If it’s Halloween in your heart all year round, then it’s your lucky day. Universal Horror Unleashed, the first-ever permanent horror attraction by Universal Destinations & Experiences, has officially opened in Las Vegas. The experience, modeled on Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood, features mazes that are even more intense than the ones at the seasonal events, and a new level of production value.

And as Easter rolls around, a new themed experience is rolling into Las Vegas….

Feaster Greivings

From April 1 through May 2, 2026, guests can step into Feaster Grievings, an all-new, original experience inspired by Feaster Bunny and a “cursed film that was never completed.”

Feaster Grievings tells the tale of an unfinished horror film that has resurfaced, leaving its sinister protagonist, Feaster Bunny, eager to complete what he started. As guests enter Universal Horror Unleashed, they’ll receive a call sheet and become a part of the production, beginning their journey on a rotten egg hunt.

As they embark on their twisted search, they’ll come face-to-face with eerie characters like Grace, the young, spoiled girl who torments her tortured bunny, demanding he find every rotten egg. Feaster Bunny’s film workshop in Boiler Bar includes a photo op and the opportunity become extras in his masterpiece. Guests will continue to Hedge Maze Madness in Jack’s Alley for the final scene of Feaster Grievings. With cameras rolling, they must enter the maze and search for the coveted golden egg, protected by Feaster Bunny’s obsessed followers.

Guests who take part in the search will win a special prize – from discounts to free merchandise. The limited-time experience also features all-new themed food and beverage items, including Pickled Eggs, Bloody Egg Cake Pops, Beet Poached Truffled Deviled Eggs, Duck Confit, The Feaster-tini, The Blood Bunny Mocktail and more.

Feaster Grievings is included as part of General Admission to Universal Horror Unleashed. From now through April 30. Save up to $50 on select tickets, with special offers starting at $39 for Nevada residents and $49 for non-residents.

And now, onto the full-time horror…

What is Universal Horror Unleashed?

Universal’s first-ever year-round horror experience utilizes the studio’s library of classic and modern horror films to create a fully immersive, fully terrifying attraction, which features four walk-through mazes, four scare zones, a dark circus show and three dining and drinking areas.

The new 110,000-square-foot experience is be the anchor of a 20-acre expansion of AREA15, an entertainment district in Las Vegas that’s already known for highly-immersive experiences, including Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, a mind-bending interactive attraction which is one part art gallery, one part explorable labyrinth, and one part puzzle to solve.

So, what horrors are lurking behind the doors of Universal Horror Unleashed? Let’s take a look at what’s waiting for you… if you dare.

“When you set foot inside this building, you’re going to have the most immersive, most horrifying experience of your entire life,” said Show Director Nate Stevenson.

The Haunted Houses of Universal Horror Unleashed

Four highly-themed immersive Halloween Horror Nights-style haunted houses will be waiting for you in Las Vegas, if you have the courage to enter, that is. Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are based on horror movies, and Scarecrow: The Reaping and Universal Monsters are original concepts. All four mazes draw from previous HHN experiences in Hollywood and Orlando, but while fans who go to HHN every year might see some familiar elements, the overall experience feels very different – more intense, more immersive and more likely to give you nightmares (in a good way).

Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer

Based on the newest installment of the horror movie franchise, Blumhouse’s The Exorcist: Believer follows the film’s story beginning at the market where a violent earthquake takes place and progressing to the woods where best friends Katherine and Angela mysteriously vanish – only to be discovered days later with no memory of what happened. From there, guests follow the girls’ disturbing transformation from the hospital to the girls’ homes to witnessing the actual exorcism.

“We use a lot of really exciting special effects to bring these houses to life,” stevenson said. “One thing we do in Exorcist…is during the exorcism scene, we actually make a wall disappear and behind it, you see this hellscape and it gives you an idea about what these girls are fighting with—and also what they’re trying to escape.”

Fans who visited Halloween Horror Nights on either coast in 2023 will recognize some elements of this maze, like the market scene (which is now a queue area) and the campground scene. But the creative team has dropped the weaker elements from those HHN mazes – thankfully, there’s no more poop smell, and no long hallways of dead space – and really enhanced the best elements from HHN. The exorcism scene is a long show moment with an intense reveal. Take it from us: if you look scared, you might just find yourself participating in the show in ways you don’t want to.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

If you thought Universal Horror Unleashed might not have chainsaws… think again.

Based on the groundbreaking 1974 horror classic, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre haunted house looks and feels like the original film, placing guests in the footsteps of the victims as they face horrifying scenes and characters, including uncomfortably close brushes with Leatherface himself.

