What was once Disneyland’s Main Street Photo Supply Co. reopened today as the Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe. The store, located on Main Street, USA, will have merchandise for holidays all year-’round, with items from celebrations like Lunar New Year and Halloween included seasonally. Here’s a look at the brand new holiday store!
MiceChat’s Dusty Sage is there to give us a tour of the new shop. Watch it live here:
Theming for the Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe
As with any new addition to the Disneyland Resort, the Imagineers wove together a backstory for the Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe involving its fictional proprietress, Miss. Evelyn Toro. Miss. Toro, according to Imagineer Kim Irvine, traveled the globe and experienced how different cultures celebrated holidays then brought treasures from her travels back to her shop.
In addition to some of her knick-knacks, the Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe also has a portrait of Evelyn Toro on the wall along with other photos.
The exterior of the shop has new hand-painted signage along with themed window displays. The store is decorated in the Victorian Style and fits in perfectly with the rest of Main Street, USA.
Kim Irvine explains the new store:
What Doest Plaza Point Sell?
Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe will always have goods themed to the Winter Holiday season. But depending on the time of year, you may find other current seasonal merchandise on the shelves as well.
In addition to simply selling holiday merchandise, there is also a Cast Member on hand to customize many of the ornaments found in the store. This service is available throughout the year.
Guests visiting the Plaza Pointe Holiday Shoppe will also have the opportunity to purchase a handful of the items for 2021’s holiday season before the bulk of the merchandise arrives. There is a pair of stockings, a table runner, a tree skirt, and two pillows. These goods, with the exception of the “Stay Cozy” pillow (which is from a currently-unnamed collection), are from Walt’s Holiday Lodge Collection.
Holidays Ahead
We’re excited to continue to explore Plaza Point, but something else has caught our eye in preparation for the holidays too. The snow has just started to fall on Sleeping Beauty Castle even as pumpkins continue to delight guests on Main Street.
