When Mr. Oogie Boogie says There’s trouble close at hand You’d better pay attention, now Cause I’m the Boogie Man!
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort runs from August 21 through October 31 (with Plaza de la Familia in California Adventure continuing through November 2), but the separately ticketed after-hours Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party has already started with after-hours parties on select nights fthrough October 31.
If you’re already got tickets (or are still deciding whether you want to party with the baddies in California Adventure), we’re running down everything you need to know about Oogie Boogie Bash 2026.

What is Oogie Boogie Bash?
The extra-cost, special-ticketed Halloween event features family-friendly activities like trick-or-treating, character photo ops, entertainment, the Villains Grove walk-through experience, and the rare chance to wear your favorite costume to the park (usually adults can’t dress up at Disneyland).
Party guests can also enter Disney California Adventure up to three hours before the event, so they can ride their favorite attractions early and save more time for the party-exclusive fun.

This year, a new Haunted Mansion-themed street party is replacing the Frightfully Fun Parade due to construction on the park’s new Coco attraction. Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party will feature a spirited séance and swinging wake filled with happy haunts and ghostly dancing.

Be an Oogie Boogie VIP
Even if general admission tickets are sold out, VIP tours may still be available. Prices for the Oogie Boogie Bash VIP Tour range from $7,500 to $8,500 (depending on the date), but that hefty price tag includes Park Hopper for Disneyland and California Adventure as well as Oogie Boogie Bash event tickets.

The 8-hour VIP tour includes:
- Park Hopper tickets and event admission for your party of up to 8 Guests
- Expedited access to Villains Grove and select treat trails
- Private VIP Tours Character Greeting
- Reserved VIP seated viewing of Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake—plus complimentary beverages with sweet and savory treats
- Exclusive VIP Tours Oogie Boogie Bash amenity
- Complimentary valet parking at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa
If you’re interested in the Oogie Boogie Bash VIP Tour, contact the reservations line at (714) 300-7710 or email [email protected].

The Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party
Another way to score reserved seating for Leota’s Swinging Wake is the Oogie Boogie Bash Dessert Party, which includes a selection of sweet and savory snacks, along with unlimited soft drinks, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and one complimentary alcoholic beverage for guests ages 21 and older.

Immersive Treat Trails
The party features 12 immersive treat trails, with iconic Disney villains along the way, including classic characters as well as baddies from newer Disney films. The cast changes from year to year.

Unlike treat trails at previous Halloween parties in Disneyland Park (and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Orlando), where cast members drop candy into trick-or-treat bags, the trails have villains to interact with, plus cast members with candy!
It’s truly one of the best innovations for a party like this. These treat trails use, to great effect, what Disneyland has always done best: live entertainment! Instead of forcing guests into an hours-long meet-and-greet line, everyone gets to see (and hear) the villain perched above the crowd… while also collecting candy! Because of the walk-through nature, capacity is high, and everyone gets a chance to be heckled by a bad guy.
Oogie Boogie Bash Villains 2026
New to the line-up this year is Yzma from “The Emperor’s New Groove.”

Yzma joins the collection of returning Disney villains:
Oogie Boogie: Disney Animation building in Hollywood Land
The Nightmare Before Christmas host with the most holds court in the Animation building, where the massive room’s screens are lit up with a visually stimulating experience befitting the green worm-filled star of the night.

Dr. Doofeshmirtz: Disney Theater in Hollywood Land
After his debut last year, the Phineas and Ferb bad guy returns to Oogie Boogie Bash!

Hades: Backlot Stage in Hollywood Land
Also returning after premiering last year is Hades from Hercules.
Judge Doom: Stage 12 in Hollywood Land
The cruel and evil judge from Who Framed Roger Rabbit has come to Oogie Boogie Bash to restore order! To rein in the insanity, Judge Doom must make toons respect the law.

Yokai: Hamada Bot Shop in San Fransokyo Square
Former robotics professor turned evil supervillain Yokai debuted in 2023 in the then-recently opened San Fransokyo Square. Yokai stands above the crowd and asks for help in defeating Baymax, Hiro, and the rest of Big Hero 6.

Ernesto de la Cruz: Hyperion Courtyard between Hollywood Land and Avengers Campus
Take a walk through the land of the dead and find yourself in the middle of a ghostly concert. The headliner? Ernesto De La Cruz from Coco. Ernesto was a hit in 2022, but he was located in the tiny Bountiful Valley Hideaway next to Avenger’s Campus. In 2023, he was moved to the Hyperion Theater queue, where there’s a ton of room for onlookers to watch him perform.

Live performance, not recorded:
Agatha Harkness: Ancient Sanctum in Avengers Campus
Agatha Harkness, the surprise antagonist in Marvel’s WandaVision, has taken over the Avengers Campus Sanctum for several years, and this year, she returns, once again, in her Agatha All Along costume.

