After a recent night of violent fights at Knott’s Berry Farm resulted in the park’s early closure, Knott’s has implemented a new chaperone requirement. While attendance hasn’t taken a big hit, there has been some talk online about plans for some underage individuals to repeat their night of brawls at Knott’s.

Today, Knott’s Berry Farm added Sunday to their new safety policy, requiring anyone under the age of 18 to be in direct contact with a chaperone who is over the age of 21 at all times while in the park. The original policy, which was implemented on July 22nd, was in place for Fridays and Saturdays only. Knott’s has now extended the policy to cover the entire weekend. The park reserves the right to add additional days to the policy as necessary.

“…As a part of this commitment, we are implementing additional policies, following the well-received chaperone policy that went into effect this past weekend, we have decided to extend the chaperone requirement to be in effect Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and may add other days of the week as necessary. This extension is in effect until further notice and is subject to change. For more information, visit our website.

Knott’s Berry Farm also said they may add additional days of the week to the requirement as they see necessary. The weekend extension is in effect until further notice.

Knott’s Scary Farm Chaperone & Bag Policy

Due to the recent problems at Knott’s Berry Farm, the park has extended its weekend chaperone policy to all nights of Knott’s Scary Farm. This means that all guests 17 and younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old; one chaperone may accompany no more than four guests 17 and younger. This is a significant change for Scary Farm, and we expect similar policies to be in place for other Halloween events.

In addition to the chaperone policy, there is also a new bag policy that is being implemented for Scary Farm. Guests will not be permitted to bring bags larger than 6.5″ x 4.5″ x 2″ into the park. This goes for purses, backpacks, diaper bags, and all other bags during the event. And as usual, all bags will be searched prior to entry.
