All the birds sing words and the flowers croon in May’s Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction Collection as we pay a visit to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. And let me tell you, this month is one to be excited about. The tropical vibe, combined with the vibrantly colored patterns and variety of textures, has me longing for a Dole Whip.

What is the Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction Collection?

Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction is a series of merchandise collections, released monthly, all themed to Disney Parks attractions. Thus far, we have seen Space Mountain (January), Pirates of the Caribbean (February), The Mad Tea Party (March), It’s a Small World (April), and for May, The Enchanted Tiki Room.

Purchasing the Tiki Room Collection

While it was initially planned that these collections would be released at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, Disney Stores, and shopDisney, only the last option is currently available due to park closures. The merchandise listed below will go on sale on May 16 at 7am PacificThe links included in this article will be activated at that time. These items have a tendency to sell out quickly (perhaps even instantly) so be ready to click those links at the stroke of 7am!

The release of these popular items is typically a mad dash with lots of upset customers left in the wake. How would you like to see Disney handle these releases?

Minnie Mouse Plush ($29.99)

You gotta admit that when Minnie Mouse visits the Tiki Room, she does it in style! Just look at that outfit. Her tiered dress is covered with tropical flora and birds of many colors. A macaw sits perched atop her bow (my favorite detail). And her woven jute-style slippers have little flowers on them.

Mini Backpack by Loungefly ($75)

This month’s Loungefly contribution is a mouse-eared mini-backpack. The allover print matches the one found on the plush’s dress. It also features burlap side pockets and a dark green bow. I must confess, I am rather disappointed that Minnie’s macaw friend didn’t also appear on the bag’s bow, though.

Ear Headband ($34.99)

The Tiki Room Ear Headband not only uses the same festive bird-filled print as the previous two items but also incorporates a leafy-looking bow, a lovely flower, and feathers. The headband portion is decorated with a woven fabric, like the one on the plush’s slippers, while the edging of the ears has markings resembling bamboo.

Pin Set ($19.99)

This month’s pin set consists of Minnie, the macaw from Minnie’s bow (or the Tiki Room, if you prefer), and the ear headband (this time, with a bird). The flower/bird print looks great on the ear headband pin.

Mug ($19.99)

Like previous months, this mug is stackable and with a bow as the focal point. This bow has the bird in it, just like the pin set’s, which makes me wonder why the actual ear headband is missing one. In any case, the brightly-colored pattern bow is almost as eye-catching as the sparkly bow. And I love the inclusion of the birds of paradise with the macaw. Clever!

What’s Missing?

Minnie Mouse the Main Attraction line has proven to be VERY popular. But the line remains limited to just the plush, pins, mug, headband, and backpack. Missing are other items that would surely be popular, such as a dress, purse, spirit jersey, and other items. And there’s nothing at all for men. Personally, I’d love to see a companion Mickey to go along with Minnie, with items for men or unisex merchandise added. What do you think?

A Preview of June’s Collection

But that’s not all! Disney recently shared a look at what’s coming up for June, The Peter Pan’s Flight Collection. Ah, things to look forward to . . .
