we’ve got quite a range of items for every taste in this edition of the Disneyland Merchandise Update. Here’s a quick look at what’s ahead… The grim, grinning ghosts of the Haunted Mansion have an edgy new collection. Plus, the number of baseball caps and Ear Headbands featured would have the Mad Hatter futterwacken with glee. And with all of the new iPhone cases and Apple Watch wristbands to choose from, your devices need never go naked again. We’ve also got tons of other goodies to share, including new toys by McFarlane Toys and Quantum Mechanix! There’s a lot of Disney merchandise to cover, and you’ll want to add a bunch of these to your collection.

Apparel and Accessories with Dark Side

As you might expect, Disneyland merchandise is, for the most part, lighthearted and upbeat in tone. But every so often, we come across items that are simply darker by design. These items are perfect for collectors who prefer items with a hint of a bite.

The Haunted Mansion

The art style on this Haunted Mansion line might be described as hip or edgy. It definitely stands apart from other Haunted Mansion merchandise with more graphics taken from photos and classic attraction art rather than stylized or cutesy drawings. This line includes several shirts, a pair of denim shorts, a pair of leggings, a fedora, and a backpack.

Additionally, we also found this shirt with neon art advertising Madame Leota’s psychic services. It’s a retro-inspired design and it’s quite eye-catching.

Other, older merchandise, like the glow-in-the-dark shirt and luggage tag seen in this picture, have also been added to the Haunted Mansion display in World of Disney.

Cruella

It has been a bit since the live-action Cruella movie was released but you can still find the themed dress over at the Disney Dress Shop in Downtown Disney.

Add Disney Magic to Your Devices

Apple devices, specifically iPhones and Apple Watches, can get an extra coat of pixie dust with new phone cases and watch wristbands.

iPhone Cases

These new villain cases feature 3D effects. You can choose between Maleficent, the Evil Queen, or Ursula.

This pair of Haunted Mansion-themed cases are the best of the bunch, in my opinion. I particularly like the first one.

This case with art of Powerline from A Goofy Movie caters to my generation and I can think of more than a few people who would love to own it.

There is also quite an array of Star Wars cases. There are some based on the original trilogy as well as the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian.

Apple Watch Wristbands

Apple Watch wristband choices include several popular Disney characters. They’ve got a few artsy renditions of both Mickey and Minnie Mouse along with a dash of Donald Duck and a pinch of Stitch!

Marvel seems to have an even greater assortment of wristbands. Some of them even include art from the original comic books.

The Star Wars offerings feature both R2-D2 and BB-8, which I found fitting since droids are another form of (admittedly more) advanced technology (though, they’re from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… Don’t ask me to explain it!). A wristband with art from The Mandalorian is also thrown into the mix.

More Marvel Merchandise

You didn’t think that just because Avengers Campus no longer has 6+ hour lines to get in that the Marvel merchandise madness would die down, did you? World of Disney has a bounty of new items for you Marvel maniacs.

This Spider-Man Ear Hat has iridescent “eyes” and the hero’s arachnid emblem on both ears.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech

There is also a new Loungefly mini-backpack with the Avengers drawn in a cutesy, chibi art style, much like popular Disney Parks icons, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Nightmare Before Christmas mini backpacks you often seen sold and toted around the park.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech

Also from Loungefly is this canvas backpack. It is not as new as the rest of the merchandise featured but I feel it is worth noting because it is stocked in the same area in World of Disney. Plus, it is just a darn good bag.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech

In addition to the backpacks, you’ll also find this Spider-Man crossbody purse as well as a fanny pack originally from Avengers Campus.

Forgot Your Hat? We’ve Got You Covered!

Even the most seasoned park-goer may forget their hat, which can be an essential guard against the bright Southern California sun. Thankfully, Disney is ready and waiting to supply you with a new lid. Here are some of the latest designs:

There are baseball caps themed to Disney Parks. The one with the welcoming sign that hangs over Disneyland is a lovely idea but I wonder if the metal would get hot after a while. If it were embroidered or appliqué, I would buy it without a second thought.

Plus, Ear Headbands!

There are also some Ear Headbands that we have not yet covered in a Merchandise Update.

This first Ear Headband is a redesign of an earlier Slinky Dog Headband from 2019. This new style incorporates actual mouse ears with the wallpaper from Andy’s room and replaces the character’s safety eyes with embroidered ones.

The Dress Shop dress was not the only piece of merchandise from the Cruella movie that was recently stocked. This Ear Headband is covered with faux leather and metal studs with a metal chain hanging from one of the ears.

There is also this plush Stitch Ear Headband.

Odds & Ends

For the last Parks-based segment of this Update, let’s take a look at all the merchandise that just didn’t fit into any other category but is still noteworthy.

