Disney shocked loyal customers in 2021 when they began closing their brick-and-mortar stores from coast to coast. Since then, we’ve been shopping with shopDisney online (or in the parks if we’re lucky). Now comes word that Disney’s online store will rebrand back to its original moniker, the Disney Store. Disney spells out what the switchover means in shopDisney’s Guest Service FAQ. However, there is one big elephant in the room: are the actual Disney Stores returning?

What to Expect from the Disney Store Rebranding
The change is set to begin on February 14 in the United States but has already occurred in the Asian and European markets. We can expect site outages intermittently while the changeover is in process.
As for where we will see the “Disney Store” label, it will appear everywhere Disney merchandise is sold, with the exception of World of Disney and other Disney Parks and Resorts shopping venues.
Social media channels will also change their handles to match the new branding. And the website itself will receive a new look.
What About Disney Stores?
While the return of Disney Store retail locations isn’t confirmed within this FAQ, it is hard to imagine the rebranding not being a step in that direction.
