeps the original expiration date.
  • Monthly payment schedules stay the same. If you’re on an installment plan, your payment schedule does not reset.
  • Details can change. Pass features, availability, and terms are subject to change without notice.

Explore Magic Key Calendar Now Viewable

Ahead of the January 13, 2026, on-sale date, Disneyland has also made the reservation calendar for the new Explore Magic Key available to view (Magic Key reservation availability calendar HERE – Select the level of key you’d like to view). Guests can now check blockout dates and reservation availability before deciding whether the new pass makes sense for them.

Below, find everything you need to know about the Disneyland Magic Key program, how it works, updated tips, and which key might be right for you. You might think you need a Magic Key… but do you? Let’s find out.

Disneyland Magic Key Program 2026

Disneyland’s Magic Key program is essentially a rebranding of their old Annual Pass program. Magic Keys are offered in four tiers, each of which offers a different level of access to the park and different blockout days. In August of 2022, the top-level Dream Key was replaced with the new Inspire Key. They are essentially the same, but the new key blocks out the busy Christmas holiday dates. The old Dream Key had no blocked-out dates.

As of January 13, 2026, the $974 Enchant Key will be replaced by the new pricier $999 Explore Key.

In addition to access to the Magic Key terrace (when available), Magic Key holder celebrations, special merchandise, early event ticket purchase and other opportunities, the Magic Key program added some new perks in 2022. 25% parking discounts were added to the bottom two tiers, a 20% discount is now offered for the purchase of Lightning Lane for all tiers, and the top two tiers now offer Photopass digital downloads.

NOTE: All four Magic Keys continue to require theme park reservations and do not guarantee access to the theme parks.

Disneyland Magic Key Tiers

There are 4 tiers to the Magic Key program. The bottom tiers have more blocked-out dates and lesser value perks, but they also offer a more affordable entry price. The upper-level keys add things like parking and Photopass, and offer far fewer block-out dates, but at a much higher price.

Individual Magic Key levels may be available or unavailable for purchase at any time. The program is VERY popular and has had limited new-purchase availability.

Magic Keys went up in price on October 8th, 2025 (prices and information below were current at that time):

Imagine Key $599 (a $0 increase)

If weekend and holiday visits to Disneyland aren’t important to you and you don’t mind being blocked out for busy seasons like mid-summer, Halloween, Christmas and spring break, the Imagine Key might be right for you. This pass is only available to Southern California residents and can only hold two park reservations at a time.

    • This pass can pay for itself in as few as 4 visits
    • Includes park-hopping
    • Hold up to 2 theme park reservations at a time
    • 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass
    • Up to 10% off select merchandise
    • Up to 10% off select dining
    • 25% off standard parking at the Toy Story Parking lot (not valid on blockout dates)

Enchant Key $974 (a $0 increase)

The Enchant Key also has substantial blockout dates and has similar perks as the Imagine Key. However, this key is entitled to hold 4 park reservations at a time instead of just two.

    • This pass can pay for itself in as few as 6 visits
    • Includes park-hopping
    • Hold up to 4 theme park reservations at a time
    • 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass
    • Up to 10% off select merchandise
    • Up to 10% off select dining
    • 25% off standard parking at the Toy Story Parking lot (not valid on blockout dates)

On January 13, 2026, this will be replaced by the new Explore Key.

NEW Explore Key $999

  • Includes park-hopping
  • Hold up to 4 theme park reservations at a time
  • 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass
  • Up to 10% off select merchandise
  • Up to 10% off select dining
  • 25% off standard parking at the Toy Story Parking lot (not valid on blockout dates)

Believe Key $1,474 (a $100 increase)

This is where the Keys become more interesting. In addition to the discounts offered by the two least expenses passes, this level offers 6 park reservations at a time, 50% off parking, Photopass digital downloads, and far fewer blockout days. At just a $375 discount over the similar Inspire key, it’s important to ask yourself just if you might benefit from the higher discounts, free parking, and extra calendar availability by upgrading to the highest tier Magic Key.

    • This pass can pay for itself in as few as 9 visits
    • Includes park-hopping
    • Hold up to 6 theme park reservations at a time
    • 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass
    • Unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads
    • Up to 10% off select merchandise
    • Up to 10% off select dining
    • 50% off standard parking at the Mickey & Friends, Pixar Pals, and Toy Story parking areas (excluding blockout dates)

Inspire Key $1,899 (a $150 increase).

While the old top-tier Dream Key had no blockout dates, the Inspire Key does block out the busiest days around Christmas. But, this pass also offers higher merchandise and shopping discounts than the other tiers, free parking, and Photopass… but the same 6 park reservations as the Believe Key. If you like to visit the parks at least once a month, this pass is probably your best bet when you consider included parking and food and merchandise discounts.

  • This pass can pay for itself in 11 visits
  • Includes park-hopping
  • Hold up to 6 theme park reservations at a time
  • 25% off the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass
  • Unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads
  • Up to 20% off select merchandise
  • Up to 15% off select dining
  • Standard parking INCLUDED at the Mickey & Friends, Pixar Pals, and Toy Story parking areas (excluding blockout dates)

Disneyland Magic Key / Annual Pass Price History

We’ve produced a comparison of Disneyland Annual Pass and Magic Key prices since 2015 to give you an idea of how much prices have gone up over the years. Magic Keys were introduced in 2021, here’s how they have been priced each year:

Before the Magic Keys, there were Annual Passes. While the program was very similar to the current Magic Key program, Annual Passes did not require park reservations.

