Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is in serious risk of danger. Hades, with the help of his devious friends— including Scar, Ursula, Maleficent and others— intends to turn the Magic Kingdom into his personal summer home. The only way to stop him from succeeding is to fight back!
The “Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom” is a fun (and free!) minigame that can be played throughout your visit to the Magic Kingdom. As we look for safe outdoor fun, this game is the perfect way to spend a few hours.
First stop, Main Street USA
In order to stop Hades, you’ve got to become a Sorcerer of the Magic Kingdom. In essence, the game consists of casting spells (through the use of special playing cards) in order to stop the villains from collecting the four enchanted crystal shards and taking over the Magic Kingdom.
Let’s head on over to the Firehouse on Main Street to start your quest. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom is available to play in the park every day, and there is no cost for the packs of cards you receive at the Firehouse, or to play the game.
At the Firehouse, you will receive all the information you need to become a Sorcerer. Get your map, trading card packs and select the starting point for your quest. What’s your choice: Adventureland, Liberty Square/Frontierland, Fantasyland or Main Street, USA?

Off on Our Quest
To start your quest, go to your first location. Tap your MagicBand on the lock to begin.
It may be a little daunting (or even a bit awkward) at your first couple locations, but don’t worry, you have help in your Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom spell cards. Each spell card has iconic Disney characters such as Bolt, Lightning McQueen, Snow White (and many, many others) to cast spells on the evildoers. With their help, you can foil Hades’ plans!

Quests are completed in 4-5 stops in each land. You can stop at one game, or you can choose to continue on. Merlin will provide you with your next quest starting point at the end of each play.
More About Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom debuted in February 2012, and has developed a surprisingly large following. There are many people who collect and trade spell cards, and you can receive a new pack of spell cards every time you play. And if you play regularly, you can begin where you left off as well.
In normal times, the Firehouse has a large book of spell cards for trading (not unlike pin trading). Although, for the time being, trading is not available due to the safety precautions in place. And there’s also special cards distributed exclusively during the holiday parties (Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party) held at Magic Kingdom. That said, I have been told that the party cards would not be available this year. All of the Halloween Parties have been canceled for this year, and we’re still waiting to see what the winter holds.
We use a plain binder to keep all of our spell cards, but you can purchase a special Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom binder if the fancy strikes you.
