It turns out that buffalo plaid, beagles, and boysenberries mix together very well. You can find that out for yourself at Knott’s Merry Farm this Christmas. Knott’s Berry Farm’s seasonal festivities not only include special food and shows but also themed merchandise. We’ll take a look at the merchandise exclusive to Merry Farm, but also items from the Ghost Town stalls that would make lovely holiday gifts.
Buffalo Check Merchandise
Much of the holiday-themed fare featured a Buffalo Check print. I would wager the most popular ones will be the Spirit Jerseys. The Buffalo Check comes in red with a small snowflake on the front, in the upper left corner. There is also a green one, which replaces the snowflake for a sprig of mistletoe.

With the exception of the green Spirit Jersey, every item in the Buffalo Check line is red. The majority of them have the Knott’s Berry Farm logo on the piece somewhere.

Shopping at Knott’s is fun because they don’t just stock the same merchandise everywhere. It’s a lot like visiting the shopping district of a small town or a Christmas market. As a result, while you’ll find some Knott’s branded merchandise, there’s even more that isn’t specifically branded to Knott’s at all. I could buy a ticket to Knott’s and be perfectly happy to just shop ’till I drop.

In addition to these items, Knott’s has a special pin, that you can get for $3 with any purchase, or you can buy the pin individually for $9.99. If the pin isn’t your cup of tea, the same purchase with purchase offer can apply towards a holiday-themed reusable shopping bag.

Snoopy Merchandise
Snoopy and his friends wouldn’t miss out on the merry festivities. For those who prefer their merchandise with a tad more character, the Peanuts Gang has you covered.

Let’s start off by taking a look at this year’s Merry Farm shirt. The print, which features Santa Snoopy (in a Buffalo Check coat and hat) with Woodstock, is available on both a t-shirt as well as a hoodie.

Another t-shirt/hoodie option is this Snoopy Buffalo Check silhouette. These were spotted at the Gold Trails Hotel and Mercantile.

Along with those two pieces was a Santa’s sack full of other Snoopy holiday items. Let’s look at the soft, huggable ones first.

There was also some merchandise that would be good for decorating for the holidays.

Berry Market Goods and Other Knott’s Brand Items
What are the holidays without sweets? These jams are all packaged up in box sets, all ready for gifting. And if you haven’t tried these jams and jellies, you should add that to your list of things to do. While Knott’s lost the rights to using their name of these products to Smuckers when the family sold to Cedar Fair, they now make their own product under the “Berry Market” label. And they are SO good! These are premium quality goods with simple ingredients and packed with flavor. I’m a huge fan of this line.

There is even something called “Christmas Jam.” If you are wondering about what that entails (I know I was), ingredients include pure cane sugar, cranberries, raspberries, pears, orange peel, orange liqueur, spices, and pectin. It’s Christmas in a jar folks. So good you could eat it right out of the jar. But I recommend putting it on cinnamon waffles, using it in thumbprint cookies, or simply spreading on toast. You’ll thank me later. I’m buying a bunch of these for gifting.

You can cook like Mrs. Knott with the aid of various mixes. Highlights include ones for Boysenberry Cocoa (I should have expected that one) and Peppermint Cake Batter Cookies, an invention of Mrs. Knott herself.

Trying to avoid sweets? I understand. There are plenty of other Knott’s branded goods for you to enjoy. These lanterns, for example, are pretty darn magical. They light up in-sync with the lanterns throughout Ghost Town during The Snow and Glow show.

And these little lantern ornaments would make a lovely addition to a Christmas tree.

Now, this is a fun idea for kids. For $5, you get this “Santa Gift Bag,” which can contain any number of things. You might find toys such as Slinkies, balls, and small snowman and candy cane cushions covered in double-sided sequins.

Brutus, Knott’s beloved donkey mascot, is immortalized as the charming felted ornament. You’ll find him over at the Gold Trails Hotel and Mercantile.

And seeing as how winter nights can get a chilly, even in Southern California, these beanies bearing the Knott’s Berry Farm logo are worthwhile investments.

Ghost Town’s Gold Mine
During the holiday season, Ghost Town becomes a Christmas Crafts Village and I spent hours searching the stalls for homemade and unique gift ideas. This is a fun Christmas activity which results in one of a kind gifts to give later – win/win.
Let’s start off with the stall called “Aprons, Bibs, Bags, and More” (it also includes Crafty Critters but that isn’t on the sign). This one is run by several skilled crafters who each contribute different items to location.

Leafy Love Herbal Tea‘s booth not only has a special Christmas blend but you can also build your own gift set, with items like a teapot or an infusing water bottle.

Flores Honey was another fun stall find. You’ll come for the live beehive display but you’ll stay for locally-sourced honey (you can find out more on their Instagram account). They had a nifty gift set that included four different honey jars.

Alright, this one isn’t actually a stall but it is still definitely worth noting. The Bottle House has different clay figures that guests can paint and take home. After they are done painting the figure of their choice, they are given a redemption slip so they can pick it up later after enjoying a day at the Park. The figure will receive a nice finishing glaze while you are enjoying the rest of the park.

Looking Ahead
There is so much to look forward to, even after the holidays. Next year, Knott’s Berry Farm is celebrating 100th anniversary and to mark the occasion there will be a new pin release weekly. The pins will include retro themes along with contemporary ones and include characters like Sad Eye Joe. And of course, expect some crazy pin designs around Knott’s Scary Farm!
Knott’s Bear-y Tales will make its return in Summer 2020 and you’ll find its corresponding store where the Nautilus shop is currently located. This venue also serves as a 100th Anniversary store and will not only stock Bear-y Tales merchandise but other older ride IPs as well. Maps and ride posters are among the items guests can look forward to.
