What’s this? It’s another Disneyland Merchandise Update! This edition is experiencing a bit of an identity crisis as holiday merchandise begins to sprout up amongst Halloween items. We’ve got a scary, merry blend of goodies from both Halloween Time and Holiday Time plus plenty of clothing for those cooler days (and some for warmer ones) and tons of toys, too. You’ll even find an interactive stocking stuffer that you can order online. Here we go!

Signs of Upcoming Seasons

We are just halfway through October, but a peek into shops shows Disney is already preparing to transition from Halloween Time to Holiday Time.

In Downtown Disney, ornaments are starting to encroach on the Halloween section in the main room and pop up in more significant numbers in other areas of World of Disney.

And this 2022 calendar was spotted in the store’s section for Disney Parks 2022 Merchandise Collection.

At Disney Home, some seasonal merchandise has also started to be stocked. The two items so far are a serving tray and a musical figurine.

Disney Home also carries a large number of ornaments and a good number of stockings.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

Other holiday merchandise has also been sprinkled about the Resort. For example, this Santa Paws hoodie is available at the Fortuousity Shop on Main Street, USA, in Disneyland.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

And this Spirit Jersey Cardigan (yes, that is a thing) can be found in shops in Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney.

More Timely Fall Items

Autumn enthusiasts fear not. New merchandise for Fall celebrations is still being added as well.

Halloween

Haunted Mansion Holiday, the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay for The Haunted Mansion, celebrated its 20th anniversary this month (you can read MiceChat’s retrospective on the overlay!). There was a small handful of items planned for the occasion: a water bottle, a shirt, and several limited edition pins. However, the pins were a little late to the party, arriving on October 5 (the rest landed on September 27). Interestingly, on October 14, there were still two pieces of the Jumbo Pin left at the 20th Century Music Shop on Main Street, USA.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

This mystery pin set is not a limited edition series, however.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

Our Universe created this tie-dyed button-up shirt. It has a silhouette of Oogie Boogie on the breast.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

There must have been hip packs leftover from last October’s Haunted Mansion Series of the Minnie Mouse: Main Attraction Monthly Collection. You’ll find a bucketful of the accessory over at the Disney Dress Shop in Downtown Disney.

Dia de los Muertos

Every November 1 and 2 is Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the Latin American festival in remembrance of deceased loved ones. The holiday was an integral component of the plot for Disney-Pixar’s Coco. Disney released new merchandise for the film, just in time for the holiday tie-in.

Loungefly’s Mini Backpacks often get the spotlight but I am also a big fan of their Canvas Backpacks as well. They have a larger capacity and the embroidered patterns on them can be incredibly charming, as we see with this Coco design. Across the bag’s exterior are images of Miguel, Hector, marigolds, sugar skulls, and the guitar from the film.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

A print full of cutesy versions of Coco’s characters is used on these women’s leggings along with this kids’ hoodie.

In addition to the hoodie, kids also have three new Coco-themed t-shirt options. All three utilize the same character art style seen on the leggings and hoodie.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary
The magenta shirt with ruffled sleeves is intended for girls. The yellow ombre shirt behind was made for boys.

Cuddle Up for the Cold

Spirit Jersey is not only branching out into cardigans but they have added a track jacket to their repertoire.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

Flannel shirts are becoming rather en vogue and I am completely in favor of this development. Two new hooded flannel shirts recently arrived: a Three Caballeros design and a Toy Story Forky design. The hood isn’t the only trendy design feature on these pieces, either. They close with a zipper down the front rather than a row of buttons.

If you are hoping for the traditional style of a flannel shirt, you’ll be happy to see these Remy and Stitch designs. I am fond of the Remy one myself.

Quilted comfort is the name of the game for these sweatshirts and matching sweatpants. The muted colors look lovely and a nice contrast from the typically brighter apparel.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

The acid wash combined with the Alice in Wonderland imagery give this long sleeve shirt a sort-of psychadelic vibe.

You’ll find some new men’s sleepwear over at World of Disney. There are boxers and also some creatively patterned pajama pants. Styles include one with a mosaic of colorful Mickey faces and another full of Disney Parks attractions and snacks.

These stylish berets have little Minnie heads sprinkled amongst their polka-dotted pattern. Both are topped with a big, fluffy pompom.

These Mickey and Minnie beanie and mitten sets are sized for babies. The little hats have two pompoms on them to mimic the appearance of mouse ears.

And For Warmer Weather…

Peg Leg Pete and Clarabelle Cow don’t get enough merchandise if you ask me. These two shirts, one for each character, were a pleasant discovery.