Disneyland Annual Pass Prices 2015 through 2020

Since 2015, the lowest cost pass (the old SoCal Select) and the newer Imagine Key equivalent (also just for Southern California residents) has gone up by only $300. However, the top-level pass has gone up from $799 for the old Premium Pass (no blackouts) in 2015 to $1899 for the Inspire Key in 2025/26, a $1,100 increase in just 10 years.

Important Disneyland Magic Key Information

Due to the popularity of certain keys, any key may sell out at any time. So it’s possible that the key you want won’t be available when it’s time for you to purchase or renew (but you’ll still be able to select another available Key).

If you see an error screen like the “Someone Ate the Page” image below, don’t panic; just keep trying.

If you attempt to purchase a Magic Key during a very busy time, you may be placed in a long queue. Note that in the past, Disneyland has paused the queue in the evening around 10pm (so you can sleep), and reopened at 9am in the morning (that doesn’t mean they will continue this process, we are just letting you know how things have been handled in the past).

Don’t forget to renew by your expiration date (you can renew up to 30 days early)!

Which Disneyland Ticket is Right For You?

Being a passholder is a lifestyle choice for many people. Disneyland isn’t just a vacation destination; it’s a hang-out spot for many guests. But with park reservations now required for all visits and Magic Key annual passes hitting new high prices, it’s time to step back a bit and determine if you really need one, or if regular tickets, special event tickets, and ticket promotions might work out to your advantage.

Disneyland Magic Key, Disneyland Magic Keys Program Changes – Everything You Need To Know
Magic Key is an homage to Disneyland’s early ticket books. A clever touch.

Ask yourself a few questions:

    1. How many visits did you make to Disneyland in the last year?
    2. How often did you park in a Disneyland parking lot?
    3. What is the total value of savings you achieved in merchandise and food discounts from your Magic Key?
    4. Were you unable to use your pass due to blockout dates?
    5. Do you need to visit on weekends or during holidays?
    6. Could you complete your visit within 13 days (the current time limit on a 5-day ticket)?
    7. Were there promotions and specials you could have taken advantage of that you missed out on because you already had a Magic Key? Example: 3 days for the cost of 2, Kids for $50, California Salute, etc.

Take those factors into consideration to determine if you need to upgrade, downgrade, or move to regular park tickets or promotional tickets.  Does the Key level you currently have match your visitation needs? If you are a local who visits monthly, one of the Magic Keys probably makes sense. But for those from further distances who make just one or two trips a year, you might do better with regular tickets.  We have friends from out of town with the top-level Magic Key who didn’t make more than a few trips to the park for all of last year. That’s a huge waste of money.

Disneyland Magic Key Notes & Tips

  • PARKING: All Magic Keys now offer some level of parking discount. The lower passes offer 25% off of Toy Story lot parking. The Believe Key will get a 50% parking discount (at “select lots). And the Inspire Key gets free parking at select lots.
  • NO-SHOW PENALTY: If you fail to show up for a reservation 3 times in a 90-day period your pass will be blocked from making another reservation for 30 days (but you’ll still be able to use any reservations you have already booked).
  • PARK-HOPPING: While you need to select a park of entry when you make your Magic Key reservation, you can switch parks after 11am.
  • ARE NEW MAGIC KEYS AVAILABLE? Check Disneyland.com. Keys are suspended and reopen at various times.
  • ARE MONTHLY PAYMENTS STILL AVAILABLE? Yes! The same monthly payment options are available to California residents only.
  • DON’T FORGET TO CHECK BLOCKOUT CALENDARS AND MAKE PARK RESERVATIONS! Nothing is worse than driving all the way to Disneyland only to find out that you forgot to make a park reservation. If your pass isn’t blocked out for the day, be sure to make a theme park reservation as far in advance as you can. The closer a date gets, the more likely you are to find it sold out. The easiest way to book a park reservation is in the Disneyland App. Since you’ll have to use the app anyway to enter the park, it’s a good idea to become familiar with the program!
  • THE FINE PRINT: Magic Key terms of service indicate that you agree to binding arbitration should you have a legal concern about your pass and waive your right to form a class action. This stems from legal complaints filed by initial Magic Key holders regarding park reservations and reservation buckets. Regardless of what ticket or pass you purchase, there is no guarantee that you’ll actually be able to secure a park reservation even if your pass or ticket isn’t blocked out. Disney has made that clear and covered itself in the new legalese.
  • CHECK DISNEY’S WEBSITE FOR TERMS AND CONDITIONS BEFORE BUYING: Prices, features & terms change all the time!
  • WHAT TO DO IF YOU NEED HELP: Disneyland Magic Key Membership Services line can assist at: (714) 781-7277.  Expect long waits for the first few days.

NEW: Disneyland California Resident Ticket Offer

If you’re not quite ready to commit to a Magic Key, Disneyland is offering a 3-day ticket offer. When theme park ticket prices increase, as they recently did, Disneyland often releases a California resident ticket offer to soften the blow, and this year is no different.

Disneyland Ticket Price, Disneyland Ticket Prices Go Up Again on Magic Keys, Day Tickets & Lightning Lane!

The new limited-time California Resident 3-Day Park Hopper Ticket for theme park visits in early 2026 will cost $249, which works out to as little as $83 per person, per day. A 3-Day Park Hopper ticket with Lightning Lane Multi Pass is $351 ($117 per person per day).

Both limited-time California Resident tickets will be available to purchase starting on Dec. 3, 2025, and eligible California residents can redeem their tickets on any three eligible days from Jan. 1, 2026 to May 21, 2026 (subject to park reservation availability, of course).
