We’re hot off the heels of this past weekend’s Destination D23 event at Walt Disney World. In terms of news, we have some glimpses into the future of Disney Parks around the world, and big changes are in store for next year’s D23 Expo – now known as D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is lined up to be a “one-of-a-kind fan experience like never before with spectacular shows, new venues, and multiple days of entertainment that will bring together the best of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and more“.
Disney says the expanded event will take place August 4th through the 11th, 2024, all around Anaheim, with an expo and marketplace portion taking place August 9th-11th at the Anaheim Convention Center. New activities are being added all over the city, but most importantly, the bigger D23 Hall presentations (which are notoriously difficult to get into) will now be hosted at the much larger Honda Center in Anaheim. The question is — will there be shuttles taking guests to and from the Convention Center and Honda Center? Or will guests need to pay to park twice? It already sounds like a headache, but it could ultimately be worth it if more attendees can make it into the most sought-after panels without camping out.
The current schedule includes:
- Sunday, August 4th: D23 Day at Angel Stadium, where D23 fans are invited to attend the Los Angeles Angels vs. New York Mets game.
- Thursday, August 8th: D23 kickoff celebration at Disneyland Resort.
- Friday, August 9 – Sunday, August 11: Shopping, exhibits, panels, and presentations will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center during the day, with the fun extending into the evening at the Honda Center, the bigger home to marquee shows.

Tickets for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event will go on sale in Spring 2024, with ticketing options to be announced later for access to the Anaheim Convention Center and the Honda Center. Admission for D23 Day at Angel Stadium and the D23 kickoff celebration at Disneyland Resort will be available as separate ticketed events. Additional details will be announced in early 2024.
Let Us Know What You Think!
What do you think of the expanded 2024 D23 event? Are you happy the bigger panels will take place at a larger venue, or has it become too complicated with several event locations? What sorts of panels and improvements would make the event a don’t-miss for you?
