Universal Studios Florida rounds out the summer with a new parade. We had the opportunity to check out the new Universal Mega Movie Parade this week. The parade brings live action, animation, and old and new favorite films from DreamWorks, Illuminations Studio, and Universal. I can’t wait share the details, so let’s take a look at the newest parade in Orlando.
Universal Mega Movie Parade
The Mega Movie Parade takes place in Universal Studios. It combines parade floats, dancers, and favorite characters. With 13 floats and 100 performers, this is truly a mega parade. The parade starts and ends in Hollywood, traveling through Minion Land and New York.
Back To The Future
After the Universal Mega Movie opening float, we head Back To The Future. It’s a reminder that this isn’t a parade with just the hottest modern films; we jump through time to classic Universal. Can you say hoverboard? Well, not exactly, but the board riders do a great job. 
Marty and Doc, of course, are found on the float. But so is the classic DeLorean heading back in time. 
Sing
Next up, Sing! The dancers are rocking it out while Johnny is jamming on the piano. Gunter and Rosita are saying hello in the front, and Buster Moon is watching it all. 
As the float passes, don’t miss Miss Crawly taking care of things backstage. 
Minions Throughout History
Are you ready for the mischievous Minions? From Despicable Me to Minions: The Rise of Gru this float covers the Minions throughout the films. 
Kung Fu Panda
Everybody is Kung Fu Fighting with Kung Fu Panda. This float is rounded out with Poi and Bo Staff performers to Master Tigress and everyone’s favorite panda Po. 
Trolls
It’s glitter and rainbow time! The energetic Trolls are coming your way via caterpillar power. Princess Poppy, Branch, and Guy Diamond are excited to say hello. 
Ghostbusters
Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters! From the OG like Venkman, Zeddemore, and even Janine to new characters Spengler and Grooberson who have all come together to fight off some famous ghosts. 
A massive Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, standing above the float at 16 feet, Slimer, and more are keeping the Ghostbusters busy. 
By the way, did you know that Ghostbusters will be the theme of one of the Haunted Houses at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights?!
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
Stunt bikers keep you entertained while Elliot leads his friends as they fly off to save ET. 
Don’t miss ET’s spaceship on the back of the float. 
Jaws
It’s the Fourth of July, it’s time to have some fun! Mayor Vaughn is convincing you everything is safe while Chief Brody tries to interrupt and warn you of the shark dangers. 
The damage is done, here comes Jaws smashing up the Orca with Captain Quint aboard. 
Jurassic World
To complete the Universal Mega Movie Parade is the mega hit, Jurassic World. Led by the Gyrosphere Blast Vehicle, you know there is danger in the air, as your favorite characters wave hello. 
But watch out because T-Rex is drooling at the thought of wreaking havoc and maybe having a tasty meal. 
Bubble Wands
With the opening of the Universal Mega Movie Parade comes new interactive bubble wands featuring Trolls, Minions, and Jurassic World. 
The bubble wands have two features. Not surprisingly, they work like a typical bubble wand… but they also have an interactive mode! They will not only interact with the corresponding parade float, but they will also interact with other bubble wands. In addition to making bubbles, they speak, roar and giggle.
The Universa Mega Parade has been two years in the making. The result is a well-rounded entertainment experience that is something for everyone in the family. I can see it becoming a fan favorite and I know my family will be back to see it again soon!
