You are never too old for toys in my book. And you will be hard-pressed to find a better place to let your inner child loose than the Disney Parks. I’ve got you covered today. And, beyond toys, we’ve got accessories (for you, your phone, and even your dog!), artsy items, and even some online happenings. Let’s take a look . . .

Playthings for the Young and Young-at-Heart

Recent visitors to the toy section of World of Disney in Downtown Disney will notice a group of brand new Disney Princess dolls, created exclusively for Disney Parks. Each doll comes dressed in an outfit seen in their respective movie along with a toy-sized hairbrush.

What really impressed me about these toys is how much their faces resemble those of the actual Princesses. You can see this, especially in Moana and Merida. Their clothing seems to also have more detail than the typical Princess doll, with different layers and textures plus extra little foil or glitter embellishments on some of the dresses.

This month’s Wishables release is the Peter Pan’s Flight series. The mystery bags contain either Peter Pan, Wendy, Nana, or the pirate ship ride vehicle (the two mystery designs are different colors of this one). Additionally, Tinker Bell is available outside of the bag. I love the little pompoms on her shoes.

We also noticed more Raya and the Last Dragon merchandise added to the displays around the Resort (you can see those displays here). This children’s Raya costume was spotted at Elias and Co. on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. The matching boots are sold separately.

Magical Accessories

The light-up Mickey Balloon Ear Headband recently received a new colorway. You’ll note that one of the balloons reads “Walt Disney World” and the other says “Disneyland,” allowing the item to be sold on both coasts without altering the design.

Spirit Jersey is turning out to be quite the mask maker. Another one of their face masks, this one in Briar Rose Gold, is now available for purchase.

And Loungefly released a 2021 version of a previous 2019 design found on their popular mini backpacks and wallets. The print still features many beloved Disney Parks characters and icons, but instead of what appeared to be pixie dust in the background is replaced with celebratory confetti.

On the even higher end of the price spectrum is the Dooney & Bourke Robin Hood bags, spotted at the Disney Dress Shop. Amongst the floral print, you’ll spot Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Little John (in disguise), Alan-a-Dale, Prince John, and others. Here’s a look at the styles available.

Another newcomer to the Disney Dress Shop is this purse inspired by Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in the Disneyland Hotel. The woven straw bag has a patch of one of the watering hole’s signature libations, the Hippopotomai Tai. It is accompanied by floral designs, some embroidered and others made from shells.

This Merchandise Really Pops

For all us smartphone photogs, Popsockets are a lifesaver. And I am so happy that Disney has their own designs on the gadget. A few had sprung up here and there before (we even got some built into phone cases in the past) but now we have even more to choose from.

In addition to the standard Popsockets, there is now a handful of Popwallet+’s as an option. These incorporate the typical Popsocket grip with a cardholder to attach to the back of your phone for easy access. I positively adore the clever it’s a small world design.

Odds and Ends

We saw Spirit Jersey’s latest face mask earlier in this Update. Now take a gander at their newest piece of dog apparel. Themed to the pups in 101 Dalmatians, the black, white, and red Spirit Jersey includes the Disneyland logo along with one of the Dalmatians surrounded by a bunch of spots. While a clever concept, I suspect this might look odd when worn by an actual Dalmatian.

Based on the recently added mural depicting the characters of Raya and the Last Dragon, this deluxe art print by Xiao-Qing Chen entitled “Celebrating Differences” can be found at the Wonderground Gallery.

Jerrod Maruyama’s collaborative merchandise collection has added more cuteness for colletors (you can see more here). We spotted this set of six coasters at the Wonderground Gallery with the rest of the collection.

Hoppy Almost-Easter!

As mentioned in this week’s Disneyland Update, you can now go Easter egg hunting in Downtown Disney as part of Downtown Disney’s Eggstravaganza, which runs through April 18. Spot themed eggs hidden throughout the shopping district, mark them on a special card ($7.99) and then redeem it for a special character egg to take home. Egg Hunting at Home

If you can’t make it over to the Disneyland Resort for the Eggstravaganza, Disney has created another at-home option, the shopDisney Magical Easter Egg Hunt. You’ll be able to print your own “eggs” and the site includes an interactive digital map for the hunt.

The site also includes a link to suggestions for potential prizes and Easter basket fillers. Perhaps the most fitting of the merchandise is this Mickey Mouse and Friends Mystery Figure Easter Egg ($9.99). The mouse-eared egg, egg-shaped capsule not only includes one of five figures but also has a handful of confetti (get those vacuums ready).

The Mystery Easter Egg can contain either Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, or Donald Duck.

April’s Stitch Crashes Disney

March’s series for the Stitch Crashes Disney Collection has only just released (available online and in stores now) but that isn’t stopping Disney from revealing the one planned for April. This series is themed to The Little Mermaid and, I must admit, this blows the previous months’ designs out of the proverbial water. The concept of Stitch made with a marine-themed print and a sea flower by his ear is actually cute and does a fine job of incorporating the theme with the collection’s style. We don’t have a release date for April’s series at present.
