Disney is celebrating the fact that we are “Halfway to Halloween” (so is MiceChat!) and the belated party favors are some awesome merchandise. They previewed items that will be available at shopDisney (and eventually Disney Parks) and several other retailers later in the year. The emphasis is on The Haunted Mansion but a few other creepy classics are snuck into the mix as well.
The Haunted Mansion-Inspired Ear Minnie Mouse Headband – shopDisney ($29.99)
The Haunted Mansion has seen a good share of Ear Headbands in the past and now we can add one more the list. The mansion’s famous wallpaper is featured seen over the ears and band with the attraction’s signage nestled atop the ribbon. This item will be available this fall.
Haunted Mansion-Inspired Adult Spirit Jersey – shopDisney ($64.99)
The wallpaper makes an encore appearance in this Spirit Jersey. You may recall that the wallpaper was also a part of the previous version Haunted Mansion Spirit Jersey but now, the print completely covers the garment. There is both a Disneyland version as well as Walt Disney World one. These items will be available this fall.
The Haunted Mansion “Ghost Host” Cap – shopDisney ($27.99)
Disney’s Ghost Host hat reborn. This time, the wallpaper is featured in the background and it appears as though it may be more of a trucker hat style (mesh in the back). And, is that a coffin I spy within the “O” in “Ghost?” Eerie! This item will be available this fall.
The Haunted Mansion Crossbody Bag by Loungefly – shopDisney ($65)
Made to resemble The Haunted Mansion’s Doom Buggies, this crossbody bag by Loungefly seems to have picked up a few hitchhikers. The ghostly trio look as though they may glow in the dark but that has not been confirmed. This item is available this Fall.
The Haunted Mansion-Inspired Mini Backpack by Loungefly – shopDisney ($90)
This Loungefly Mini Backpack is crafted in the likeness of the costume belonging to The Haunted Mansion’s Cast Members. Details like the bat-like bow and Ghost Host name tag make it an otherworldly winner. This item will be available this Fall.
The Haunted Mansion-Inspired Card Case by Loungefly – shopDisney ($14.99)
The Loungefly merchandise is rounded out with a card case. It looks like the flap with the attraction signage might be lenticular. If you look at the photo, you can barely make out the likenesses of Phineas, Ezra, and Gus, the three hitchhiking ghosts. This item will be available this Fall.
Funko POP! The Organist from The Haunted Mansion – shopDisney ($39.99)
Funko’s next Disney Parks POP! figure is The Organist, as seen in The Haunted Mansion’s ballroom. This item will be available this Fall.
Additional POP! figures are coming to the online store as well. Expect to see the Haunted Mansion Maid (AKA female Cast Member) as well as two characters from the Stretching Room portraits (the old lady and the bearded man in his boxers). The last two also have chaser editions that show the “fully-stretched” portrait form. You catch a glimpse of them in their corruptible mortal state over on the Disney Parks Blog post.
The Haunted Mansion: Call of the Spirits Game – Mass Retailers ($24.99)
This new family board game revisits all the attraction’s locales that guests love, including the Ballroom, Attic, and Graveyard. Not much is known about gameplay but it sounds like it might have something to do with searching for ghosts. This item will be available this Fall.
POP! Funkoverse Strategy Game: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas – Mass Retailers ($39.99)
Funko’s POP! figures get a turn as game pieces in this strategy game. The rules are a tad complex so rather than paraphrase it, here they are, straight from the publisher:
Each turn, you select one of your characters and perform two actions. Each character has access to basic actions like moving and challenges as well
as several unique abilities that may be performed only by spending ability tokens. Funkoverse uses an innovative “cooldown” system—the more powerful the ability, the longer it will take for the ability token to become available again—so players have to spend their ability tokens wisely. Each character in Funkoverse is unique, so players are encouraged to try out different combinations of characters and items in order to discover their favorite synergies and powerful strategies for the different game scenarios.

Ravensburger’s “Hocus Pocus”: The Game – Mass Retailers ($19.99)
Ravensburger’s “Hocus Pocus”: The Game sounds like a great option for fans of the movie who are looking for a quick round of gaming. The playthrough is designed to take about thirty minutes and will allow for 2 to 6 players. This is a cooperative game, where everyone works together (with a little help from Binx) to try to stop the Sanderson Sisters from completing their potion. You play potion cards in your hand to match the ones in the cauldron but the Sister’s spells can set your progress back. If you can ruin the potion three times “before the sun rises,” you win. This item will be available on July 26 at your local retailers.
“Evil Thing” By Serena Valentino ($17.99)
Coming to us courtesy of Disney Publishing Worldwide is the seventh volume in the popular Villains series, Evil Thing. Here is the book’s synopsis:

These Nightmare Before Christmas costumes would be perfect for some fun family photos for Halloween.
