Abracadabra! Merlin’s Marvelous Miscellany Opens at Disneyland

Hear ye, hear ye! The newest shop at Disneyland has just opened in Fantasyland. This particular space is not new (having been a heraldry shop as well as a Christmas shop, among other things in the past), but the space was given a retheme since its closure last year. Here’s a look at the new magic in the tiny space.

The shop is located right next to the exit of the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough, just through the portcullis of the castle’s gate. It’s a small space, so it’s something you’ll want to keep your eyes open for because you can easily walk right past it!

 

Painted on the exterior of the building is Merlin’s magic words “Higitus Figitus Migitus Mom Prestidigionium” from the film The Sword in the Stone to give you a little hint of the whimsy you can expect inside.

The exterior windows have some interesting props that harken back to medieval curiosity with Da Vinci-esque books and items alongside merchandise sold inside the shop.

Once you’re inside, you’ll be greeted with an array of mostly familiar Disney products available around the resort. That said, there is an interesting connection between Disneyland and Walt Disney World in this shop: you can get a bit of Peter Pan merchandise usually found at EPCOT’s United Kingdom pavilion at Merlin’s!

Here are some of the shop’s other products that have been on shelves around the Disneyland Resort for some time.

And while merchandise is fine and dandy, we’re always a fan of the details. Looking around the shop, you can find an assortment of gizmos and gadgets that you’d find in any respectable wizard’s workshop. 

Here’s one last bit of magic from the shop. This book of esoteric wisdom (is it Merlin’s spellbook, Da Vinci’s writings, or something else entirely?) makes for a nice homage to Classical thinkers.
