What has two sticks for arms, a carrot for a nose, and coal for eyes? The MiceChat Round up of course!  Olaf the snowman will begin meet and greets at Disney California Adventure and Samland looks back at the Peoplemover to start things off.  But that is just the beginning.  We also have a wonderful report from a MiceChat reader from this year’s Candlelight at Disneyland Park.  We bring you the wonderful news that Turner Classic Movies is now the sponsor of The Great Movie Ride at Disney Hollywood Studios and we also offer a trip report to Walt Disney World with the new FastPass+ system.  It’s not all Disney however.  We already have a great thread going on the predictions for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood and speculation of a new dark ride coming to Thorpe Park just outside of London.  Let’s get into the Chat action!

First, a bit of breaking news. Meg Crofton, President of Disney’s Parks and Resorts has announced her retirement in June of next year. Meg has been lauded by Bob Iger as having “devoted her career to nurturing countless cast members, encouraging them to achieve new heights, coaching them to succeed and helping them down the path, no matter where they wanted it to take them.” Disney fans are likely to have a different take on the news as Meg has long been a lightening rod for criticisms of lowered standards at Walt Disney World. When George Kalogridis was promoted as President of the Walt Disney World Resort, Meg was promoted out of the direct management of the property and largely out of the public eye. Yesterday’s news about her pending departure has been long expected by many. We look forward to hearing your comments below regarding your expectations for whether or not Disney decides to fill her position, and if so, whom you think is most likely to get the job.

One of the breakthrough attractions in the new Tomorrowland was the WEDway PeopleMover. Although it is now gone, it certainly is not forgotten. Where did this marvel of technology come from?
