Disney-Pixar’s Luca is heading to Disney+ on June 18th and merchandise is ready and waiting for soon-to-be fans of the film to snatch up. There are lots of goodies available (as well as some still in the works) and I have picked a few highlights for you. But before we dive in, let’s take a look at the latest trailer for the movie:
Luca Apparel
Wild & Free T-Shirt ($21.67 to $23.17) – Available at BoxLunch
Luca in his sea monster form is seen swimming wild and free amongst his fishy friends on this adult T-shirt. The art is printed in such a way so as to appear faded and a little aged. It looks like it would be a great centerpiece for a beach ensemble.
Luca Costume Zip Hoodie for Kids ($34.99) – Available at Disney Stores and on shopDisney
Kids definitely get the coolest outfit created for Luca, this costume zip hoodie. It is full of so many details. The sleeves have soft appliqué fins. The hood is lined with a print of Luca and Alberto as sea monsters around schools of fish. Soft gills and embroidered facial features decorate the outside of the hood. Alberto peeks out from one of the side pockets. But perhaps the sweetest detail (or at least my favorite), is the teeny-tiny little fish used as the zipper pull.
T-Shirt and Shorts Set for Kids ($32.99) – Available at Disney Stores and on shopDisney
Sea monsters Luca and Alberto swim with the fishes all over the shirt in this kid’s set. The drawstring shorts (elastic in the waistband as well) have hip pockets and waves decorating the sides.
Luca Sundress for Kids ($32.99) – Available at Disney Stores and on shopDisney
This lovely kid’s sundress would be perfect for a warm beach or pool day. The dress’s print is full of sea flora and fauna along with Luca and Alberto as sea monsters. It is made of a cotton seersucker fabric, which should be nice and cool during the sunny, summer days, and has two front pockets (yay, pockets!). With such a flattering shape and fun print, I wish there was an adult version of this dress.
Luca Toys
Small Character Plushes ($16.99 each) – Available at Disney Stores and on shopDisney
Ah yes, my favorite merchandise type: plush toys! There are four different plushes available and they are all billed as “small.” I suspect that, with the exception of Machiavelli the cat, the reason they are labeled as such is that they are spindly in build, despite being on the tall side. First up, we have Luca and Alberto, both in their sea monster forms, measuring 16 and 17 inches tall, respectively. Both fishy boys have iridescent “skin” and printed scales on their arms, legs, and tails.
Next is Giulia, who is a tad shorter, at 13 inches tall. Like Alberto, her outfits are made up of different textured fabrics.
And as for Machiavelli, he could very well have been named “Judgy McJudgeface” for all the sass his plush face is giving off. The feline fellow is 7 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 9 inches long.

Luca Deluxe Figurine Play Set ($26.99) – Available at Disney Stores and on shopDisney
This set includes 9 detailed static figurines. And when I say “detailed,” I mean it! The characters look just like the ones seen in the trailers. The choice of a watery-looking stand for the sea monster characters works well.
Funko POP! Vinyl figures ($9.99 each) – Available on August 7 at Target and Other Retailers
Of course there are new Funko POP! figures as well. Each character is about 3 and 3/4 inches tall, with those signature POP! monochromatic eyes. Options include Luca and Alberto in their natural sea monster forms as well as the look they adopt on land, plus Giulia with Machiavelli at her feet.

Luca Movie Theater Storybook & Projector ($19.99) – Available on June 1 on Amazon
This picture book, which recounts the events seen in the movie, also includes a handheld projector and special images. The intended audience for the 28-page book is in the preschool to kindergarten range. Here is the book’s synopsis:
In the beautiful seaside town of Portorosso, Luca and his friend Alberto meet a young girl named Giulia, and the three friends have an unforgettable summer full of gelato, pasta, and bike rides! However, their fun is threatened by a deeply held secret: Luca and Alberto are sea monsters from just below the water’s surface. Young readers will enjoy reliving the adventure through the handheld projector and 5 disks with 20 beautiful images from Disney and Pixar’s new film, Luca.
Odds & Ends
Scenic Scrunchy Set ($10.90, currently marked down to $8.17) – Available at BoxLunch
This trio of scrunchies does a good job of being thoughtfully themed to the movie without being too “in-your-face” with the IP. One of the scrunchies, the red and white striped one, is made to match Giulia’s shirt. Another is decorated with different poster art featuring the film’s characters. And the last one is covered with a split view of under the ocean and the streets of Portorosso, the human town in Luca.
Big Cat in Town Hanging Wood Wall Decor ($14.99) – Available on Amazon
Machiavelli does indeed seem to be the Big Cat in Town and I can’t wait to see more of him when the movie premiers. But in the meantime, this wooden sign will have to do. It is 9 inches wide and 5 and 3/4 inches tall, making it a good size for pretty much any space in the house.
Disney-Pixar Luca Golden Book ($5.99) – Available on Amazon
And here’s an item that I know many of you will want to add to your kid’s library (or your own!). As is always the case with Golden Books, this retelling of Luca is filled with beautiful images.
