UPDATED: New Spectaculars
Two new night-time spectaculars debuted on January 27, “Wondrous Journeys” in Disneyland Park and “World of Color – One” in Disney California Adventure. We’ve got some new details and video for you below…
Disneyland Spectacular: Wondrous Journeys
“Wondrous Journeys” features nods to every animated film released by Disney Studios over the past century. This includes moments from “Encanto,” “Hercules,” The Princess and the Frog,” “Peter Pan,” Frozen,” “Treasure Planet,” “Big Hero 6,” “Moana” and more. You can look forward to seeing Baymax in his red suit flying above Sleeping Beauty Castle during this show.
This show can be seen in several areas throughout Disneyland, including Main Street, Sleeping Beauty Castle, the facade of it’s a small world, and the Rivers of America. “Wondrous Journeys” turns each of these locations into an artist’s canvas to bring stories to life, animating classic and treasured characters you know and love. On select nights, the show is upgraded with the inclusion of fireworks.
Take a look at the behind-the-scenes process of recording the original new song “It’s Wondrous” created for the nighttime spectacular:
“Wondrous Journeys” will occur at 9:30pm at Disneyland Park starting January 27, 2023. Its runtime is 13 minutes.
And here’s our complete LIVE video from a media preview on January 26th:

World of Color – One
“World of Color – One” weaves a tale that shows how one small action can lead to many bigger ones. The nighttime spectacular features songs and stories of some of the most courageous and inspiring characters who dared to be wavemakers and change the world. This includes characters from “The Lion King,” “Moana,” “Coco,” “Mulan,” “Soul,” and even from “Avengers: Endgame.”
This new show is the first nighttime spectacular at Disneyland to feature characters, music, and moments from Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, the Avengers, and Star Wars in the same production.
World of Color – One is set to a musical score that is made of 18 different compositions, including a new, original song “Start a Wave.” This new song was written by Cody Fry, a Grammy-nominated artist, and features lead vocals by Loren Allred, a singer-songwriter/actress.
Here’s a preview of what’s ahead:
“World of Color – One” plays at Disney California Adventure at 9pm and 10:15pm starting January 27, 2023. The show lasts 24 minutes.

UPDATED: Magic Happens Returns
In addition to all the excitement launching at the start of the celebration, the “Magic Happens” Parade will make its grand return on February 24, 2023. The parade’s initial run only lasted two weeks before the closure, and we are very excited to see it again. You can see our earlier coverage of “Magic Happens” here.
UPDATED: Castle Makeover and Disney100 Decorations
Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have gotten some special Disney100 decorations. At the front gate of each park, there are decorative plaques showing off the platinum for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company (not the 100th anniversary of Disneyland, which is still a ways off!).
There are also new banners in vibrant purple and iridescent platinum on Main Street and Buena Vista Street.
Sleeping Beauty Castle has gotten an extra-special makeover, with purple and iridescent platinum as the color scheme. The final magical touch is Sleeping Beauty’s three good fairies floating above the castle entrance.
What we like best of all are the additions of two fountains in the castle moat. It’s a simple change, but it really adds a lot of life and energy to the already-beautiful castle.

As part of the celebration, the Disney Gallery has an all-new exhibit showcasing the development of movies and attractions from Disney over the past 100 years.
Inside, the gallery features artwork, models, maquettes, and more that provide a glimpse into the company’s history.
