It’s no longer Holiday time at the Disneyland Resort, but it’s also not quite time for the official kick-off to the Disney100 celebrations that start January 27. To drum up excitement for Disney100 at Disneyland, there are a few new menu items around the resort— but perhaps most exciting is the return of a refillable Popcorn bucket! I’ll take a look and share some of my must-try items found around Disneyland.

Magic Key Refillable Popcorn Bucket

While the height of excitement among key holders was surely a refillable popcorn option, the insanity that often surrounds new items like this didn’t seem to happen this time. I found you could easily purchase them at any one of the popcorn carts in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

The popcorn bucket is $12.25 and is available only to Magic Key Holders, as are the $1.50 refills. The traditional plastic bucket is wrapped with Disney100-inspired original artwork and is available through February 12th. Refills are also only available through February 12, so you’d better get snacking!

New Disneyland Food

There are also some new menu items in the Disneyland Resort. I’d like to share the few that really stood out. Hopefully, the official Disney100 celebration kick-off brings a more exciting array.

Jolly Holiday

Over at Jolly Holiday, perhaps not “new” but a fan-favorite has returned:

  • Beef Birria Toasted Cheese sandwich returned with Pepper Jack Cheese, Onion, Cilantro and Salsa Verde served with consomme. The sandwich is a hearty choice with great flavor and will cost you $14.49

The treats here are usually very on-theme to what’s happening in the parks and we even got our first glimpse of the Disney100 chocolate treat badges. Here is a look at what sweets are available now:

  • Lemon Tea Cake Lemon Curd, Lemon Zest Glaze and a fresh Slice of Lemon $6.49, NEW Disneyland Foods & Magic Key Refillable Popcorn Bucket!, NEW Disneyland Foods & Magic Key Refillable Popcorn Bucket!

  • Mickey Mouse-shaped Blueberry Scone $5.49
  • Specialty Tea Sweetened Iced Tea $5.29. If you’re a sweet tea fan, you’ll enjoy the Specialty Iced Tea. It’s topped with vanilla whipped cream and has just the right balance of sweetness and acidity; you’ll be holding an empty cup in no time.

More on a Valentine vibe both in look and flavor was a new macaron:

  • Chocolate-Strawberry Macaron with dark chocolate mousse and strawberry compote filling for $6.99 and the Chocolate-Caramel Shortbread Tart, (very similar to the Twix tart of the Festival of Holidays last year), with shortbread, caramel and chocolate ganache, red-colored white chocolate mousse and sea salt $6.49.

Additional New Items:

  • Chocolate Mousse Brownie Chocolate Chip Brownie, $5.99 – dark chocolate ganache and white chocolate mousse
  • Strawberry-stuffed Croissant, $4.99 – This one was simple but well done.

Alien Pizza Planet

I’m personally not a fan of Alien pizza planet’s offerings, but I will return for this one:

  • Chicken Enchilada Pasta which was both delicious and flavorful. For $12.49 you’ll get the chef’s choice of pasta, seasoned with grilled chicken, corn and onion relish, creamy tomatillo sauce, crema, cilantro and corn.

I will not be returning for a slice of this one:

  • Chorizo con Papa Pizza. The description was enticing but it shockingly lacked much flavor at all. It was $8.99 and listed as a slice with classic pizza sauce, mozzarella & queso fresco, sliced potatoes, chorizo and marinated red onions garnished with cilantro and chives. I really hope that Pizza Planet can step up its pizza game.

Galactic Grill

As a former long-time vegetarian, I still appreciate a good meatless option.

  • Mushroom Philly Sandwich is a solid offering, with a price tag of $14.69. It has sautéed mushrooms, red bell peppers, caramelized yellow onions, crispy-fried red onions and chives, served on a sourdough hoagie roll with a side of Greek Yogurt or French Fries.
  • Blackberry-Cucumber Infused Limeade is a delightful new offering for $5.79.  Refreshing with a little zest to its sweet profile.

Additional new items:

  • Chocolate Red Velvet Parfait $6.99 – Layers of Chocolate Pudding, Red Velvet Sponge, Chocolate Mousse, and Crushed Chocolate Crème-filled Cookies
  • Grilled Pineapple Ham-Burger $15.49 – Angus Beef Patty, Grilled Spiced Ham & Pineapple, Togarashi Slaw and Sweet Mayonnaise on a toasted Brioche Bun

Red Rose Tavern

  • Strawberry Tea with Silver Sparkle Edible Dust. I was really looking forward to this item. But after mobile ordering this $5.79 sweetened tea, it didn’t have any sparkle to it in taste or looks. Apparently, the sparkle is only available for those who order it during the after-dark event Sweethearts Nite.

A good breakfast can be hard to come by in the parks and this new one is good option:

  • Gourmet Breakfast Sandwich comes with an egg, herb blend Creme Fraiche, Maple Butter Spread, Muenster cheese and Crispy Bacon on a Toasted English Muffin. Although it will cost you $10.99.

Truth be told, I’m a highly caffeinated coffee fan, but the cold brews here frequently miss the mark for me in flavor.

  • Taverne Cold Brew has caramel, vanilla and cinnamon with cream and tastes like all the syrups used to create it. This new item sells for $6.29.

Bengal BBQ

With the renovations happening to Indiana Jones, Adventureland is now a dead end at Bengal BBQ. But if you get stuck here, try this new item:

  • Island-inspired Pineapple Shrimp Skewer with grilled shrimp, spicy sausage and sweet Pineapple for $8.49

Hungry Bear

I never met a Lemon treat I didn’t like, and if you’re like me you’ll enjoy this new item:

  • Classic Lemon Chiffon Pie here with its graham cracker crust and vanilla chantilly cream ($7.99)

Additional new items:

  • Loaded Chocolate Chip Funnel Cake $9.90
  • Berry Lemonade $5.99

Refreshment Corner

  • BBQ Picnic Dog Pulled Pork-topped Foot-long Hot Dog, Coca-Cola BBQ Sauce and Coleslaw $13.49
