Following the popularity of American Girl’s first foray into the world of Disney Princesses with Belle, Jasmine, and Rapunzel, has now expanded into a full-fledged collection with these latest releases. But unlike the initial lineup, these new Princesses also have a variety of costume and accessory sets to choose from, an option many American Girl collectors are long familiar with. And now, let’s meet our leading ladies!

American Girl Ariel Doll and Accessories
Ariel 18-inch Doll ($125)
The youngest daughter of King Triton appears in her mermaid form (well, outfit) for her base doll. Similar to other American Girl dolls, Ariel has a rotating head and limbs made from vinyl, all attached to a stuffed cotton torso.
The included dress features an organza bodice with ruffled sleeves and a skirt with a ruffled hem; each part is dyed to match her on-screen character, with details like iridescent “scales” on the hem and glitter mesh on the sleeves, waist, and hem. Ariel also comes equipped with a sea-flower hairclip with a yellow rhinestone at its center, a golden seashell pendant (that looks oddly similar to Ursula’s), purple open-toed shoes, and green cotton underwear.
Ariel’s Day Dress, Flounder & Accessories Set ($55)
This set has everything you need to get Ariel ready for her trip into the town with Eric. It includes the dress from that scene in the movie with a matching hairbow and pair of shoes, as well as a scale plush of Ariel’s finned friend Flounder.
Ariel’s Castle Ball Gown, Sebastian, & Accessories Set ($55)
The central item in this set is the ball gown Ariel wears at the start of her stay in Eric’s castle. A coordinating hairclip and shoes round out the ensemble. Sebastian, who narrowly avoided being the dinner’s main course, is also part of the set.

American Girl Cinderella Doll and Accessories
Cinderella 18-inch Doll ($125)
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo! Cinderella’s base doll comes garbed in the gown gifted to her by her Fairy Godmother. She has the same body structure as Ariel, with movable limbs and a head attached to a soft body.
Her gown looks modeled after the iconic outfit seen in her classic Disney movie. To add that extra flourish, this one has a silver foil print on the bodice and glitter detail covering the skirt. … American Girl included Cinderella’s classic glass (well, plastic) slippers.
Cinderella’s Day Dress, Friends, & Accessories Set ($55)
You can almost hear the tune of “Sing, Sweet Nightingale” upon looking at this set. It contains a dressed-up version of Cinderella’s work outfit (note the floral embroidery on the bodice), a white apron, a hair kerchief, a hairbow, matching shoes, and her two mice buddies, Jaq and Gus.
Cinderella’s Original Ball Gown & Accessories Set ($55)
I absolutely love that American Girl chose to include this dress for Cinderella. The soon-to-be princess crafted this ball gown from one of her mother’s dresses, making the included faux scissors, measuring tape, and dress-maker’s guidebook perfect accessories. A beaded necklace, a headband, and a pair of shoes round of this set.

American Girl Tiana Doll and Accessories
Tiana 18-inch Doll ($125)
You don’t have to book a table at Tiana’s Palace to be granted an audience with this remarkable princess! American Girl’s Tiana doll has the same body structure as her princess pals, Cinderella and Ariel.
Tiana comes dressed in her magical, flower-inspired wedding gown. Highlights for the dress include a green satin bodice and overskirt, a yellow organza skirt, and an underskirt accented with a yellow flower at the waist. The outfit also has coordinating elbow-length gloves, shoes, green underwear, and a headband.
Tiana is the only one of the American Girl Disney Princess trio to not include animal friends in any of her two costume & accessory sets, but that is likely because of the scenes selected as inspirations for them, which don’t focus on sidekick interactions. A cursed version of Naveen could have possibly been added to the Evening Star set, which is detailed below. However, American Girl dolls tend to focus less on romance and more on girls’ daily lives and dreams, so adding him in might feel out of character for the series.
Tiana’s Work Dress & Accessories Set ($55)
This set focuses on the café uniform from Tiana’s day job (a yellow A-line dress and black shoes). She is also serving up a plate of beignets that look good enough to eat. The set rounds out with her hat and overcoat for her trolley ride back home.

Tiana’s Evening Star Dress & Accessories ($55)
Princess Tiana’s second set is taken from the LeBouf’s ball when she wishes on the Evening Star for her restaurant. The set’s blue dress is accompanied by a tiara, necklace, gloves, and matching blue shoes. The final touch is the menu she created with her father for Tiana’s Place, her dream restaurant.
Like the other two Princess dolls, Tiana’s items are also sold as a bundle for $235.
