A new year means making resolutions, sipping bubbly beverages, donning funny hats… and shopping for new merchandise collections at Disney Parks. Two Disney Parks merchandise collections, the Play in the Park collection and the annual dated collection, get a new look for 2025. So, as we wave “goodbye” to 2024, let’s explore some refreshed merchandise for the new year.
You’ll find these collections at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, but there are slight design differences in certain items to reflect the location. For example, the Play in the Park Spirit Jersey from Disneyland features attractions and icons from that resort (Pixar Pal-a-Round, New Orleans-style Haunted Mansion, etc.), whereas the Walt Disney World style uses others in its design. But the basic designs are still the same.
Disney Play in the Park Merchandise Collection – Disneyland Version
The Play in the Park Collection focuses on the fun activities guests enjoy while visiting Disney Parks, including riding attractions, snapping photos, and snacking on tasty food.
Among the returning items from earlier years’ collections are a packable rain jacket, Crocs sandals with custom Jibbitz charms, and a Loungefly mini backpack.
In addition to the Loungefly mini backpack pictured above, the collection features an ear headband, a crossbody bag, a fanny pack, and a Loungefly wallet made to match the mini backpack.
Not all of the apparel and accessories are made for adults. Kids and even babies are included with items like child-sized backpacks, Spirit Jerseys, and baby onesies.
The Disney Play in the Park collection for 2025 includes several different toys. The posable Mickey and Minnie dolls each come with themed accessories unique to the character. Alternatively, the deluxe figurine set includes 7 figurines of 8 characters (Chip and Dale share a figurine) and depicts Mickey and his friends as they “play in the park.”
A Mickey plush is also included in this collection. He is dressed in a camp shirt and is holding a felt cutout camera. It would have been nicer if they had made it a plush camera rather than something one-dimensional. Even just a plush rectangle with the image printed on it would look better. What do you think?
Redecorate your bed or couch for the new year with a new Mickey balloon-style throw pillow and a colorful icon-covered blanket.
Snowglobes seem to be coming back en vogue as a souvenir item and the 2025 Play in the Park offers one of its own – with a high-flying Dumbo above the castle!
If you are playing in the park, you are going to need all the energy that you can get. So, it is pretty clever of Disney to sell themed packaged candy for the collection as well.
Disneyland 2025 Dated Merchandise Collection
The 2025 Dated Collection includes merchandise incorporating “2025” into its design. It comes in two styles.
The first, which seems to be limited to apparel, has a simpler overall look with a large graphic on the front (either depicting characters, the castle, or both, along with the year 2025), but the majority of the garment is blank.
The second style utilizes an all-over print full of Mickey and his friends, colorful bursts of fireworks, and “2025.”
2025 brings us not one but two dated ear headbands. One style has plastic ears that light up, and the other has puffy faux leather ears decorated with Mickey and his friends and a translucent bow in the middle.
Among the other items included in the Disneyland 2025 Dated Collection are an articulated Mickey figurine and a water bottle.
This collection, like the Play in the Park one, has a themed Mickey Mouse plush. The 2025 Dated Collection’s style, however, has sparkly black fabric on his body.
Out with the Old and In with the New
