Mickey and Friends Gingerbread House Mini Backpack from Loungefly.com ($85)
This isn’t Loungefly’s first attempt at a gingerbread house-style mini backpack, but thankfully, they managed to keep the design fresh while maintaining all the charm and holiday nostalgia. They also did an excellent job of balancing the amount of candy and frosting decor used, managing to make it feel merry but not crowded. Cookie versions of Mickey and Minnie gaze out from the house’s balcony, which serves as the front zippered compartment. Meanwhile, edible Donald and Daisy are positioned near the front door.
My favorite detail is Pluto sitting with his own gingerbread doghouse on the back of the bag.
And keeping with the sugar-coated theme, the lining is sprinkled with Hidden Mickey gumdrops, peppermint hard candies, and other confections. This print is used on the other items in Loungefly’s Gingerbread collection, like this zip-around wallet and unisex hoodie.

Given how popular Disney Lorcana is, it would be a glaring omission to not include the trading card game’s upcoming expansion, Rise of the Floodborn, in our holiday gift guide. This expansion introduces the “Resist” ability and over 200 new cards. The Rise of the Floodborn Expansion will be released at local game stores on November 17 then at mass retailers on December 1.
And if you aim to collect them all, the Disney Lorcana: Disney100 Collector’s Edition includes four booster packs from Rise of the Floodborn plus six cards taken from this new release as well as the original (titled The Chapter) featuring alternate artwork by Walt Disney Studios animators, signed by the artist and finished with a holographic effect. Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil Board Game by Ravensburger ($29.99)
Ravensburger’s Villainous board game franchise has a vast following, drawing from villains that span the Disney (and Pixar!), Star Wars, and Marvel universes. If you want to introduce a giftee to a new board game addiction, Disney Villainous: Introduction to Evil is a great place to start. It offers villains with more streamlined gameplay than those found in later releases. And like other Disney Villainous games, this one can be played in combination with others, which helps not only expand the variety but also the range of difficulty.
