UNIVERSAL MEGA MOVIE SUMMER 2026: Fast & Furious Coaster, Minions & Monsters, Jaws, and More

Following a second successful year of its Universal Fan Fest Nights after-hours event, Universal Studios Hollywood is doubling down with the return of the movie-focused Universal Mega Movie Summer, which takes place every day from June 13 through August 9, 2026 (and unlike Fan Fest Nights this fan-focused event is included with park admission).

This year the spotlight is shining on two upcoming movies, with exclusive and immersive activations inspired by the upcoming “Minions & Monsters” (opening in theaters on July 1) and the mythic action epic “The Odyssey” (opening in theaters on July 17).

Minions & Monsters

Guests can join the film’s all-new Minions stars, Henry and James, in Super Silly Fun Land (near Despicable Me Minion Mayhem) for interactive experiences and an energetic Minion Dance Party.

New treats at The Minions Cafe include Howard’s Berry Lemonade Cupcake and James’ Carbonara (cavatappi pasta tossed in a garlic cream sauce with pancetta and peas). Despicable Delights will offer Irene’s Orange Banana Float.

An all-new parks’ exclusive Minions & Monsters-themed merch collection features an all-new Shoulder Pal themed to the movie’s new monster character Goomi as well as blind box figures, apparel, accessories and more.

The Odyssey

Guests will be immersed in epic, behind-the-scenes moments tied to the Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s saga, including the exclusive chance to see one of the film’s original ships, which will be displayed on the world-famous Studio Tour. During the tour, footage and filmmaker commentary on the tram monitors, will provide a look at the making of the cinematic adventure starring Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Zendaya.

Outside the gates, the impressive 34-foot-tall Trojan Horse from The Odyssey will be on display in front of the Universal Cinema AMC at Universal CityWalk Hollywood for a limited-time beginning in July.

Fast & Furious

As part of Universal’s celebration of the 25^th anniversary of the Fast & Furious film franchise, a collection of authentic picture cars will be on display in Universal Plaza. In addition, a hip-hop performance by the Street Racers dance show and a daily DJ will add to the excitement as the countdown continues to the grand opening of the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster this summer.

Hollywood & Dine near the park’s main entrance, has already transformed into Drift & Dine, offering a Fast & Furious–themed, limited-time menu items, including:

• L.A. Drift Dog ($15.99) – Bacon-wrapped hot dog with sautéed onions, bell peppers, and pickled jalapeños

• BBQ Chicken Platter ($18.99) – Roasted half chicken basted in BBQ sauce and served with BBQ seasoned fries.

• BBQ Corn Ribs ($13.99) – Fried corn ribs basted in BBQ sauce and served with BBQ seasoned fries.

• Fried Elote Corn Dog ($13.99) – Corn dog with lime crema, cotija, tajin, and cilantro. Served with BBQ seasoned fries.

• Quarter Mile Funnel Cake (14.99) – Chocolate-dusted funnel cake with ice cream, chocolate sauce, chocolate whipped topping, and crushed chocolate cookies.

• Street Cart Watermelon and Pineapple ($5.99) – Fresh pineapple spear and watermelon wedges with Tajin and chamoy.

In addition, Cocina Mexicana located adjacent to Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will serve a shareable La Familia Meal (8 tacos, rice, beans, chips, guacamole, salsa, and 4 chocolate Oreo tire conchas).

New merchandise celebrating the anniversary will be available at the 101 Exchange store, located at Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.

Jaws

There couldn’t be a Mega Movie Summer without a tribute to the original summer blockbuster, and this year, Jaws will take a bite out of Mel’s Diner with a themed menu of returning favorites:

• Shark Bait Burger – All-beef burger topped with smoked beef brisket, American cheese, and pickles served with fries
• Fish & Chicken Basket – Beer-battered cod and fried chicken tenders served with seasoned pub fries and a side of tartar sauce.
• Lobster Roll on buttered roll with lettuce. Served with fries and tartar sauce

• Livesaver Swirl – Vanilla soft serve, strawberry sauce, whipped topping, and a sugar cookie
• Amity Island Funnel Cake – Funnel Cake topped with Ice Cream, Strawberry and Blueberry Jam, and Cinnamon Streusel.

But that’s not all! Studio Scoops on the lower lot will debuts the Hello Kitty Jaws Blueberry Cheesecake Sundae and a selection of exclusive Jaws-inspired merchandise—including a new Loungefly crossbody bag—will also be available for purchase.

Wicked and Wicked: For Good

Fans of the witches of Oz will once again rejoicify as Elphaba and Glinda meet guests at a themed photo op located near the DreamWorks Theatre. 

A selection of parks exclusive Wicked merchandise will also be available.

Universal CityWalk Hollywood 

Several CityWalk restaurants are also joining the party, with themed menu items:

• NBC Sports Grill & Brew – New menu options in honor of the Fast & Furious 25^th Anniversary, featuring the Full Throttle Teriyaki Burger, Drift Tandem Skewers, Car Meet Platter, and the Nitrous Boost cocktail.
• Antojitos Cocina Mexicana – Two new dishes inspired by Fast & Furious: the Birria Burger and La Familia Platter.
• Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville – Two Jaws-themed items: Beachside Melt and the Forbidden Waters cocktail.
• Voodoo Doughnut – Two Minions & Monsters inspired Doughnuts: the Banana Cream Mayhem Doughnut and the Minions & Monsters Mischief Doughnut.

Ticket Offer

Universal Studios Hollywood is offering a Buy A Day, Get a 2^nd Day Free general admission ticket starting at $99 for kids (ages 3-9) and $109 for adults (ages 10+).

The first visit is valid on the guest’s selected date, but blockout dates apply to the second visit. All visits must be completed on or before December 16, 2026.
