The wait is over! Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights 2024 is back for its 33rd spine-chilling year at Universal Studios Florida. We braved the fog to bring you the ultimate guide to all the haunted houses, scare zones, sinister treats, and terrifying thrills that await at this legendary event.

We’ve gathered all the ghoulish offerings for HHN33, so you can prepare for what’s to come. And now, ladies and gentlemen, we bring you…
Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights 2024
Universal Orlando‘s after hours event runs for 48 select nights from August 30 through November 3.

Meet Sinist3r and Surr3al, the monstrous icons who welcome (warn) you to HHN 2024.

Halloween Horror Nights promises to bring guests’ “worst nightmares to life within 10 all-new movie-quality haunted houses inspired by everything from top names in terror and pop culture to unfathomable original abominations devised by the twisted creators of the event. Guests will also navigate five scare zones throughout the park – each filled with hordes of gruesome creatures stalking their every move – and enjoy outrageous live entertainment.”

Despite the “Horror” in its name, Halloween Horror Nights offers a range of Halloween experiences from funny to genuinely frightening. We’ll start with the tamer side of HHN, the Scare Zones.
Scare Zones
It’s nearly impossible to avoid the hordes of scareactors lurking in the park’s scare zones, but the level of scare isn’t as high as you’ll find in some of the Haunted Houses. If you are a scardy cat, the scare zones (and select haunted houses this year) offer a level of fright that many find just right…
Duality of Fear – As soon as you enter Halloween Horror Nights you must choose a path: the visceral horror of SINIST3R or the unearthly terror of SURR3AL.

![]()
Demon Queens – Get caught in an otherworldly hellscape ripped from the darkest corners of your mind, where four merciless queens loyal to SURR3AL rule.

Enter the Blumhouse Run – A terrifying gauntlet of Blumhouse characters. From The Grabber to M3GAN dancing into your nightmares, this is a new kind of horror.
Torture Faire – Come one, come all, to the renaissance faire. Brave the gloriously gory medieval torture devices ‘til you’re put out of your misery.

Swamp of the Undead – In backwaters Louisiana, you’re about to be swamped by zombies borne from the bodies of trespassers killed and dumped in a nearby bog.

Death Eaters Return to Diagon Alley
While not quite a scare zone, the most loyal followers of Lord Voldemort have returned to Diagon Alley, where guests will come face-to-face with the Death Eaters through an interactive live entertainment experience – you may even be challenged to join them in allegiance to the Dark Lord.
This was one of our favorite experiences of the night. Don’t miss these sinister wizards and witches.

Fans can also shop for Dark Arts-themed merchandise at Borgin & Burkes in Knockturn Alley or choose from a selection of Death Eater wands at Ollivanders.
IP Haunted Houses
Insidious The Further
Step into the world of the Insidious film franchise with the all-new “Insidious: The Further “Halloween Horror Nights haunted house, where you’ll be immersed in a “paranormal dimension of tortured souls and demonic entities.”

The Insidious movies tell the story of the Lambert family, who are haunted by evil supernatural forces after their son is possessed by a demonic entity. In this year’s Insidious-themed haunted house, guests will follow in the Lamberts’ footsteps as they’re transported into “The Further,” the place where ghosts and demons lurk.

The journey into “Insidious: The Further” begins at the iconic red door, where the franchise’s tormented spirits and demons lurk, hoping to ensnare humans and steal their souls. Insidious fans will come face-to-face with The Red-Faced Demon, the grim KeyFace, the dangerous Bride in Black; and the vengeful spirit of the Man Who Can’t Breathe. As you make their way from red door to red door, you’ll travel deeper into a dark and timeless world where you must evade the collection of sinister creatures or your soul will be trapped forever.

“Insidious: The Further” is part of the Halloween Horror Nights events in both California and Florida.
Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines
The all-original haunted house will feature female classic Universal Monsters: The Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula’s Daughter, She-Wolf of London, and the undead, mummified Egyptian princess Anck-Su-Namun.

