Were you at the Magic kingdom on October 1st, 2021? If you were, you experienced a milestone moment in Disney history, the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort and epic crowds… especially for the stores. Those of you who visited the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT may have noticed, among the many, many new items created for the celebration, there was one collection, the Anniversary Collection, that was only intended to be sold on the actual anniversary, October 1, 2021 (but we expect leftover items will make their way into other shops). There are other 50th Anniversary collections as well with different artwork and wider selection of items, I’ve linked those for you at the bottom of this article. We encourage you to compare the lines and let us know which did it best and which items you think are the most compelling.

The merchandise for the Anniversary Collection was sold in the Magic Kingdom at Pete’s Silly Side Show and Big Top Souvenirs as well as at the Creations Shop in EPCOT. MiceChat’s Chloé Ferreira braved the crowds, and hours long wait (via virtual queue) at Magic Kingdom for photos.

It is important to note that the purchase limit of 2 pieces per item, per guest is still in place.

By 5:30pm Eastern, a good number of pieces were no longer available. As you can see from the signs in front of Pete’s Silly Sideshow highlighting the collection, the MagicBand, poster, ceramic, mug, and ornament, were already sold out before we ever got a chance to see them. The water bottle was marked “sold out” as well but was still stocked inside.

But enough focusing on what’s not there. Let’s take a look at what merchandise we did find!

Varsity Jacket

This snazzy jacket has a simple yet elegant Mickey silhouette (joined by Cinderella Castle) on the left chest. The back has a grand graphic depicting fireworks over Cinderella Castle with the Partners Statue in the foreground. Both the front and back details have “October 1, 2021” on them somewhere.

Spirit Jersey

Similar to the jacket, this Spirit Jersey has Cinderella Castle, the Partners Statue, and fireworks on its back, this time with metallic accents and “Walt Disney World” written in embossed lettering. The front has a side view of Mickey’s face and an iridescent Cinderella Castle along with the date of October 1, 2021.

Bucket Hat by Spirit Jersey

Also by Spirit Jersey is this bucket hat. It matches the actual Spirit Jersey from this collection perfectly. On the side is “Walt Disney World 2021.” The full “October 1, 2021” bit is on the top of the hat with the same image found on the chest of the Spirit Jersey.

Adult Tee

Are you a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder? Do you love numbers? Here’s a shirt for you. It has the year the Resort opened, 1971, along with 2021. The big “Passholder” banner is the middle so no one can miss it.

Women’s Tee

Women are treated to the most eye-catching pieces in the collection. It has an outline of Cinderella Castle with metallic-accented fireworks overhead. Very lovely, indeed.

Kid’s Tee

Kids get this cute little shirt with the same Mickey/Castle emblem we have now seen on several items. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.

Trading Pin

Passholders also had an excluding trading pin. It has Cinderella Castle as the central image with dates on either side.

Water Bottle

Perhaps the least interesting of the Anniversary Collection is this water bottle. It is a standard shape with a golden exterior and Mickey Mouse/Cinderella Castle image on the side.