World of Disney

I hope you don’t mind a flurry of folding fans, because we’ve got a number of them sprinkled throughout this section.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech

I can’t tell you how much I love this shirt. It combines the cheerful phrase “Best Day Ever” with the colorful Disneyland marquee and a Mickey Mouse silhouette. Plus, the heather grey of the fabric makes the colors in the art “pop,” don’t you think?

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech

Of a similar theme, is this blue crewneck sweatshirt. It has a castle with sparkles (pixie dust?) and says “Feels good To Be Home.”

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech

The Disney Tails collection has added a few more graphic tees for pets. Unlike the Spirit Jerseys for pets, these are much more affordable.

These Disney Flair backpacks and totes were originally sold at shopDisney and Disney Stores but, given that their biggest draw is the ability to display pins without damaging the bag thanks to its perforated exterior fabric, it is not hard to see why they made the jump to Disneyland. Both the backpack and tote are made in rose gold and black styles.

The July releases for Disney nuiMOs may not have included any new characters (such a missed opportunity for the Alice set, which is already released overseas, since the beloved film just turned 70 years old) but it did give us two fashion collections, Sports and University Trends.

Disney Dress Shop

Behold, the latest Dress Shop dress! This one has a Mickey Balloon print.

The Dress Shop also had several Dooney & Bourke bags with a Hunchback of Notre Dame print. It has a sort of stained glass look, which, given the inspiration, is rather clever.

August’s nuiMOs Include Princess Pals

The morning of August 2 brought with it several new nuiMOs items and I am sure many of us will be excited to learn that two of those items are additional characters. Ariel and Jasmine are now part of the North American nuiMOs family (they were released overseas a bit earlier). In addition to the pair of princesses, six outfits were also released as part of the Fashion Collection #4 range. Both the two characters along with the outfits from August as well as the outfits from earlier in this article are available on shopDisney and Disney Stores as well as select Disney Parks.

McFarlane Toys’s New Action Figures Enter the Disney Mirrorverse

In anticipation of the upcoming mobile game, Disney Mirrorverse, a collection of action of figures has been created by McFarlane Toys. This collection includes several 7-inch and 5-inch tall toys, priced at $19.99 and $12.99 respectively. They will be available starting this September at both mass and specialty retailers but you can pre-order yours now from McFarlane Toy’s Disney Mirrorverse page.

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech

The characters selected for this collection include Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Belle, Jack Sparrow, Buzz Lightyear, and Sulley. Let’s take a look at the designs and what each toy includes:

, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech
Mickey must have completed his apprenticeship wth Yensid because he is a full-fledged Sorcerer (and Support-type) in Disney Mirrorverse. His resplendent sorcerer’s regalia has gold paint accents. He comes bearing his Star Crystal accessory.
, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech
Goofy is a Ranged-type in the mobile game. His figure wears Steampunk attire and is armed with a boomerang and holster.
, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech
In the Disney Mirrorverse game, Belle is a Support-type. Her figure comes dressed in a robe with a golden rose emblem on her cape, equipped with her rose staff.
, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech
The sea-faring scalawag Jack Sparrow is a Support-type in Disney Mirrorverse. His weapon is a skeleton arm (perhaps caused by the curse of the Black Pearl), radiating dark energy in the form of a translucent accessory that can be removed from the figure, if you so choose. Jack boasts up to 22 points of articulation, compared to the majority of the collection, which has up to 10 points of articulation.
, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech
In original Toy Story movie, Buzz came with a toy laser gun and arm cannon. The trend repeats itself in the Mirrorverse. Like Jack Sparrow, he has up to 22 points of articulation.
, Disneyland Merchandise Update: Haunted Mansion, Hats, and Tons of Tech
In-game, Sulley is a Tank-type and his suit of armor (complete with a shield crafted from a Scare Floor door) helps him protect himself and his friends from attacks.

Zip (and Unzip) It with Quantum Mechanix’s Zippermouth Plushes

Quantum Mechanix, also known as Qmx, recently unveiled their Zippermouth plush line, and among the included characters were two familiar Disney faces, Stitch and Maleficent. As you likely guessed, the key characteristic of Zippermouth plushes is that their mouth are zippers. Unzip them to reveal their impressively detailed mouths. Let’s take a closer look.

The Stitch Zippermouth Plush depicts the alien in his true six-legged form, complete with the floppy ridges on his back and a pair of antennas on his head.

The Maleficent Zippermouth Plush is equal parts menacing and adorable. In her dragon form, she boasts fabric wings, a “spiky” tail, and an imposing forked tongue.

Stitch and Maleficent will each cost $29.95. You can’t order them just yet but interested collectors should join the waiting lists on the toy’s page.
