Star Wars Day 2023, AKA “May the 4th Be With You,” is here! And we’ve assembled a showcase of intergalactic goodies to help celebrate. Some items can be found at Disney Parks and shopDisney, while others are available from other sources. Grab a tall glass of blue milk, find a seat, and take a look at the merchandise for Star Wars Day 2023… because this year, Star Wars ‘Day’ will last a whole month!
NEW! Share a Drink with Grogu
This Grogu-shaped sipper was introduced on May 2 during the first Star Wars Nite and is now available during normal hours of operation. You’ll find him at the Galactic Grill as well as Tomorrowland’s fruit cart, churro cart, and lemonade cart. The sipper costs $27.97 and includes a drink with purchase.
NEW Collections Arrive on shopDisney for Star Wars Day
With the arrival of Star Wars Day comes a huge influx of even more merchandise for fans to enjoy. There are pages on shopDisney dedicated to Star Wars Day merchandise and another for all the Star Wars items in the store for easy perusal, but I’ve also compiled an overview of what you can expect to see in this section.
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary Collection
This collection celebrates the final film in the original Star Wars trilogy, “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.” With fan-favorite characters like Yoda and the Ewoks, this merchandise is sure to hit all the right nostalgic notes.
There is apparel for everyone in the family! Adults can choose from a simple long-sleeve top with the anniversary logo ($36.99) or a women’s shirt ($36.99) with Leia and the lovable Ewok, Wicket, on the front.
And the kids are treated to a character-filled ringer tee ($24.99) and a girl’s Ewok-themed fashion top ($29.99).
And let’s not forget toys! Any age can enjoy these playthings (I am eyeing that Ewok plush myself). For fans of roleplaying or those looking to outfit their Star Wars cosplay, this Ewok Horn ($24.99) and Ewok Bow and Arrow Set ($29.99) will do the trick. And who wouldn’t want to snuggle up with this precious Ewok Cuddleez Plush ($39.99)?
For toys that are more geared towards collectors (although they can certainly be played with as well), this Luke Skywalker 40th Anniversary Legacy Lightsaber Set ($249.99) is an one option. It includes the hilt, blade, and display stand.
And droid enthusiasts will get a kick out of this R2-D2 remote control droid ($159.99). He is equipped with the same serving tray he used when he was forced to serve Jabba the Hutt. This 12-inch tall toy comes with seven cups, a serving tray, a serving arm, and a remote control. He also has a port for inserting a personality chip sold at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (he doesn’t come with one, though).
Under the Twin Suns Artist Collection from Jeff Granito
Disney Artist Jeff Granito has created two deluxe art prints in his eye-catching and colorful art style as part of his Under the Twin Suns Artist Collection. Both of the prints are based on that classic cantina scene from Star Wars: A New Hope (I can hear the band now!). Each print is $44.99 and measures 14 inches by 18 inches.
Han Solo and Greedo are the focus of the first print, “First Shot,” which depicts the pair’s standoff in Mos Eisley.
And Obi-Wan Kenobi is poised to defend against any foe in “You’ll Be Dead.”
And if you are visiting Disneyland, you’ll want to stop by The Star Trader in Tomorrowland to check out (and buy!) more items in this collection.
nuiMOs Visit a Galaxy Far, Far Away
Even Disney nuiMOs are getting in on the Star Wars Day festivities with several themed releases.
Perhaps the most exciting of the bunch is this new Yoda nuiMOs plush ($19.99). You can remove his cloak to dress him up in any of the other nuiMOs outfits. Speaking of which …
You can add these three Star Wars-inspired outfits to your (nuiMOs-sized) closet! They cost $12.99 and are available in Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Stormtrooper styles.
The final item is a set of three lightsabers ($12.99) designed for nuiMOs. They don’t light up, but the blades are translucent, and the hilt has a loop to slip over the nuiMOs hand so it can hold it.
Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures
The new kid-oriented “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” show, which follows a team of Jedi younglings as they learn more about the ways of the Force while growing as individuals, debuted on Disney+ today, and there is already new merchandise.
Meet Nubs. In addition to training to be a Jedi, he is also moonlighting as a plush toy ($22.99)!
I get the feeling Disney is anticipating Nubs to be the favorite because, in addition to a plush, he is also the star of his own kids’ shirt ($22.99). The whole cast is featured on the girl’s shirt ($22.99).
Like the shirt for girls, this 8-ounce tumbler with straw ($14.99) includes all of the show’s heroes. But on this, they are shown as wrap-around artwork overlaid with floating glitter.
RSVLTS Star Wars Collection
The Hoboken, New Jersey-based pop culture clothing line RSVLTS (read as “rose-uh-velts”) has joined with Disney for this shopDisney-exclusive set of adult shirts to celebrate the 40th anniversary of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.” Each one is made in the button-up style and costs $72. Some of the items are on pre-order but do not have a ship date listed.
The “Jedi Temple” design includes different characters dressed in outfits from “Return of the Jedi” but portrays them as stained glass windows. This item is on pre-order.
A block print containing snips of scenes from the movie is used on “Trilogy’s End.”
Another pre-order piece, “Space In-Vaders,” has Darth Vader front and center.
And “Let’s Cruise” celebrates all of the different space vessels seen in “Return of the Jedi.”
NEW! A New Ravensburger’s Star Wars Villainous Game is On the Way!
Ravensburger’s popular Villainous games put players in the shoes of evildoers seen in Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars films. And the company has just announced that a second installment in the Star Wars universe is in development. Following up on the first release, Star Wars Villainous: Power of the Dark Side, this new title will bear the subtitle “Scum and Villainy” and star Boba Fett as one of the three playable baddies (the others have yet to be revealed). The gameplay focuses on each villain’s unique abilities and incorporates different intergalactic vessels into the player’s strategy.
Fans can look forward to learning more about Star Wars Villainous: Scum and Villainy as we approach its August release date. But for now, you can get prepared for more intergalactic evil antics with these puzzles with art inspired by Star Wars Villainous.
NEW! Amazon’s Echo Dot and Alexa Use the Force
If you feel like your Echo Dot may be able from another galaxy, you can make it official with these limited-edition Star Wars-inspired stands. Sold by itself ($39.99) or as a bundle with an Echo Dot ($89.98), the stand comes in Stormtrooper (stand only/bundle), Darth Vader (stand only/bundle), and Mandalorian (stand only/bundle) styles.
And apparently, Amazon’s Alexa has been getting in touch with their inner Jedi because the program now has a slew of Star Wars-based commands:
- “Alexa, begin my Jedi lessons” includes nine lessons on how to develop your skills with the Force
- “Alexa, teach me a Jedi mind trick” will show you how to apply Jedi mind trick-like skills to daily life
- “Alexa, use the force” will have special limited-time interactions from now until the end of May
- “Alexa, do or do not” gives you a partner to bounce Star Wars quotes off of.
- And using “Alexa, enable the Star Wars routine” followed by “Alexa, I find your lack of faith disturbing” to switch over to Dark Side theme.
UPDATED! Cal Kestis Limited Edition Legacy Lightsaber Hilt
At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Park and Disney Hollywood Studios, guests can build personalized lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop. But for fans who want ones that pay homage to particular characters in Star Wars lore, there are also hilts made to replicate the ones carried by the likes of Luke Skywalker, Darth Maul, Ahsoka Tano, and others. This latest hilt is a limited edition item (only 7,500 pieces were made) inspired by Cal Kestis from the video games “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order” and “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” the latter of which was released last month.
The hilt is compatible with the lightsaber clip, blade, hilt, and hilt stand sold separately at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. By pressing down on the button on the hilt, you can cycle through six different colors (blue, red, green, purple, yellow, and white) to make the blade’s color fit your tastes.