The journey starts in a Texas cemetery, where guests experience the chilling preface to the movie. “The film which you are about to see is an account of the tragedy which befell a group of five youths,” it reads, projected on the wall high above the tombstones. “…For them, an idyllic summer afternoon became a nightmare.”

“The film is brutal, so we absolutely wanted to match that,” said Design Manager Stephen Morrison. “And you’re actually going to be pursued by Leatherface in this house.”

The maze opens with one of HHN’s all-time best scenes, from the 2021 event: the run-down old gas station featured in the movie’s infamous barbecue scene, with a broken-down van out front and a sign above reading “We slaughter barbecue.” Then, it’s on to the cannibalistic Sawyer family’s home. Expect to come face-to-face with Leatherface, his deranged relatives, and their victims — as the terrifying sound of (you knew it was coming) chainsaws echoes through every turn.

Here’s a look inside The Texas Chainsaw Massacre:

Scarecrow: The Reaping

A fan-favorite original HHN concept, Scarecrow: The Reaping, has been both a scare zone and a maze in the parks. The Las Vegas version transports guests to the 1930s “Dust Bowl-era” Midwest, where farms have been taken over by bloodthirsty monsters.

“One thing we pride ourselves on is telling original, terrifying stories,” said Show Director Nate Stevenson. “And that’s exactly what you’re gonna get with Scarecrow: The Reaping.”

The special effects are especially excellent in this maze, with designers using weather elements to enhance the chilling atmosphere. Guests start their journey in the middle of a windstorm before entering an abandoned farmhouse, where they’ll encounter monstrous creatures made of “remnants of dried human flesh and bones of beasts, merged with burlap, root and vine” who are seeking vengeance for their ravaged land.

But don’t expect to see just vengeful scarecrows. The whole natural landscape of the farm has turned on its human interlopers. Inside, you’ll encounter murderous, anthropomorphic pigs and a disorienting corn maze where you’ll be lucky to escape with your life.

Here’s a first look at this horrifying haunted house:

Universal Monsters

For years, the Universal Monsters mazes have been the sleeper hit of Halloween Horror Nights. What might seem like a dusty old concept — reviving movie monsters that rose to fame almost 100 years ago — is anything but. By plunging us into their darkest realms, the creative teams manage to capture the original magic of Universal’s classic monsters, creating experiences today that have the same effect on audiences that the creatures had when they first appeared on the silver screen.

“Our legacy of creating horror at Universal Studios goes all the way back to the beginning of film itself,” said creative director and executive producer John Murdy. “We’ve been creating iconic horror movies that have stood the test of time.”

Universal Monsters at Universal Horror Unleashed was by far our favorite of the bunch, not just because the production value was so high and the scares were pitch-perfect, but because the maze was a perfect setting to display what makes the classic monsters such enduring and excellent characters.

There have been years at HHN when the storyline gets a little too in the weeds, and trying to follow the plot detracts from the overall experience, like at the 2024 Hollywood maze (which was built on the same soundstage where the original “Dracula,” “Frankenstein,” and “The Bride of Frankenstein” movies were filmed). These monsters are at their best when we walk into their worlds, and we see them in all their terrifying glory — and then pay the price for transgressing into their private realms. That’s exactly the balance that Universal Horror Unleashed achieves. There’s no complex storyline to follow, just a true appreciation for the monsters themselves. All of the characters have their moment in the sun (or, in the case of the Wolfman, the full moon) and we travel from Van Helsing’s crypt to the swamps of the Black Lagoon to the crypt of Imhotep.

The sets in this maze are especially gorgeous, like the infinity effect creating the illusion of height in the Hunchback of Notre Dame’s bell tower. More than that, there are two show moments in this maze that are truly incredible. We won’t spoil anything, but be prepared to stop and soak in what happens inside Castle Dracula and Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory. You won’t regret lingering to enjoy the moment.

Here’s a look at what lurks beyond Van Helsing’s gates:

Even More Screams Outside the Mazes

The haunted houses aren’t the only horrors lurking inside Universal Horror Unleashed. There are also four themed areas featuring live entertainment, eerie eateries and bars featuring “horror-centric” food and drinks, and one-of-a-kind merchandise.

In the Prop Graveyard, guests walk through an abandoned production warehouse and face a collection of unsettling dolls, dismembered mannequins, and other haunted objects from abandoned film sets that seem to move as guests walk through. Keep an eye out: some of them will come after you.