Guests will step into an all-new terrifying storyline centered around a battle between two unexpected alliances of classic female Universal Monsters. The house will introduce Saskia Van Helsing, a fearless huntress, and daughter of Abraham Van Helsing (who killed Count Dracula by driving a stake through his heart). Saskia now faces Dracula’s daughter, Countess Marya, who arose from the dead to seek revenge and destroy the Van Helsing bloodline. Marya forms an alliance with the She-Wolf and Anck-Su-Namun to face Saskia and The Bride of Frankenstein in a deadly battle only one bloodline will survive.

At Universal Orlando Resort, Emmy-nominated composer Sara Barone will create an original score for “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines.” Barone recently served as composer for BBC’s “Planet Earth III” and Amazon’s “Silver and the Book of Dreams.” She also participates in the Universal Composers Initiative, which provides access to the studio process and exclusive scoring opportunities like Halloween Horror Nights.

“Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines” is part of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood.
Ghostbusters Frozen Empire
Who you gonna call?! Based on the latest Ghostbusters installment, the all-new haunted house features iconic ghosts, creatures and characters from the beloved classic series, capturing the horror and humor for which the films are known.
This house is one of the most approachable for those who truly fear the creatures of the night. The humor, whimsy, and familiar characters of this experience make this a great starter house for HHN newbies.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire will transport you to New York City where the Spengler family teams up with the original Ghostbusters who are now at the helm of a top-secret research lab for their ghost-busting enterprise. With the daunting discovery of an old relic that has set free the vengeful spirit of Garraka, who threatens to freeze everyone to death, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their city and save the world from a second Ice Age.

“Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” is part of both Orlando and Hollywood’s events.
A Quiet Place
This haunted house is based on A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II, which takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where sightless larger-than-life creatures prey on anything that makes even the slightest noise.

The house will employ specific sound design and special effects to convey the silence in the films. In addition – and for the first time – Halloween Horror Nights will incorporate American Sign Language (ASL).
The all-new house will be part of both the Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood events.
This is how Universal describes the experience:
Fans will relive the tension that will come to life in the iconic scenes from the first two films, including traveling through the farmhouse that serves as the Abbott family’s shelter and stepping into the root cellar where Evelyn Abbott escapes to give birth as one of the creatures closes in. The snarls of the larger-than-life predators will follow guests at every spine-chilling turn, and guests must remember: if they hear you, they will hunt you.
Original Haunted Houses
In addition to haunted houses based on blockbuster horror franchises, Universal also creates houses with original storylines and characters, some which have become HHN canon.
Slaughter Sinema 2
Slaughter Sinema 2 is a sequel to the Slaughter Sinema house from 2018. Guests will enter a drive-in set in Carey, Ohio (a recurring HHN setting) showing a b-movie marathon where you’ll scream your way through “scenes from creature features, grindhouse gore, spaghetti westerns, and more.”
We LOVED this house filled with humor, a variety of theatrical genres, and great performances.

Goblin’s Feast
In Goblin’s Feast, guests try to avoid being the the main course as they treacherously traverse through a tavern full of orcs, witches, and, you guessed it, goblins.

Major Sweets Candy Factory
Following the Sweet Revenge scare zone from 2022’s HHN31, Major Sweets and the Mrs. have returned. This time, you’re invited to chaperone a field trip to their candy factory. But the sweet tour turns sour when free samples transform the kinds into candy-coated killers wielding sharpened candies…

The Museum: Deadly Exhibits
Think Night at the Museum… but haunted. Guests will discover “The Rotting Stone, the local folklore museum’s infamous new exhibit. An evil spirit escapes from within, possessing the other displays and decaying everything in its path.”
We found this house to be fun and creative. A museum where everything has come to life and is trying to kill you… but in the best way possible.

Monstruos: The Monsters of Latin America
With La Muerte as your guide, “you’ll be begging for piedad from three terrifying legends: the bloodsucking Tlahuelpuchi, owl-faced witch La Lechuza, and bone-ripping El Silbón.”

Triplets of Terror
In Triplets of Terror, “you’re invited to the Barmy triplets’ birthday bash. But beware, they celebrate by recreating their family’s murders. Prepare for a gory gathering.”

Live Stage Show
Nightmare Fuel: Nocturnal Circus – Step right up to a dark circus, a new nightmare that carries with it a sinister curse. It’s a thrilling spectacle of pyro and aerialists.
