Arrived, the moment has… Coca-Cola x Star Wars: Refresh Your Galaxy officially launches tomorrow, July 7, 2025, bringing a wide array of new collectibles to Star Wars fans. Thirty designs across bottles and cans showcase iconic characters and scenes from 1977 onward, with three designs exclusive to Disneyland and Walt Disney World!

We had the opportunity to preview the galactic collaboration, which places the Star Wars community at its forefront and unites fandoms across generations. Read on to discover the campaign’s inspiration through thoughtful interviews with Coca-Cola and Disney, check out an AR experience that lets you transmit uplifting, hologram-style messages into the atmosphere, and watch a humorous cosplay short film that fans will undoubtedly love. Coca-Cola and Disney go way back! While their relationship in the parks began 70 years ago with Disneyland’s debut, their roots stretch even further, spanning over 80 years. It all started when Walt Disney appeared on the Coca-Cola radio program The Pause That Refreshes on the Air in 1942. And the rest is history! After that, the partnership continued to blossom, with Coca-Cola sponsoring Disney’s TV special One Hour in Wonderland in 1950, and subsequently hosting an iconic spot on both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A.

Coca-Cola continues to leave its mark on Disney Parks in 2025, with products exclusively served at stands, dining locations, and dedicated spaces like Disneyland’s Refreshment Corner, hosted by Coca-Cola. The quick-service location, which dates back to the park’s opening day, July 17, 1955, sparked a trend that would soon inform other Disney Parks, from Walt Disney World to Tokyo Disneyland and beyond.

Coca-Cola has launched some impressive campaigns over the years, teaming up with Disney Parks, Disney Cruise Line, the MCU, and even a galaxy far, far away. That said, the company’s Star Wars collaborations are a force to be reckoned with. When Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge debuted in 2019, it didn’t take long for Coca-Cola’s orb-shaped bottles to reach fan-favorite status. Who knew a plastic bottled beverage would become a coveted Disney Parks souvenir? I certainly drank the Kool-Aid—my Star Wars Coca-Cola bottle sits proudly beside my Funko Pops and keepsakes. So, I was thrilled to learn that Coca-Cola is teaming up with Star Wars once again in another epic partnership!

Galactic Content To Unite Fans

Creative content across television, digital platforms, and community activations will ensure Star Wars fans everywhere can partake in the campaign. The galactic collab begins with new content set in a movie theatre, an iconic location woven into the fabric of both Star Wars and Coca-Cola history.

An epic advertisement starts off with Darth Vader heading to a Coca-Cola cinema to take in a Star Wars Movie Marathon… or so you think. As he arrives at the theatre, a world of Star Wars characters is revealed, from Sand People to Stormtroopers and beyond. Lord Vader removes his helmet only to discover… Well, you’ll have to watch to find out! But stick around to the end, because later on, a “droid”-induced glitch wreaks havoc, and one sip of Coca-Cola sparks a legendary lightsaber battle featuring some of the most iconic “characters” in the galaxy. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this!

The characters chosen for Disney Parks are a First Order Stormtrooper, Chewbacca, and The Mandalorian and Grogu, representing the Dark Side, the Light Side, and somewhere in between, according to the team.

But you won’t be able to find these within Galaxy’s Edge.

Unlike the Orb bottles, which are written in the Star Wars language of Aurebesh and don’t disturb the storyline/timeline, the new Coca-Cola collection will be sold outside of Batuu.

Fans can unlock an Augmented Reality digital experience to learn more about the galactic designs by scanning the Coca-Cola can itself or a Coca-Cola ad on the street. The AR Experience also lets fans send positive messages in the form of Star Wars hologram transmissions.

In Islam’s words, “The designs are very specific this time…Every character has a moment with it.” A lot of thought went into the moments they chose. For example, look closely at The Mandalorian artwork, and you’ll notice the concept art for Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run’s upcoming additions slated for Disneyland and Disney World in 2026.

Mando and Grogu will be added to the Millennium Falcon’s storyline at DL and WDW in 2026.

There are a lot of Easter Eggs to hunt down in the Coca-Cola video (shared above), but Becca says that her favorite is when Cassian Andor’s character realizes that he’s celebrating alongside Stormtroopers. (Blink and you’ll miss it.) How many Easter Eggs can you find? Share your favorite below!

I asked him about his favorite part of the campaign, and he shared it’s the AR hologram experience. He says, “There is nothing better than having every fan be part of the whole program.” He told us that Darth Vader was an important character to include, as “You can’t really do it without Darth.”

I was curious to know how the team decided which scenes would appear on the products. Islam shares, “We picked the scenes based on the shared values that we have. We wanted scenes that give hope, scenes that give connection, scenes that give community, scenes that give people coming together, people rising up, people lifting up.”

One thing I really appreciate about this collaboration, which was mentioned several times during the event, is that the team wanted to make something for all Star Wars fans from 1977 to today. Islam says, “We’ve made sure that the characters really spin between new episodes, old episodes, some of the spinoffs… We wanted to make sure that it represents every aspect of the saga.” I think this campaign will successfully achieve its goal: to unite fandoms and spread positivity. Coca-Cola x Star Wars: Refresh Your Galaxy debuts on July 7, 2025, both inside and outside the parks.