Here is another pair of characters you don’t see very often. Pain and Panic, Hades’s demonic henchmen in Hercules, are the focus of this shirt.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

These women’s cropped tees either reference Moana or just have a general princess theme.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

It is starting to get too cold out to rock these tank tops but they look cool nonetheless.

There are also several new kids’ shirts with graphics referencing different attractions.

Plentiful Playthings

Disney seems to want to draw attention to this plush set. The Emporium, Big Top Toys, and World of Disney all have displays dedicated to them. The plushes themselves are made in the style of the now-retired Pook-a-Looz series (remember those?), with a similar flat body and embroidered features. Included in the set are Quasimodo, Sulley, Dumbo, one of the Dalmatians (I presume Lucky), the Beast. All of their films are celebrating an anniversary of some kind, which is noted on their VHS box-shaped packaging.

This limited edition Designer Collection Jasmine Doll was originally released on shopDisney on October 12. Some of the dolls are also available at World of Disney. It is still in stock online if you can’t make it to Downtown Disney.

Speaking of limited edition releases, the plush from Snow White Series of the Stitch Crashes Disney Collection was still available at World of Disney as of October 15. The plushes arrived later than anticipated (much like the Haunted Mansion Holiday jumbo pin) but it is still surprising that there were any left after their first day (October 11), especially such a large number.

There were two shelves full of these plushes!

In nuiMOs news, the posable plush versions of Jack Skellington and Sally are now available at multiple locations at the Disneyland Resort.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

You’ll also spot some new outfits for your nuiMOs along with a nuiMOs-sized garment rack and hanger set for storing the many outfits and costumes you have now accumulated.

This new glow wand takes its design from those Mickey balloons seen all over the Parks. The “balloon” is surprisingly big.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

Much like the shoulder buddy plushes worn by many guests at Disneyland, these Spinarounds toys attach to your clothing. However, instead of a plush pal that sits quietly on your shoulder, these guys spin around, light up and make noises. The two characters currently available are Stitch and Pascal.

Rosita from the Wishables Tiki Room Series finally landed at Disneyland. But you will notice that she is not joined by the mystery bag for the series on this display at World of Disney. In fact, there are no mystery bags are on the shelves at all.

Last week, we took a look at Marvel Eternals merchandise. The kids shirt and the action figures are available at the Emporium in the toy section.

Odds & Ends

Emporium (Disneyland)

Hats are a Parks essential and two new designs have been added to stores. One has Dumbo with his ears flapping about and the word “believe” hovering above him. The other has a stylized silhouette of Princess Leia covered in flowers with the phrase “The future of the galaxy is female.”

World of Disney (Downtown Disney)

Popcorn addicts should take note of this Spirit Jersey, themed to the salty, buttery snack. Both the “D” icon on the front and the “Disneyland Resort” on the back appear as though they are filled with popcorn. Art depicting a Mickey Popcorn bucket is on one of the sleeves as well.

It’s time for a new Ear Headband! This one is olive-colored with a shimmery bow. It is a simple design that could work with many different outfits.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

I love the classic character art on this canvas tote. The bag also has a shoulder strap and a magnetic closure on the top.

Disney Dress Shop (Downtown Disney)

This Loungefly Mini Backpack is from the same Popcorn-themed collection as the Spirit Jersey seen earlier in this section. The front zippered pocket is shaped like a Mickey Popcorn Bucket. The backpack is popcorn-scented (not a fan of the smell, personally). I wish Disney would stick to nonscented merchandise. The scented items seem to have a tendency to rub their smell onto other nearby possessions and I tend to be uneasy about sticking them in my backpack or my luggage. What do you think?

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Something Merry, Something Scary

The latest Dress Shop Dress is themed to The Hunchback of Notre Dame and is inspired by the outfit worn by Esmeralda. The print on the skirt matches a previously-released Dooney & Bourke set.

A closer look at the print

There are also several past Dress Shop Dress styles on a rack near the back of the store: the Pixar jumpsuit, the Around the Parks dress, and the Cheshire Cat dress.

Disney Home (Downtown Disney)

Mary Poppins once said, “In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun.” If you find remembering to hydrate to be a chore (or even if you don’t), you can at least add a sprinkling of fun to your drinkware with these tumblers. The included straws have themed silicone charms on them.

WonderGround Gallery (Downtown Disney)

Merchandise from the next round of guest designers for Disney’s Artist Series is available at the WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney. Placards with information on the two contributing artists, Deborah Salles and Rafael Faria, stand atop the display filled with their items.
