My sister Amber and I were lucky enough to sail on a DVC Member Cruise in May of this year, and it was an extraordinary experience we still talk about. From the very first day, it was clear this was no ordinary Disney vacation—it was a week filled with Disney fans, unforgettable destinations, and a level of magic you just don’t get anywhere else. Sailing through the Mediterranean, it felt like Disney had truly pulled out all the stops, offering a little something for everyone on board.
Itinerary Highlights
The cruise whisked us away to some of Europe’s most breathtaking destinations: Barcelona, Florence, Rome, Naples, and Palermo.
Each port had its own unique charms—whether it was exploring the ancient ruins of Rome, wandering the vibrant streets of Barcelona, marveling at the stunning Amalfi Coast, or simply soaking in the serenity of the sea. Amber and I fully embraced each excursion, making the most of every stop.
My personal favorite? Florence! The city felt like a living museum, with masterpieces by some of the greatest artists—Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Brunelleschi—around every corner. There’s nothing quite like rounding a bend and coming face-to-face with Michelangelo’s David!
Onboard Activities
But as exciting as the ports were, the real magic happened back on the ship. With Disney celebrities, Broadway stars, and Disney historians onboard, the cruise felt like a Disney fan convention at sea. Amber and I loved attending the exclusive presentations and panels—especially the ones where Imagineers revealed behind-the-scenes stories about Disney’s latest projects.
One evening, we were treated to a Broadway-caliber performance featuring stars from Frozen, The Lion King, Aladdin and other Disney shows which left the whole audience buzzing with excitement.
And on another day, we sat in on a fascinating panel with a Disney Imagineering Legend and a Disney historian who shared the kind of stories behind the Disney magic that theme park nerds like myself go wild for.

Disney, of course, knows how to make every moment feel special, and that included the exclusive gifts and souvenirs. From the moment we stepped into our stateroom, we were greeted with limited-edition pins, artwork, and collectibles you couldn’t find anywhere else. Each day brought a new surprise—just when we thought the magic had reached its peak, we’d return to our room to discover yet another Disney treasure waiting for us. By the end of the trip, we had more keepsakes than we knew what to do with! Every guest received a custom-designed backpack to hold the daily gifts in our stateroom, but with all the other treasures we picked up onboard and at the ports of call, we ended up buying extra luggage to bring it all home. (Not that I’m complaining!)