Unfortunately, the sanctum is the only area of the campus that’s set up for Halloween. The rest of the land is still lit like normal and plays the regular music loop; the heroic music feels out of place for a Halloween party, especially when the rest of the park is playing Halloween music everywhere. One year, Avengers Campus featured a zombie version of Captain America, which was amazing:
Syndrome: Pixar Pier Band Shell on Pixar Pier
Another villain back for more mischief is Syndrome from The Incredibles.

Maleficent: Villains Grove in Grizzly Peak
Maleficent has appeared in years past, and we are thrilled to see her return. The Sleeping Beauty character is a crowd favorite!

Characters You Can’t Miss This Halloween
The Sanderson Sisters
One of our favorite additions in 2022 was this Disney trio dressed as the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus. Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Clarabelle Cow look so delightfully spooky in their witch costumes!

Pain and Panic
Watch out, the real-life versions of Pain and Panic from Hercules emerge at Oogie Boogie Bash.

Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake
A fan-favorite section of the Halloween parade has always been the ghostly gang from Haunted Mansion, but this year, they get the streets all to themselves… after an introduction by the Headless Horseman, that is.

PRO TIP: It’s generally easier to find a spot for the 2nd showing.
Villains Grove
Villains Grove is a sensory extravaganza as Redwood Creek Challenge Trail transforms with lighting, projection mapping, and other digital effects to evoke the spirit and essence of the villains. While you won’t find any characters to interact with or candy to add to your bag, a walk through Villains Grove is a treat in and of itself. This is always a highlight of our visit, and not much has changed since its debut in 2019.

Highlighted Villains
The villains featured in the grove are Frollo, Maleficent, the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Dr. Facilier, and the Wicked Queen. The Wisps from Brave are also incorporated as your informal guides.

Villains Grove has always been one of the best parts of Oogie Boogie Bash. It’s spooky without being scary, highly atmospheric, and an incredible transformation compared to its daylight counterpart. This is the last section of the party to open, as the sun needs to set completely for the special effects to be fully implemented, but it is definitely worth the wait.

The fog really makes the lights dazzle.

Many of the special effects are accomplished via projection mapping, and it’s spectacular.

These vines grow across the falls right before your eyes.

The villains featured in the Grove are represented by glowing wisps of color. The only thing that could enhance this area is actual live actors.

Villains Grove is well imagined with clever nods to Disney’s most dastardly denizens. We could spend the entire night walking in circles through the area.

One thing to be aware of is that Villains Grove is VERY popular. At peak times (like upon opening at dusk or just after the first parade lets out), the wait skyrockets up to an hour or more. Our tip is to visit while the first parade occurs and the wait is at its lowest.

Although Villains Grove is largely the same as it has been since 2019, we absolutely love getting to experience it every year.

Oogie Boogie Bash 2026 Merchandise
If you want to commemorate your party attendance with merchandise, there are numerous options to choose from.
For apparel, there are several shirts, including a style exclusive to Disneyland Magic Key holders, and a hoodie.
And you can accessorize with a special ear headband or baseball cap.

Other items include a tote bag and photo frame. The latter should prove especially useful as your treat bag starts to get full of candy.
And, of course, there are a variety of trading pins, including a pin set, boxed mystery pins, and a Magic Key holder-exclusive design.
Oogie Boogie Bash Eats & Treats
What kind of host would Oogie Boogie be if he didn’t have themed eats and treats for his guests?
This year at Cozy Cone 4, revelers can sip the new Haunted Highway Cocktail made of pineapple lemonade with blue Curaçao, apple pucker, and Sprite topped with grenadine and gummy worms.

Plus, only those who attend Oogie Boogie Bash can purchase the extremely cool Headless Horseman Bucket. Limit two per person, per transaction, no discounts.

The Headless Horseman Bucket is only available on party nights at Hollywood Lounge, Smokejumpers Grill, Popcorn at Grizzly Peak Airfield and Pixar Pier, Popcorn near Carthay Circle, and select outdoor vending.

Know Before You Go
Oogie Boogie Bash takes over Disney California Adventure on select nights from mid-August through Halloween itself. On party nights, the park closes to regular guests at 6 p.m. and event attendees can enter DCA as early as 3 p.m.
Party attendees will need to have a wristband to distinguish them from regular park guests. There are usually two locations to get a wristband, one at the front of the park just after entering and another near the Golden Vine Winery (often with a significantly shorter line).
You can get a wristband at any time during park mix-in hours or once the event begins. After getting your wristband, you’re given a free treat bag for your candy and an event map.
The bash lasts from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Costumes are allowed as long as they’re family-friendly and inoffensive. Full guidelines are available on the Disneyland website.
And don’t forget to take advantage of unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads during the party to remember it by. Happy Halloween!
