There are some major changes headed to Disneyland & Walt Disney World that will help make guest visits just a bit easier in 2023. Here are the changes to park reservations, park-hopping, and some fees that will launch soon.
DISNEYLAND CHANGES
We’ll start with Disneyland and then show you the similar changes at Walt Disney World.
Disneyland Earlier Park Hopping
Starting February 4, park hopping will be possible starting at 11am — a major change from the current 1pm time. This will be available for guests with Park Hopper tickets or with a valid Magic Key.
Disneyland $104 Tickets
Although Disneyland can be an expensive place to visit— especially during peak periods like the holidays— The Disneyland Resort calendar will offer nearly two months of the lowest cost $104 park ticket for dates through 2023. (That’s a one-day, one-park ticket).
Disneyland last raised ticket prices back in October 2022, but the lowest cost ticket hasn’t changed in years. It’s good news that that lowest price will actually be available and isn’t just a marketing tactic.
FREE Disneyland PhotoPass
All ticketed guests and Magic Keys will receive free attraction PhotoPass through the Disneyland app starting February 4th throughout the Disney100 celebration.
Disneyland Magic Key Availability
And, select magic keys will be available for new sales “from time to time” throughout 2023 as pass inventory becomes available. We’ll try to find out if they will just suddenly become available or if advance notice will be given.
WALT DISNEY WORLD CHANGES
It’s not just Disneyland getting the good news, Walt Disney World will have similar changes including some VERY good park reservation news that we wish Disneyland would also implement.
Walt Disney World Annual Passholder Reservations Relaxed!
Disney Would Passholders will be able to skip reservations after 2pm Monday through Friday. This is a major change, and one for the better! Weekends at Magic Kingdom will continue to require reservations at all times. This change will take effect beginning April 18, 2023.
WDW Passholder PhotoPass Lenses
Starting March 20, Annual Passholders will receive free access to Disney PhotoPass lenses and 1 complimentary Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories experience. Additionally, beginning March 20, there is a new offering where APs can create short Disney-themed video slideshows with photos from their theme park visits.
WDW Attraction Photos Free with Genie+
In addition to the photo lenses which were previously included, Genie+ will now include attraction photo digital downloads, which were already available to Disneyland’s Genie+ users. This update will begin March 20, 2023.
Walt Disney World FREE Hotel Parking
Starting January 10th, 2023, overnight self-parking will be complimentary when staying at a Disney Resort hotel (Disney Resort hotel guests will continue to receive complimentary standard parking at theme parks, daily early theme park entry, and complimentary on-site transportation). Launch date to be revealed soon. Many of WDW’s hotels have parking far away from rooms and should NEVER have started charging to park to begin with.

It’s interesting that this information was released as coming from Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks and Resorts. It has been unclear how much of the horrible policies released in the parks over the last two years were the fault of D’Amaro or his previous boss, Bob Chapek. We’re glad to see some positive changes but are still waiting for drastic revisions to Genie+ and its impact on standby lines and mobile order for food and beverage which has made standby for food unbearable at busy times.