The Cal Kestis Legacy Lightsaber Hilt ($400) is available on shopDisney and at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge starting today while supplies last. The collectible is limited to 7500 pieces. It comes packaged in a specially-crafted wooden case (with “Trust only in the Force” written in Aurebesh on the side) with a certificate of authenticity.
UPDATED! Starbucks’ Been There Series Makes a Return
Starbucks’ popular destination-inspired merchandise, the Been There Series, has explored different locales in the Star Wars universe in previous years. And this year, the Been There Series: Star Wars Collection will take us to Jakku, Coruscant, and Mustafar. Collectors can now purchase mugs with art depicting different aspects of these planets and the characters found there. Each mug costs $24.99.
The Jakku mug will highlight Rey, BB-8, and the remnants of a crashed Imperial warship.
Yoda, the Jedi Temple, and a group of Padawans are seen on the Coruscant mug.
And the Mustafar mug features Anakin’s duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader in his armor, and tons of lava.
In addition to these coffee mugs, sets of ornaments shaped like mugs from the Been There: Star Wars Collection are now available. Each set, which costs $49.99, includes three pieces.
This set includes Coruscant, Jakku, and Mustafar.
This set includes Bespin, Hoth, and Degobah.

Here’s a bounty’s-worth of merchandise from different companies to help you celebrate Star Wars Day.
Toys
The Mandalorian Voice-Changing Mask ($34.99) from shopDisney
This (mask) is the way … to change your voice to sound like the Mandalorian. In fact, this molded plastic helmet not only alters your voice to mimic Mando’s but also includes pre-recorded lines from Disney+’s “The Mandalorian” series, making it a great gift for role-playing Star Wars fans. I have spoken.
LEGO Sets – #75347 TIE Bomber ($64.99) and #75344 Boba Fett’s Starship Microfighter ($9.99) from LEGO
Build your own galaxy with these two LEGO sets. The TIE Bomber one is the more complex of the pair, containing 625 pieces plus four characters (including a Gonk Droid!). Once built, the TIE Bomber can fire “lasers” and drop “torpedoes” for interactive play. As for Boba Fett’s Starship Microfighter, it contains 85 pieces and includes a minifigure of Boba Fett. You can open and close the cockpit and activate the ship’s shooters once it is assembled.
Star Wars: The Black Series – Luke Skywalker FX Elite Electronic Lightsaber ($278.99) from Hasbro
For an advanced roleplaying experience, you can’t go wrong with this electronic lightsaber fashioned after Luke Skywalker’s blade. With the lightsaber’s progressive ignition, it gives the illusion of powering up, just like a real lightsaber. It also has a wide array of sound effects. And when you don’t feel like swinging it around, you can display it on its included stand (whether you remove the blade or not is up to you).
POP R2-D2 – Facet ($15), POP: Darth Vader – Facet ($15), and POP Trains: Darth Vader on TIE Fighter ($15) from Funko
And here, we have a trio of Funko POP figures. The two “facet”-style bobbleheads of R2-D22 and Darth Vader were made for the Disney100 Celebration. And the POP Trains version of Darth Vader, which shows him riding in a TIE Fighter-shaped train car, is sold exclusively at Amazon.
Games
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (price varies by edition and gaming platform) from Warner Brother Games

Disney Emoji Blitz: May Token Quest – Grogu’s Choice (Free to Play with in-app purchases) from Jam City
If you have been playing the mobile game “Disney Emoji Blitz,” the month of May offers you the chance to add a Platinum Grogu character to your collection by completing the limited-time token quest, Grogu’s Choice. And if you haven’t played the game yet, now is a great time to start because every month this year offers a chance to obtain an exclusive platinum character created for the Disney100 Celebration!

