Orlando is gearing up for an exciting [and hot!] summer… with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening at Magic Kingdom soon, we were wondering if any further WDW news would be withheld for the infamous parks panel at the upcoming D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. However, we have a few surprises to unwrap right now, as four new limited-time offerings are heading to Walt Disney World this summer. Let’s take a look!
New Drone Show for Disney Springs
Following the popularity of Disneyland Paris’ recent Disney Electrical Sky Parade – finally, a sparkling drone show for WDW! Disney Dreams That Soar will be a late-night perk for Disney Springs visitors. The show will showcase Disney stories celebrating the joy of flight with state-of-the-art drones choreographed to create designs in the sky, paired with a musical score and memorable quotes.
Disney Dreams That Soar will run nightly over the Disney Springs lake from May 24th through September 2nd.
Encanto Sing-Along for EPCOT’s CommuniCore Plaza
Finally, the last of the walls of EPCOT’s ongoing transformation are coming down! While most of the new World Celebration area opened late last year, construction work has continued on the new CommuniCore Hall and Plaza (these will act as an indoor -air-conditioned- homebase for EPCOT’s festival centers and other celebrations, as well as a meet & greet location for Mickey and friends). These new EPCOT entertainment facilities will officially open on June 10th!

Opening alongside CommuniCore Plaza will be a new sing-along featuring the beloved story of Encanto. The new limited-time show, ¡Celebracíon Encanto!, will run several times throughout the day, inviting everyone to sing along to your favorite songs from the film. You’ll also spot Mirabel and Bruno on the newly opened stage.

Meet Joy at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Beginning June 10th, Joy will join other favorite Pixar characters within Pixar Plaza at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (This is just in time for Inside Out 2, which premieres June 14th!)

Celebrate 30 Years of The Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Hakuna Matata! Can you believe it’s been 30 years since The Lion King premiered? Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be celebrating the film’s milestone anniversary from June 10th through September 16th.

A Rafiki and Timon meet and greet will ceremoniously return to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. And while you’re there, learn to draw characters from The Lion King at the Animation Experience.
A new merchandise collection and special menu items will be available throughout the park, as well as a Pumbaa popcorn bucket:
