I should’ve known that my last list of “The 5 Disneyland Foods We Miss Most” would spark some debate. After all, everyone has their favorite noshes at the parks and we’re all passionate about them.

The 5 Disneyland Foods We Crave

For my last list, I tried to steer clear of the more obvious food choices. But this time around, I’m focusing on the tried and true snacks that no visit to Disneyland would be complete without. And with Disneyland’s reopening date uncertain, we all need a little reminder of why we will always be devoted to the Happiest Place on Earth.

And here’s where you come in . . . I’ve got them listed in no particular order— I’m leaving it up to you to pick your favorites in the poll below!

Disneyland Corn Dogs

I’ve had plenty of corn dogs in my day but there’s something about the ones at either the Little Red Wagon in Disneyland or the Corn Dog Castle in Disney California Adventure that make them unlike any other. Maybe it’s that perfectly hot, crisp exterior. Maybe it’s the juxtaposition of the soft, sweet cornbread wrapped around that juicy, salty hotdog. Whatever it is, my trip to Disneyland isn’t complete without one.

Pommes Frites

Cafe Orleans is one of my favorite restaurants in the parks. It sits in my favorite land (New Orleans Square) and is less crowded than its neighbor, The Blue Bayou. But if there was ever a reason to go, it’s the Pommes Frites. These gourmet French fries are always fried to a perfection and tossed with just the right amount of parmesan, garlic, and parsley to make them exceptional every single time. But the accompanying Cajun Spice Remoulade (a slightly spicy, zesty mayo dip) really takes it over the top. Ask for extra dip if you know what’s good for you.

Hunny Pot Caramel Apple

The elaborately decorated caramel apples at Disney Parks are beautiful to look at and a treat for sure. But I’ve never been a fan of biting down on all that crunchy, sparkly sugar or the decorative elements that inevitably fall off while you’re trying to eat it…except for this one! This caramel apple inspired by Winnie the Pooh’s love of “hunny” is by far the best one at Disneyland in my opinion. I love it for its simplicity of a crisp green apple coated first with caramel, then dipped in milk chocolate. Only a slight bit of decoration adorns it. What’s even more special is that you can only find it at Pooh’s Corner, which is located right outside The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh ride in Critter Country.

Churro Toffee

As a churro lover, I was skeptical when this treat came out a couple years ago, but it has now become one of my all-time favorites. You get crunchy, buttery toffee that’s enrobed in white chocolate and coated with plenty of fine cinnamon sugar. I always buy a few before leaving the Disneyland Resort because I’ve found that they keep incredibly well. If you store them in a cool dark place, you can enjoy these puppies for up to a week or two after you’ve left the park. It’s the best souvenir!

And if you want to make this item at home . . . we’ve got a copycat recipe for you that is both doable and delicious!

Red’s Apple Freeze

There are other frozen beverages at the Disneyland Resort, but none of them can compare to Red’s Apple Freeze at the Cozy Cone in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. It has a little bit of toasty marshmallow sweetness added to the frosty apple slush and is topped with a mango passionfruit foam. Those of you partial to Walt Disney World in Florida know this as “LeFou’s Brew” over at Gaston’s Tavern at the Magic Kingdom. Whatever you call it, there’s no better beverage on a hot Southern California day.

Mickey Shaped Beignets

Seasonal flavors come and go (the holiday peppermint and Fantasmic berry ones being my faves), but the original will always be the best. Soft, pillowy, and warm from the fryer, there’s no better sweet carb-laden snack at Disneyland. As soon as I get my order of doughy goodness from the Mint Julep Bar, I close up the bag and give it a good shake to make sure they get thoroughly covered in the powdered sugar on the bottom of the bag. By the way, if you let them sit and get cold they’re not so magical. I know from experience. So eat them hot. You’ve been warned.

Fried Pickles

Carnation Cafe on Main Street has a lot going for it with its charming decor and items like Walt’s Chili, Homemade Meatloaf, and a solid breakfast menu. But if you want something a little different that’ll satisfy your need for something crunchy and savory, their fried pickles are a winner. These zesty pickle spears are coated in parmesan cheese and panko breadcrumbs, then fried till they’re golden brown. My only complaint is that there aren’t enough in one order to share . . . well, not for me.

Cream Cheese Filled Pretzels

, 10 Disneyland Snacks We’re Craving Right Now – You Pick the Winner!

A regular pretzel at Disneyland is plenty yummy, but when you fill it with cream cheese, it just takes it up a notch. The cheese provides a level of flavor and added tanginess, not to mention a creamy textural contrast. Plus, it’s nice to have a slightly more substantial grab and go snack that’s on the savory side.

Skewers at Bengal Barbeque

, 10 Disneyland Snacks We’re Craving Right Now – You Pick the Winner!

I haven’t met a skewer here I haven’t liked, including the Banyan Beef, Outback Vegetable, and Chieftain Chicken. But the Safari Skewer (Bacon-wrapped Asparagus) in particular, has garnered a loyal and passionate following. When you roast asparagus, it not only gains a lovely smoky flavor, but it brings out the sweetness of the vegetable. Wrap it with a layer of salty, fatty bacon and you’ve got a winner. It’s also a snack that isn’t laden with carbs or sugar, so there’s that.

Churros

If you can resist the smell of these delectable treats as you walk by one of their carts, you’re a stronger human than I am. It’s a Disneyland classic. In recent years, they’ve also been adapted with many different flavors, toppings, and dips. But I like a good ol’ classic cinnamon sugar churro . . . what about you?

If you’re craving a churro right now, I’ve got some news for you. You can buy them (in bulk!) and enjoy them at home! Take a look at the article below to see other theme park faves that are available now.
