Concept art has just become available for Disneyland’s proposed Vacation Club Tower at the Disneyland Hotel! 350 timeshare guest rooms will take up the Tower’s 12-stories.

The overall look and theme appear to be the approximate size and shape of the current Disneyland Hotel towers, but with modern hotel accents.

Original building permits for the Disney Vacation Club Tower project were filed in November of 2019. Disney is in the early planning stages but the city of Anaheim must approve the project before they can move forward with construction. While there is no set opening date, the new Tower is not expected to be completed before 2022.

From Cancelation to A New Beginning

Just a year and a few months back, Disney and Anaheim couldn’t come to an agreement for a proposed 4-diamond hotel in Downtown Disney. The hotel project was canceled in October 2018.

4th Disneyland Hotel Officially Canceled

The proposed DVC addition to the Disneyland Hotel takes Disney in a very different direction than initially intended with the 4-diamond hotel. The DVC tower will be a major offering for DVC members, especially since DVC units book so quickly at Disneyland.

The new DVC Tower would be located at the previous Fantasy Waters site, a grassy area nestled between the Disneyland Hotel’s Convention Center and Frontier Tower. Construction of the new tower would remove an existing resort laundry facility.

The final site plans submitted to Anaheim include a Mickey-shaped whirlpool spa and outdoor pool bar. All additional resort amenities would be provided by Disneyland Hotel’s existing facilities.

“We look forward to working closely with the Disneyland Resort, the City of Anaheim and engaging our neighbors on this project, which would also create new jobs and spending in the community, as well as generate additional revenue for the city”, said Terri Shultz, Disney Vacation Club Senior Vice President.