“Star Wars: Timelines” by Kristin Baver, Amy Richau, Jason Fry, Cole Horton, and Clayton Sandell ($40.41) from DK
This colorful guide chronicles the history of that galaxy far, far away. With it, you can follow the progress of key aspects like the Death Star’s construction, examine important battles, and learn everything there is to know about the Star Wars Universe, all presented chronologically.
“Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi” Paperback Box Set by Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, and Daniel José Older ($23.49) from Disney Lucasfilm Publishing
This set includes the first three YA novels from Phase I of The High Republic Series as paperback books (a first for these titles) with new cover art. It follows the trials and adventures of Jedi Padawans Reath Silas, Vernesta Rwoh, and Ram Jamoram during the era known as the High Republic, which took place about 200 years before the Skywalker Saga.

Star Wars Conversation Cards (pre-order now for $27.99; releases on August 1, 2023) from Insight
This 125-piece card set is packed full of conversation starters for Star Wars fans. Along with prompt cards, the set also includes a book filled with Star Wars lore to help deepen the conversation (or possibly prove who was right in a debate). The topics draw from movies, books, comics, games, or pretty much anywhere you’ll find the words “Star” and “Wars” smashed together in that nostalgic font we all know and love.
Disney100 Star Wars PEZ Gift Tin ($14.99) from PEZ
Like the facet versions of Funko’s POP! R2-D2 and Darth Vader figures, this PEZ gift tin was made in honor of the Disney100 Celebration. It includes platinum-accented versions of their R2-D2, Darth Vader, Grogu, and Chewbacca dispensers and a six-pack of PEZ candy refills.
Luke Skywalker Watch ($395) and Darth Vader Watch ($395) from Citizen
And for the most high-end merchandise in this showcase, I present these watches from Citizen, inspired by Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader. In the Luke Skywalker-style watch, the sub-dials display the hero’s X-Wing and his fateful encounter with Darth Vader with the Rebel Alliance’s insignia on the watch face. “The Force is strong with this is one” is engraved on the underside of the watch. And on the Dark Vader-style watch, the sub-dials show a TIE fighter and a ship’s screen display with the Empire’s icon on the watch face. The back of this one reads, “Come to the Dark Side.” Both watches use Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology which allows the watch to run continuously without needing a battery.
Star Wars Meets the 90s Collection
As the title suggests, the Terran 90s era meets the action and adventure of the Star Wars Universe in this collection, available on shopDisney and at Disney Parks.
Darth Vader Denim Jacket for Adults ($79.99)
An old-school garment with a Star Wars twist, this denim jacket leans heavily on the Dark Side theme with Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, and the Death Star embroidered on the back. The front features a small “Star Wars” logo on the breast.
R2-D2 Shirt for Adults ($32.99)
File this shirt under “apparel with graphics you can hear.” You seriously can’t look at this pocket T-shirt without mentally hearing the different whirrs and chirps we identify with R2-D2. The helpful droid peeks out from the front pocket with a larger image on the back.
Star Wars Ribbed Top for Women ($36.99)
The battle between the Light and Dark Sides takes center stage as lightsabers duel on the front of this women’s shirt. The lightsabers are embroidered on top of the shirt’s ribbed fabric. The lettuce sleeves and hem add a feminine touch.
Pullover Sweatshirt for Women ($54.99) – currently out of stock online
An intergalactic battle takes place all over this women’s pullover sweatshirt. On the front, we have the Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca in the background with “May the Force be with You” hovering by the shoulder and “pew pew” sound effects near the hem. On one sleeve is a clash of lightsabers and “Star Wars” with “Rebel” and Vader’s gauntlet on the other. And on the back, the Falcon zips away from the Death Star, leaving the famous preamble “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…” in its wake.
Star War Bike Shorts for Women ($36.99)
Another piece of apparel created for women, these bike shorts are made from a faux leather stretch fabric (87% polyester and 17% spandex). The screen-printed logo on the left leg and the lightsaber tag at the waist help you show off your fandom while working out.

