Christmas Day is almost upon us and while that means a great many things to many people, this year it also means the release of Disney-Pixar’s Soul on Disney Plus. And what’s a Disney movie without some memorabilia, am I right? Lucky for us collectors, there is plenty of Soul merchandise to go around! Let’s take a peek at some of the highlights . . .
Soul Merchandise found at Disney Stores and shopDisney
The Disney Store has a good number of their own Soul merchandise. Some of the products have also made their way to Disney Parks as you may recall seeing some of this stuff in my latest Disneyland Merchandise Update.
Made by Mattel, The Heart ‘N Soul Mini-Figure Play Set ($29) contains 12 stylized figurines. Some of the figures are more interesting to look at than others (I personally prefer the characters with earthly forms rather than the “soul” ones) but they are all pretty darn cute. This set includes Soul Joe, 22, New Soul, Earth Joe, Soul Moonwind, Earth Mr. Mittens, Terry, Earth Moonwind, Dorothea Williams, Miho Akagi, Curley Baker, and Soul Mr. Mittens.

Another previously seen item, I absolutely adore the detail in this Musical Ornament ($19.99). There are sheets of scrapped sheet music scattered along the floor, books on the top of the upright piano, a notebook propping up the chair, and even a cup of coffee cup set beside close-by. And it almost looks as if Joe is sharing a look with Mr. Mittens as he plays. So sweet!

There is quite a bit of apparel related to Soul to but none quite so interesting as this Woven Shirt for Men ($39.99). The shirt’s colorful print consists of different Jazz Festival posters, like ones you might see in the movie. It is quite the conversation-starter, don’t you think?

You can also accessorize with various related items, such as this Bead Bolo Bracelet ($44.99). I find the color scheme created by the pastel ombre beads to be rather soothing. Resting between the colorful beads is a silver-plated one with a bas relief of 22 on it. You can use the sliding bolo closure to adjust the size of the bracelet easily.

And the most subtle of the Soul merchandise is the blue-light blocker glasses by Privé Revaux. There are several styles sold on shopDisney but I particularly like The Half Note: Black version ($39.99). The references to the movie are the art and hidden messages found on the frame.

The Soul Collectible Key the final highlight for Disney Store merchandise. It will be available with a purchase of $25 or more, starting on December 31. And while not Soul-related, another key available that day is the 2021 Collectible Key ($12.99). You will find the latter in this dedicated section of shopDisney.

Soul Merchandise found on Amazon
If you prefer to purchase your merchandise through Amazon, there is a good number of items to choose from (you can find the main storefront here).
[Please note that I am listing the standard price for these items, rather than Amazon’s discounted rates as those may change at a moment’s notice. Additionally, some of the items in this section are only available for pre-order and as such, don’t ship immediately.]
I could be wrong but I feel like it isn’t very often we see figures for Pixar movies (Toy Story notwithstanding) but that is what we get with this Joe Gardner Action Figure ($9.99) from Mattel. The 8-inch tall Joe is accompanied by a 2-inch tall 22 in this set. While 22 is a static figure, our pal Joe here has plenty of articulation, which will be great for posing. And can I just say I love the sculpting on Joe’s face? He looks so happy and full of life!

Funko has gotten in on the action with their POP! figure line. Here we see several of the new and upcoming (Mr. Mittens is not yet shipping) figures inspired by Soul ($10.99 each).
For this figure, Joe Gardner is seen in his earthly form, ready to teach his music class.

Next is this Grinning 22 figure. The many hues were seen in this figure match those we saw previously on that bolo bracelet.

Then, there is Mr. Mittens in his earthly form. I really can’t get enough of this feline. And that pose, complete with a pizza slice, is so endearing. This figure releases on December 31.

Amazon also has some pretty swanky “feature” plushes for sale ($19.99 each). There is a 16-inch tall Joe Gardner feature plush that lights up and says phrases. The 11-inch tall feature plush of 22 has similar features. My personal favorite is the Mr. Mittens feature plush. Unlike the first two, which are currently available to ship, this one released on December 19. The 24-inch long kitty is weighted to serve as a soft-of comfort toy and makes noises.

Made with Soul by Hue Unlimited
In addition to the other Soul items on Amazon, you’ll find some extra-special products created in collaboration with four up-and-coming Black artists from HUE Unlimited. Each of their artwork, which you can see below, is a different vision of the many emotions conveyed in the film. I daresay that I would be hard-pressed to pick a favorite amongst these remarkable works.

There is a whole storefront on Amazon for all sorts of items featuring these illustrations. Here is a look at some of the options:
A Tervis Insulated Steel Tumbler ($29.99), seen here with Bee Harris’s “The Village”

A PopSockets PopGrip ($16.99), shown below with Corey Van Lew’s “The Great Gardner”

Smartphone cases, both Apple iPhone ($22.99) and Samsung Galaxy ($22.99), seen below with Bianca Pastel’s “Joe & His Fro”

A Men’s T-shirt ($25.99), shown with Arrington “Heir” Porter’s “Joe’s World”

If you can’t decide which art piece to purchase, this Pixel Fleece Blanket ($69.99) includes all four and can even be personalized, if you perhaps wanted to gift it.