In Kill Vault, guests are surrounded by rusty knives and machetes as well as eerie characters, including a strange surgeon and psychotic slashers. Don’t miss your chance to have an audience with the Vampire Queen, who sits on a throne underneath aerial performers, if you can make it past her darkly imposing bodyguard.

This area also features Rough Cuts, where guests can dine on “chainsaw” carved small plates and The Boiler Bar, the central bar of the space. Pro tip: order the Severed Pear cocktail and you’ll unlock a secret special effect.

Jack’s Alley Bar is a “circus-like hellscape” where Halloween Horror Nights icons Jack the Clown and his evil sidekick Chance reign the twisted dark carnival atmosphere. Here, you’ll face Jack’s evil maniacs, malicious jugglers, terrifying dancers, and fortune tellers during interactive show moments. This is where you can see the live stage show, Jack & Chance: Stay or Slay Show, a darkly comic circus and dance performance.

Blumhouse’s Premiere House offers a break from the chaos. This table-service restaurant features photo areas themed to recent Blumhouse horror films like M3gan and The Black Phone, but it’s also a place to sit down, enjoy cocktails and shareable bites, and not have to worry about scareactors coming after you.

Your final stop on your terrifying journey is the gift shop. In addition to exclusive Universal Horror Unleashed branded merch, each of the four haunted houses has its own collection, and some fan-favorite characters like Chucky also make an appearance in the merch selection.

What’s Next for Universal Destinations & Experiences

On June 26, 2025, Universal announced that it’s already expanding it’s new year-round horror-based concept with a second Universal Horror Unleashed location in Chicago — the first Universal destination in the mid-west. More details will be coming soon.

“From spine-tingling scares to jaw-dropping creativity, we’re bringing the full force of horror and thrills to a whole new audience in a whole new place. Get ready, Chicago!”

More Universal Monsters

While we’re not expecting the classic Universal Monsters to make an appearance at Halloween Horror Nights this year, there are other opportunities to face them.

Universal Fan Fest Nights 2026

Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters: Mystery is coming to the Universal Studios Hollywood Backlot for Universal Fan Fest Nights, the headline new experience for the event’s second year. But this isn’t just a walk-through… it’s structured as a movie shoot gone wrong. And the best part is that the all-new immersive experience will take place on the historic Little Europe and the Court of Miracles sets, original filming locations for Frankenstein (1931) and The Wolf Man (1941).

Fan Fest Nights, Universal Fan Fest Nights 2026 Guide: Scooby-Doo, Sailor Moon, Dragons & Pirates

Guests board the Studio Tour tram and are transported to the backlot, where they’ll step into a live-action mystery alongside Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred.

The fictional monster movie is hijacked by a mysterious figure known as the “Phantom Director,” who unleashes classic Universal Monsters—Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, the Bride of Frankenstein, and the Wolf Man—throwing the set into chaos. From there, the experience becomes interactive. Armed with a “mystery manual,” guests work alongside the Mystery Inc. gang to follow clues, explore the sets, and ultimately identify the culprit behind the sabotage.

Guests will also be able to take photos with the Mystery Inc. crew, the Universal Monsters, and even the Mystery Machine.

Fan Fest Nights, Universal Fan Fest Nights 2026 Guide: Scooby-Doo, Sailor Moon, Dragons & Pirates

Scooby-Doo Meets the Universal Monsters: Mystery is just one of the immersive experiences at Universal Fan Fest Nights, which will take place at Universal Studios Hollywood on April 23–25; May 1–3, 7–9, 14–16, 2026.

Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment

Classic Universal monsters also inhabit the Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment attraction in the Dark Universe area of Universal Epic Universe.

As brave guests venture into the catacombs of Frankenstein Manor, they have to evade more than a dozen Universal Monsters, including The Wolf Man, Dracula, and The Creature from the Black Lagoon.

They also encounter the nine-foot-tall Frankenstein’s Monster in the attraction’s queue.

Monsters Unchained

“Monsters Unchained has the most technologically-advanced animated figures that have ever been built,” said Universal Senior Creative Director Peter Castillo. “They are visceral, they are powerful, they are intense, and from a technical standpoint, they exceed beyond everyone’s wildest expectations for what an animated figure can do.”

Halloween Horror Nights 2026

Halloween Horror Nights will take place on select nights from Aug. 28 through Nov. 1, 2026 at Universal Studios Florida, and on select nights still to be announced at Universal Studios Hollywood.
