DCA FESTIVAL OF HOLIDAYS: Sip, Savor & Celebrate the Season!

Seasonal celebrations have officially begun across the Disneyland Resort, which means the Festival of Holidays 2024 has arrived at Disney California Adventure. This year, you’ll find seven festive food marketplaces, four performance stages, two new live shows… and a partridge in a pear tree.

Let’s start with everyone’s favorite part of the holidays: the food!

Festival of Holidays Food Marketplaces

Festival of Holidays 2024 has seven Festive Food Marketplaces serving savory holiday specialties, sweet treats, and specialty coffees and cocktails (most are located along the entertainment corridor).

Available Nov. 15 through Jan. 6

Festival of Holidays 2024 Sip and Savor Pass

The 2024 Disney Festival of Holidays Sip and Savor Pass includes 4 or 8 digital coupons that can be redeemed for select food and nonalcoholic beverages at Festive Food Marketplaces and participating dining locations throughout California Adventure.

And now there are no more tabs! Cast Members will scan your pass and you just have to enter the 4-digit code at checkout.

INSIDER TIP: You can order any available Festive Food Marketplace food and non-alcoholic beverage items at any Festive Food Marketplace register, so always look for the shortest line. Then, all you have to do is take your receipt to the pickup windows for each item.

In addition to the seven Festive Food Marketplaces, Sip and Savor coupons can be redeemed for tasting-size portions at the following locations:

Festival of Holidays 2024 Entertainment

Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season (performed at the entrance to Paradise Gardens Park)

In this festive daytime musical presentation performed Monday through Friday, Mirabel and her friends host a Fiesta de Navidad celebration featuring songs from “Encanto.” 

Performances at 1:10 p.m,, 2:10 p.m., 3:45 p.m., 4:45 p.m., and 5:45 p.m.

We attended the first performance, which you can view here:

What did you think of the new show? Our staff was mixed on the experience. All agreed that the venue, in the middle of a busy walkway with no protection from the sun, is less than optimal. While some of our crew felt the show was fun and upbeat, others lamented that other than Mirabel, none of her family is allowed to sing, and others do the singing for them. Some additional set pieces and decor would help immensely.  

A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel (performed on Buena Vista Street)

Heartfelt stories, timeless songs, and graceful dancers entertain guests on Monday through Friday evenings with bilingual performances of Christmas songs. Stick around until the end of the show when Miguel from “Coco” closes the festivities with his own rendition of “Silent Night.”

Performances at 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7:45 p.m., 8:45 p.m., and 9:45 p.m.

Again, this show suffers from location in the middle of a busy walkway. With so many empty stages throughout the resort, we are disappointed that Disneyland continues to make guests stand in the streets to watch performances, which not only makes it difficult to see the show if you aren’t in the front row but also impacts the general guest flow in the park. Otherwise, this is a cute show with fantastic performances. Since you don’t have a seat, feel free to drop in and out of the show as you wish. 

Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party (performed at the entrance to Paradise Gardens Park)

Join Mickey, Minnie, and the Three Caballeros on Saturdays and Sundays for a festive celebration featuring folklórico dancers, mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers, drummers, and 12-foot-tall mojiganga puppets of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

 

For us, this is THE show of the season and the real heart of the Festival of Holidays. Sadly, it is performed only on weekends this year (the days with the most expensive park tickets). If you attend on a less expensive day, you won’t get to see this fantastic show.

Mickey’s Happy Holidays

Mickey and pals dance their way through California Adventure to celebrate the season. Showtimes are at 12:45 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

Holiday Toy Drummers (performed at Paradise Gardens Park)

Join the Toy Drummers for a performance of precision percussion at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Meet Santa at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail

Santa is meeting fans daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Festival of Holidays 2024 Performances

World of Color – Season of Light

The seasonal light, projection, and fountain show at at Paradise Gardens Park celebrates the holiday with favorite music and scenes from Disney and Pixar films.

“Moana 2” Pre-Show

Ahead of the Nov. 27 debut of “Moana 2,” a new pre-show called “Boat Snack” will be shown before World of Color – Season of Light.

Showtimes are at 9 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Virtual queue is required for preferred viewing locations or you can purchase a World of Color Dining Package or World of Color Dessert Party.

Additional viewing is available around Paradise Bay on a first-come, first-served basis.
