Disney Kingdomania, an upcoming board game by Funko Games, features 8-bit versions of Disney and Pixar friends with a dash of mystery bag mayhem. We recently got a sneak peek at the title, which is full of what they call, “adorable chaos.” Here’s a look at what’s in the box plus a refresher on other entertaining Funko Games Disney board games!
Playing Disney Kingdomania
Disney Kingdomania can be experienced by one or two people, aged 6 and up. The game places players in a world akin to that found in Wreck-It Ralph, full of video game pixel art-style characters, power-ups in the form of familiar Disney and Pixar items, and glitches. These glitches are causing trouble in this board game’s world, mashing levels together to create cross-over chaos. Failure to patch up the glitches will lead to what every gamer dreads, a “Game Over.”
Game Highlights
Building from Funko’s experience with unique vinyl figures, Disney Kingdomania incorporates figures of Disney characters in an adorable pixel-art style. The company made 40 figures for this game. You can look forward to seeing fan favorites like Tiana, Buzz Lightyear, and of course, Mickey Mouse! Plus clever items like Pluto’s Dog House, Lilo’s Scrump, and Nick Wilde’s Pawpsicle, are also part of the mix.
The board itself is made up of individual, connecting tiles. This is especially helpful for packing the game up into a smaller space, either for storage post-play or for taking the game on the go.
Expanding the Gameplay
The game is sold in two sizes. The larger size is the Super Game Pack ($22.99), which comes with four characters, 2 items, and 20 game tiles. The smaller one is the Game Ball ($9.99), containing two characters and 12 game tiles. Both of these can be played individually or be used together to expand your options.
This will be Funko Games’ first title to include a mystery bag aspect to the process of expanding your game. Players purchasing either the Super Game Pack or the Game Balls won’t know which characters or items are contained inside. But aside from the difference in the number of figures included, each has different benefits. The Super Game Pack is the only way to acquire the items figures, but the Game Balls have a chance of housing a rare “glitched” character figure, which is translucent with orange accents.
Disney Kingdomania arrives in stores in Fall 2022.