Star Wars Day “May the 4th Be With You” 2023 Adult Shirt ($29.99)
The front of this adult-sized shirt is lined with several galactic libations concocted at Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (located in Disneyland Park and Disney Hollywood Studios). On the back is the logo for this year’s Star Wars Day.
Star Wars Day “May the 4th Be With You” 2023 Adult Hoodie ($54.99)
Like the adult’s shirt, the adult’s zippered hoodie is inspired by Oga’s Cantina. Greedo peeks out behind a small version of the Star Wars Day logo on the front chest. The back is decorated with a tray of Oga’s Cantina alcoholic beverages and the phrase “Take Me to the Cantina.”
Star Wars Day “May the 4th Be With You” 2023 Tumbler with Straw ($24.99)
This 11-inch tall tumbler with straw is the last item in this collection with an Oga’s Cantina theme. One side says, “Take Me to the Cantina,” with the opposite side displaying the Star Wars Day logo. However, rather than having images of different drinks wrapped around it, the tumbler is decorated with the various aliens allegedly found at Oga’s Cantina (including the band from the Mos Eisley Cantina!). That said, we have yet to see any of these guys actually make their way into Oga’s that we can see for ourselves.
Star Wars Day “May the 4th Be With You” 2023 Kids Shirt ($19.99)
Residents of that Galaxy Far, Far Away line the bottom of this kid’s shirt. Unlike its adult counterpart, the Star Wars Day logo is on the front of the garment.
Star Wars Day “May the 4th Be With You” 2023 MagicBand+ ($64.99)
The puck on this MagicBand+ features the Star Wars logo with Tatooine’s twin suns rising behind it. Its band is covered with the same alien beings seen on the tumbler with straw, joined by the Star Wars Day 2023 logo. It is a limited edition of 5400 pieces.
This item is actually a pre-order and is expected to be available starting May 8, 2023.
NEW Star Wars Merchandise from Funko Games
It’s up to you to decide who gains control over the galaxy in Funko Games’ upcoming Star Wars Rivals Game. Choose between the Light Side or the Dark Side of the Force and battle it out to gain territory across familiar locales. Players will need to forge strategies that make use of each of their characters’ unique abilities. And you can always expand your roster with Booster Packs (more on that in a moment)! Intended for two players aged 7 and up, a standard gameplay session will last about 20 minutes.
Similar to Funko Games’ popular Disney Kingdomania Game, Star Wars Rivals offers two ways to acquire the game pieces used to play, a Premier Set and Booster Packs. Let’s break them down.
Star Wars Rivals – Premier Set ($19.99)
You can purchase a Premier Set, which includes everything you would need to play, including exclusive characters and special locations, but the included pieces are predetermined. You can still expand your options with Booster Packs, however.
The Premier Set includes:
- 4 Character Cards
- 4 Character Movers
- 2 Character Tokens
- 14 Action Cards
- 12 Location Cards
- Exclusive Prism Die
- 12 Influence Loss Tokens
- 3 Location Markers
- High Ground Marker

Star Wars Rivals – Booster Pack ($4.99 each)
If you are relying solely on Booster Packs to play, you will need to buy two of them, a Light Side version and a Dark Side version. Alternatively, Booster Packs can be used to add your character options after purchasing the Premier Set.
Each Booster Pack includes:
- 1 Character Card
- 1 Character Mover
- 2 Character Tokens
- 5 Action Cards
- 2 Location Cards
- Die
- 6 Influence Loss Tokens
- 3 Location Markers
- High Ground Marker
- Instructions
These booster packs offer additional characters and locations not found in the Premier Set. However, you won’t know what’s inside your pack until you open it.

Where to Buy
If you are attending this year’s Star Wars Celebration (April 7 through 10, 2023), a limited number of Star Wars Rivals items will be available for purchase at the event. Afterward, Walmart stores will stock the Premier Set beginning on May 4, with more becoming available in early June. You can find the games at other retailers later this year.
